Let's all say a prayer for the President, our troops, our nation. God Bless America.

Reply 3 - Posted by: mobyclik, 3/17/2003 7:58:57 PM

We could be at war tomorrow and I saw that jerk Dashole attacking President Bush today. The people of S. Dakota should be outraged, how many of them have sons and daughters in the military?

Disgusting RATS!

Reply 4 - Posted by: Go! GW!, 3/17/2003 8:00:07 PM

Pray for our President.
Pray for a victory for the USA and its allies.
Pray for freedom for the Iraqi people.

Reply 5 - Posted by: shurnuff, 3/17/2003 8:00:18 PM

May God bless our president and give him strength - both tonight as he addresses the nation and during the war as he fights enemies in foreign nations and enemies within the democrat party.

I strongly feel that the reason France and Germany stood their ground is that the democrats' criticisms of the president led them to believe that America was against GW... little do they know that democrats long ago stopped having their fingers on the pulse of America.

Let us pray for our military leaders and the innocents who are in danger, but most of all for our troops and our dear president!!

Amy, thanks for the special thread!!

Reply 12 - Posted by: Had2, 3/17/2003 8:08:53 PM

Can you hear it. Here it comes

Nothing new here....

Hasn't made his case......

No proof.....

I think all he has to do is sand up there with a newspaper that has a huge headline that reads.

Reply 13 - Posted by: Peaches, 3/17/2003 8:09:19 PM

Good! He's including the murderous sons in the 48-hour deadline!

Reply 14 - Posted by: Tsarevna, 3/17/2003 8:09:26 PM

48 hours.
Pretty uncertain terms. This man does not know wobbly.

Reply 15 - Posted by: teegore, 3/17/2003 8:09:40 PM

He talks of terrible weapons in the Butchers hands. Our W knows things, he could not share, things so frightening, the knowledge, if publicized would cause panic.

Reply 16 - Posted by: LittleHoodedMonk, 3/17/2003 8:10:37 PM

President Gush has thrown down the gaunlet. Soddom Insane and his sons have 48 hours to get out of Dodge.

Reply 19 - Posted by: socaworld, 3/17/2003 8:12:35 PM

Cannot remember the last time a President was so clearly-spoken.

Oh, I remember.. . . Ronaldus Magnus.

Before that? Can't remember. Lincoln?

Message to the Iraqis: freedom is coming!

Reply 25 - Posted by: Tsarevna, 3/17/2003 8:14:36 PM

Amazingly clever to translate this and pipe it into Iraq. Psy Ops is a big part of how you win a war, and we've got the best in the world.
He knows what orders those poor soldiers have been given. He clearly was not just guessing about chemical weapons.

Reply 26 - Posted by: jlee, 3/17/2003 8:14:38 PM

I love this President! I love his resolve. I think the democrats and the words of daschle today are as much to blame for this "failure" as the french and germans.
Bush means what he says. They may not understand that concept but better get used to it.
Spelling it out clearly in the speech.
God bless our troops, the innocent people of Iraq and our commander in chief!! Amen

Reply 27 - Posted by: kennowen, 3/17/2003 8:15:05 PM

No 'policy of appeasment.'

Re: Legacy

Dear BJBC,

Very truly yours,

Reply 38 - Posted by: ladydawgfan, 3/17/2003 8:21:02 PM

WOW!!!!

I am glad that this was piped into Iraq. I doubt that many will listen, but I am glad that the effort was made.

I am also glad that he mentioned that the Iraqui oilfields belong to the Iraqui people. That must have been a response to the ''no war for oil'' idiots.

Pray for our President. His shoulders carry many heavy burdens.

Reply 39 - Posted by: Publius3457, 3/17/2003 8:21:40 PM

I am proud of my President.
I am proud of our armed forces.
I am proud of my country.

A moment of prayer...

Then let's finish this.

Proud to be an American! Proud to have voted for W! And dam proud to see it's Morning in America again!

Daschle, you commie-pinko-appeasment-(rhymes with ur last name); I hope the people of BOTH Dakotas find a way to get together and vote you out with a 99.9% majority!

Reply 41 - Posted by: T-BUBBA, 3/17/2003 8:22:58 PM

He shows up on time.

He speaks for 14 minutes.

The speech is about the next generation, not the next election.

Thank God for our statesman, President George W. Bush.

Prayers for our brave fighters.

GOD BLESS AMERICA

Reply 42 - Posted by: jmurr, 3/17/2003 8:23:27 PM

Don't you think Daschle and the Dems are feeling a little irrelevant right now?

