How is it that our wonderful President can sound powerful yet humble, confident yet properly grave - all at the same time????

Thank God (and I mean that!)for a true leader for our nation - for our WORLD - at this most dangerous hour.

Oh, and - nice dig at the Axis of Weasels, Mr. Prez . . . appropriate AND well deserved.

Britain, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Portugal, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Portugal and Japan.

I think.

Not that it matters ... it's OUR war.

Reply 3 - Posted by: irishlass1, 3/17/2003 9:14:44 PM

on St. Patrick's Day, don't forget to include Ireland! I don't know if they're sending troops, but they support us.

Reply 4 - Posted by: mwild, 3/17/2003 9:17:14 PM

You forgot Australia this time, #2. ;-)

Reply 5 - Posted by: Allegra, 3/17/2003 9:18:27 PM

Ugh...Andrea Mitchell blows hot and cold. Tonight she sounds like Chirac's bestest friend.

The list of the coalition of the willing:Britain, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Denmark, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Israel, Kuwait, Qatar, the Netherlands, Croatia, Macedonia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Possibly Turkey.

Evan Bayh just said 'Nothing Bush could have done would have turned the French around." Good for him! He agreed that Saddam, 'absolutely' has weapons of mass destruction, and that Tom Dachle needs to be reined in. He also said, "I'm not going to be running out and buying French wine, I'll tell you that!" A halfway sane dem!

I pray that all of our military will be safe. I pray that President Bush will be led and guided by God's wisdom. I pray that the war will be over soon and the poeple in Iraq can be a free people.

Reply 7 - Posted by: Cato_the_elder, 3/17/2003 9:19:30 PM

It's 8:17 P.M., Central Standard Time, and there are roughly 46 hours and 40 minutes until the deadline.

Do you know where Saddam is?

Cause I know where he's GOING!!!

Reply 8 - Posted by: amereagle, 3/17/2003 9:21:32 PM

I forgot to add Australia and the Free Iraqi Forces (exiled Confederate Government), and I think Bertie Ahern said Ireland supports us, though they have their share of braindead peaceniks like the rest of Europe.

so, updated:

Britain, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Portugal, Australia, Ireland, Free Iraqi Forces, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Portugal and Japan.

Plus, until French storm-trooper tactics, several others were set to join us.

That's at least 25.

Sure beats France, Germany, Russia, China, Iraq, Iran, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Libya and the American Broadcast Media on the other side.

Reply 9 - Posted by: SayHey2u, 3/17/2003 9:22:58 PM

Aren't a few of the 'stans' with us? And Jordan?

Reply 10 - Posted by: berlin, 3/17/2003 9:23:21 PM

Excellent coverage by FOX tonight. Hume/Snow and Co doing a great job.

God bless our President and the men and women who will be exucuting his orders.

Reply 11 - Posted by: DonQuijote, 3/17/2003 9:25:26 PM

Now, just listen to yourselves.

Last week, Allegra told you it would be so, but so many of you were dispairing.

Have confidence in W.

I'm lovin' Cato's Countdown! Keep it tickin'.

Ok, I keep leaving countries out. Which, in and of itself, tells ya something, no?

Others are doing this better than I am ... over to you!

BTW, O'Reilly's tearing a Francophile a new one. France has no idea what they've done to themselves. How many times to they have to be taught that appeasement is a horrible idea?

God Bless and Let's Roll!

I am really likin' that picture of Dubya on the homepage. I'm a very happily married woman and he's old enough to be my father but boy, does he look good! Swoon, swoon.

Reply 14 - Posted by: SayHey2u, 3/17/2003 9:36:20 PM

Awwww, but you were doing a fine job, Amereagle.

I just sent Fox an email and asked if they could post a list on their website. I seem to recall seeing one at one time. Maybe part of the problem is that some of these weasel countries never committed.

Reply 15 - Posted by: Vimvig, 3/17/2003 9:42:41 PM

Aren't a few of the 'stans' with us? And Jordan?

Uzbekistan is with us as they were against the Taliban. Remember General Dostum and how he lead his forces into Kabal.

The president has a first name of Islam but is h*ll on wahabi terrorist.

Reply 16 - Posted by: pomom, 3/17/2003 9:42:45 PM

We got the coalition of the willing - the rest are a coalition of the whining and the wimping.

Reply 17 - Posted by: LadyVet, 3/17/2003 9:52:22 PM

Peter Jennings and ABC is calling their special news report WHEN DIPLOMACY FAILS. Jennings is repeating ''going it alone,'' ''failed diplomacy,'' opposed by most of the world'' ''risking American lives'' etc. etc.

But he is not near as bad as the idiot Zim from Boston University who was on with Jim Leher on PBS.

Reply 18 - Posted by: janjan, 3/17/2003 9:52:42 PM

Very clear. Very concise. This was a message for Iraq. The next time he speaks it will be to the American people.

The Presidents" Address was right on the Mark. He delivered it perfectly, and in his heart, he was hoping this was a speech he hadn't planned on making. He sent the troops over there, to make saddam fold, but he didn't, so LET'S ROLL. FOX had good coverage, couldn't watch the abc channels, as I am sure they were tearing President Bush up. Instead, I am listening to Savage, and checking out Lucianne, my best source of the real news. Loved the site for Darryl Worleys Have You Forgotten, and Charlie Daniels letter to follywood and the World. Lucianne, need to show those towers everyday, wish the TV would show them every hour, to remind people of what we are fighting for. God Bless President Bush, God Bless America and God Bless our Brave Military, whom the klintoons are allegedly trying to put in harms way by allegedly calling france, germany, etc., and asking them to stand down and not support President Bush.