Reply 43 - Posted by: englishleigh, 3/17/2003 8:24:42 PM

GWB, awesome as usual.

Saddam, Uday & Qusay....take notice.

Reply 44 - Posted by: Viking, 3/17/2003 8:24:42 PM

Meanwhile, Al Gore reaches into the lockbox, I mean icebox, and grabs another gallon of ice cream. All the while contemplating how his invention of the internet has rendered the leftist media irrelevant and has made the public increasingly aware of how fortunate we are to have adults back in the White House during this critical moment.

Reply 45 - Posted by: dekko, 3/17/2003 8:24:44 PM

Clear words with no room for misinterpretation. No histrionics. Expect chaos from the unwashed tomorrow.

Reply 46 - Posted by: pomom, 3/17/2003 8:25:25 PM

Not one verbal misstep, not one waiver. Steely eyed calm. Everything I wanted to see.

I like the fact that he spoke to the entire Arab Region also.

God Bless Our President, Our Military, our Homeland Defenders in our Cities, and our Beloved Country.

Fly those flags high!!!

Reply 47 - Posted by: PayThePiper, 3/17/2003 8:25:47 PM

Just prior to the President's speech to the nation this evening, I thought CNN did a very nice job of letting the anti-American / anti-President Bush crowd know EXACTLY where to log onto the web to vent their spleens.

Disgusting display by CNN.

(Unfortunately, I was still at the office, which is without FoxNews).

Reply 48 - Posted by: Bonaman, 3/17/2003 8:25:56 PM

"It's a matter of will" and "we will not be intimidated by thugs"

You can't get much clearer than that , can you France ( or democRATS ) ??

Reply 49 - Posted by: LittleHoodedMonk, 3/17/2003 8:26:14 PM

Jennings and his anti-American crew at stating that this war is unpopular around most of the world and Iraqis in Iraq have been so confused by the 'posturing' of US vs. UN.

Reply 50 - Posted by: teegore, 3/17/2003 8:27:19 PM

Yes, I agree with the above poster, pray for Israel too, that God protects them during this time of peril, as well as our troops.

Reply 51 - Posted by: Blue Moon, 3/17/2003 8:27:27 PM

PERFECT speech, bravo sir! He hit every point beautifully, clearly and with strength and resolve. Couldn't have been better.

Reply 52 - Posted by: Embee, 3/17/2003 8:28:46 PM

Love watching Judy Woodruff and Richard Roth trying to sound intelligent. Judy is almost giddy being able to keep repeating that we are going into Iraq without (gasp!!) U.N. partnership!

Everyone get your trumpets and get ready to march around the fort. In lieu of trumpets, get on your knees in prayer. Same difference, isn't it.

Reply 53 - Posted by: mollybob, 3/17/2003 8:30:40 PM

George W. Bush is going to be viewed by history as one of the world's great leaders and one of the country's great presidents. I think of him that way already.

God bless our troops, God bless the President and God bless America!

I thank Barbara and ''41'' Bush for the son they raised. I thank God for our country and our President. I thank Amy et al for a place to say all of this.

I'm a TV screen toucher--and I said blessings over President Bush as he spoke. Such steel in his voice! Such power in his eyes. There will literally never be another man like him in my lifetime. God Bless America. Bless God, America.

47 hours and 30 min.

And counting.

Reply 59 - Posted by: pomom, 3/17/2003 8:34:54 PM

#54, I was just telling someone tonight that I wouldn't be surprised if Saddam started something first. Of course, he's been firing weekly at our coalition aircraft flying the no-fly zones.

Reply 60 - Posted by: GeorgiaGDI, 3/17/2003 8:35:28 PM

Responsibility

The world used to have appreciation for that word. Not blame, not burden -- responsibility.

Thank God our President remembers what it means. Remembers it, respects it, lives it.

I'm proud to know we have him as a LEADER.

Reply 61 - Posted by: sdavid, 3/17/2003 8:35:46 PM

What a great speech.

God Bless President Bush and our Armed Forces.

A MORAL DILEMMA: Scientists have discovered a meteor on a collision-course with Planet Earth. They have calculated that it will strike France in 48 hours, at approximately 2:30 A.M.Eastern Standard Time. The meteor is large enough to completely wipe France from the face of the earth forever.

France and the United Nations have requested that the United States help evacuate the country. That would mean diverting American ships and planes that are being used to fight the war on terror overseas.

You are George W. Bush, President of the United States. What should you do?

A) Watch the impact on live TV

B) Tape it and watch in the morning

Reply 63 - Posted by: yottyhere, 3/17/2003 8:39:04 PM

He said it loud and...