Reply 21 - Posted by: mod, 3/17/2003 9:56:16 PM

Wonderful speech by our President. Let's all continue to pray for him and the other leaders (even the dems!) of this country.

A female, obviously French-wannabe, almost pushed me over the limit today, making comments that Pres. Bush is just trying to settle one for his Dad, and that Bush and Cheney are just in this for the oil. She doesn't believe there are any weapons over in Iraq...just thinks it's all made up. Her husband looked at me, then made several attempts to get her to stop talking... I just know she watches Blather, Jennings, Couric, etc. FOX needs to lead the way, and start showing 9/11 footage again.

Reply 22 - Posted by: JemMAC, 3/17/2003 10:01:24 PM

Is there a site that lists French products/companies that do business in the U.S.?

I've been casual in my boycott of French goods - no brie, wine, etc. - but I think the time has come to step up my personal protest. Too many good, brave men and women will die because of France's power play with the U.S.

Reply 23 - Posted by: deepeep, 3/17/2003 10:01:27 PM

I thought it was a good speech. It wasn't fancy or oratorical. But it was well reasoned and an effective bill of prosecution. I am very pleased that Pres. Bush extended the option to Saddam of stepping down so that he could retain his dignity. This was an outstanding demonstration of civility and civilization which was not required by his superior power, but was just the right touch. And it was yet again another demonstration of what the Prez has said: that the decisions are in Saddam's hands. I was also very pleased that the Prez has repeatedly made that clear.

Believe it or not, I am still praying that Saddam will call for his private jet to wait on the runway and load up his family and his kit and kaboodle and LEAVE. I don't usually pray because I find it very hard to believe that God micro-manages the world, but this is a special event that could make a lot of difference for many people.

Failing that, I hope the campaign is over quickly with as little harm done to everyone as possible.

Reply 24 - Posted by: Tygerlily, 3/17/2003 10:05:22 PM

I love all his speeches.

Reply 25 - Posted by: KCSTAN, 3/17/2003 10:07:46 PM

You know me as a leftist site pest as I remain personally unconvinced that this is the right decision.

However this is not about my personal opinions or me.
We have a President that is the Commander in Chief.

He and he alone must make this decision and I support Him and our troops.
His speech was short, clear and concise, he has never done better.

Our troops have my undying support and appreciation.
Let’s get in and get it over.

God Bless our President, our troops and our nation.

What evil-appeasers, who cower behind buildings, or flee, and who won't join posses when evil rides into town don't understand is that this is an incontorvertably GOOD image. No blather, no "shades of gray", no post-modern deconstruction of the root causes, just plain Good:

Only fools and liberals remain in the Democratic Party. I shudder to think what would have happened to us if 911 had happened when the Pervert, his wife, Janet Reno, Madeline Albright, Carville and Jesse Jackson had still been in our WHite House.
I feel by them like so many of Saddam's people feel about him. Pure hatred.

Reply 35 - Posted by: Scout Finch, 3/17/2003 10:21:54 PM

Just tuned in to the roundtable. Question: How can you look into President Bush's eyes and NOT trust this man to lead America--and the World--into victory and justice? I love this man. He has my complete confidence and respect.

Saddam, may this evenings moon shine ever so brightly on you.

Reply 37 - Posted by: mrs tonto, 3/17/2003 10:23:30 PM

good speech Karen. Yes KCStan, you're a keeper. If a position cannot stand opposition, it's not a position worth maintaining. Plenty of good Americans have doubts but know that when it comes down to the nut cutting support for the country, the troops and the CINC is the only position acceptable. Time for us to disagree will come later. For now we're all in this together. God Bless America.

If a position cannot stand opposition, it's not a position worth maintaining.

Well said, Mrs.T, I have always felt this way also...one of the reasons I eventually had to walk away from the dems, and the feminists was because they brooked no dissent, allowed no thinking outside the party lines. It made me suspicious...I came to realize that if your philosophy or your ideology is so fragile that it can't bear debate - can't ALLOW debate - then it's not much of a position at all.

Reply 42 - Posted by: amereagle, 3/17/2003 10:39:22 PM

A small prayer to the Creator of our Declaration that more Democrats WAKE UP and take a lesson from our dear friend KCSTAN on how to be a loyal opposition.

Reply 43 - Posted by: Scout Finch, 3/17/2003 10:52:02 PM

Reading other posts about ABCNBCCBSCNN's coverage--like ''When Diplomacy Fails'' and continuous assertions that we're going it alone and with ''most of the world in opposition'' only reminds me of why I'm so appreciative of Fox News. I used to get SO angry--down deep in my belly--over the snide comments from major news media talking heads, going back to the Reagan years. I'm so glad I don't have to listen to those condescending lies anymore. Like amereagle, I'm inclined to tune in ONLY to keep ahead of their game.

Loved the President's comment about "those that have the fortitude" to enforce the UN decision. A little dig at the Axis of Weasels, methinks.

Reply 50 - Posted by: ClangClang, 3/17/2003 11:55:57 PM

Great, great speech. GW's message to the people of Iraq was a master stroke. There was also a not too thinly veiled shot at Clinton when he said something like "we will not drift." For that brief moment, he looked away from the camera, as if in disgust. Anyway, a great speech.

Difficult times ahead and I can't imagine a better leader to get us through it.