It was a GREAT Presedential address and a hundred years from now will be equated with Lincoln's at Gettysburg. I am still betting that Sodomm will leave the country and retire to Libya or Algeria.

Reply 65 - Posted by: William of Carmichael, 3/17/2003 8:41:04 PM

Our troops can take care of any enemy anywhere.

Do we civilians have the guts to take care of business here at home? The left will use the criminals and radicals among the millions and millions of ILLEGALS.

Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Marc Grossman, may be on to something.

http://aztlan.net/threatbyzionist.htm
"U.S. Diplomat Who Threaten 'Internment of Mexican-Americans' Identified," by Hector Carreon, La Voz de Aztlan

The article states, "The threat [to intern Mexican-Americans] was published in the British magazine 'The Economist' on February 27 and was confirmed by Mexican diplomats. . .'Mexican-Americans could face internment like the Japanese-Americans during World War II'. . .'Mexico would pay a very heavy price for opposing the U.S. on war with Iraq.'

The article says Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Marc Grossman, made these comments.

Open the internment camps for ALL enemies. How serious does it have to get?

And I hope both Klintons are alive to see it! Oh, their spawn too.

Reply 67 - Posted by: Yorkiemom, 3/17/2003 8:42:56 PM

Clear and concise. Finally, we have a president who says what he means and means what he says.

Daschle must know that he doesn't have a prayer of getting re-elected, or he would not have opened his ugly pie hole and said what he did today.

Reply 68 - Posted by: succulent, 3/17/2003 8:43:17 PM

I don't know what else to say except that President Bush is a great, great man guided by our Lord.

My prayers are with him and his entire family, and of course with all the members of our military.

Reply 71 - Posted by: applepie, 3/17/2003 8:44:41 PM

No reading cue cards in this speech! His eyes were focused straight at us all! He knew what he had to say, and he said it, in a strong, straightforward way! What a blessing to have George W. Bush as our President! Thank You Lord! Thank You! Please pray for our troops and their families in the coming days.

Reply 72 - Posted by: lana720, 3/17/2003 8:45:07 PM

In awe here on the Plains - let's keep up the prayers for our President and our military.

And, will someone, at the time of their own choosing just slap Dashole with a very wet kitchen towel over the back of the head? What a treasonous little man during these horrible times when most Americans back our President. Leadership is tough, Tommy - but then, you wouldn't know, would you.

Reply 73 - Posted by: LoneStarDaughter, 3/17/2003 8:45:09 PM

Shucks, Embee. That's an easy one. We all know the President turns in early.

Reply 75 - Posted by: amereagle, 3/17/2003 8:46:15 PM

God Bless America, our troops, our allies and President Bush.

=========

I checked over to ABC to see how seditious 5th column foreigner Peter Jennings was spinning things so he can keep the American people brainwashed and in Leftist Appeaser Fellate-the-French mode and he keeps saying "America's going it almost alone, even though the vast majority of people around the world don't want this war."

Someone please tell him that Japan just joined the Coalition of the Willing, which now includes them, and Czech/Aussie/Hungary/Poland/Brit/Aussie and people from 25 other nations, which is the 3rd-largest Coalition in the HISTORY of warfare.

The American Lefitst Appeaser UN-First Biased Lying Broadcast Media is a clear and present danger to Real America.

Excellent speech, Excellent President, now Let's Give War a Chance and Roll!

Reply 78 - Posted by: sagman, 3/17/2003 8:49:55 PM

Brilliant. The difference between W and Clinton doing this is that W clearly believes what he's saying.

Now, the Dem spin is that of course it will be a short conflict(this tack to deny W credit if things go well), but oh, oh ,oh the costs, the occupation, the Arab street, and on and on.

You can almost hear Daschle, Kennedy, and Levin saying in a strategy meeting, ok, God forbid the war is short and relatively painless, what are our fallback lines of attack on Bush?

I believe, I want to believe, that most Americans will see these creeps for what they are.

Reply 79 - Posted by: GreatPlains, 3/17/2003 8:50:34 PM

I was inspired and reassured by our glorious President Bush. And sickened and repelled by Tom DixieChick.

Reply 80 - Posted by: VAfreedomluver, 3/17/2003 8:51:37 PM

I don't remember the word "I" used in the speech once--or if it was it was hardly noticeable. Unlike a certain ex-president.

We are a very lucky nation.

Reply 81 - Posted by: Lawsy0, 3/17/2003 8:52:08 PM

Like someone above mentioned, the speech was a veritable feast for patriots. I could listen to it 6 or 7 more times. You cable people, can you tape it when it reruns? You know the alphabets aren't going to run it again any more than they'd run the 9/11 footage.

None knows what the dawn will bring. I feel a fast and a prayer meeting coming on. After the ''action'' another prayer meeting and another praise gathering. Woohoo! (That can be translated A-Men!)

Reply 82 - Posted by: earlybird, 3/17/2003 8:52:56 PM

The rest of you have said it all. So I'll say 'perfect'...

God bless our president, our armed services, and our wonderful America. Bless, too, the good people of Iraq, whose liberation is coming.

MSNBC had Andrea Mitchell carrying on about 'going it alone.' Now they have Pat Buchanan on. Stacking their deck. Btw, Brian Williams is getting foppish. A Peter Jennings in training.

ABC is unwatchable - why even bother?

Fox has made a point of discussin the historical truth that this is a HUGE co-alition. I hope most folks are watching Fox.

Reply 87 - Posted by: Vimvig, 3/17/2003 8:56:49 PM

Bush was unequivocal in warning Saddam's generals not to use WMD or torch oil fields.
He told them they would be tried for war crimes and that saying that were following orders would NOT be an acceptable excuse.

Our President said everything that was important in a brief but serious speech.

Reply 88 - Posted by: Penney, 3/17/2003 8:57:54 PM

FOX is telling it like it is.

MSNBC is spinning it like a top. BOO!!!

Reply 90 - Posted by: meredith, 3/17/2003 9:01:00 PM

I was at my mother's house where she was watching Jennings. He struck me as being angry that his months of campaigning against the war hadn't succeed. His demeanor seems to say that he is offended and exasperated that Bush has not recognized that Jennings knows all and is morally superior.

Hopefully the war itself will bring forward a new group of reporters who have enough grasp of reality to realize that one should listen to the people who are carrying the responsibility for world peace.

Reply 91 - Posted by: irishlass1, 3/17/2003 9:01:35 PM

NBC just went to the commander of the ground forces a three star general and his name is WILLIAM WALLACE. Doesn't that seem heroic? Braveheart and all that.

(i'm watching NBC because my dish is out and i can't get foxnews until tomorrow)

Reply 92 - Posted by: Pam Torson, 3/17/2003 9:01:47 PM

Tears of joy, relief, apprehension for me as I watched history unfold before my eyes. I'm praying for President Bush and his cabinet, for the American people, for Great Britain, Tony Blair and his cabinet, for Spain, for Jose Maria Aznar and his cabinet, for Israel, and for israeli nightrider who described the completion of his/her safe room in Israel. Where two or three are gathered together in Christ's name, there He is in the midst of us, and He will answer whatever two or more agree upon in prayer. Amen!

Now, LET'S ROLL!

Seems the Cowboy has spoken and told Black Bart to get out of town. Tom Dashle, D-France, has no shame. Does he even know where the B1 Bombers are based? Hint: just outside Rapid City.

God Bless this President, our men and women in uniform, the people of Iraq and the United States of America. Let's get it on!

Reply 96 - Posted by: Allegra, 3/17/2003 9:03:16 PM

Does anyone have an up-to-the-moment list of the Coalition of the Willing? I'd like to see it - I'd like to send it to Jennings and the rest of them. Anyone???

Reply 97 - Posted by: tatterdemalion, 3/17/2003 9:03:24 PM

Someone said earlier: "Don't you think Daschle and the Dems are feeling a little irrelevant right now?"

To which I say: "Not at all, not at all." LIEberman went on the air an hour before Bush's speech to denouce Bush's unilateral and divisive foriegn policy and then stridently call for the removal of Hussien from power. How can people who vote for Demoncrats be so honkin blind to their hypocrisy?

The dems will not be discouraged at all. They know that the people of the US will forget the war in a few months and they will pick up their demogoguing right where it left off. In spite of the magnificent PRes. Bush our country is doomed because it votes for idiots like the Clintons whose only goal is personal power and aggrandizement.

Reply 98 - Posted by: amereagle, 3/17/2003 9:05:10 PM

By way of explanation (it's hard and I have to resit throwing things at my expensive television) I watch ABC/CBS/NBC and even CNN for small portions of each day because, like the British Crown oppressors my ancestors rose up against, their degradations, lies and propaganda feed the fire of Freedom in my belly and keeps me posting on LDot 24/7 to counter their sedition of the will of Real America.

It's a "know thy enemy" thing.

Dear Heavenly Father
