Quote of The Day
"If you believe that this is really Osama Bin Laden and not one of his many doubles ..."
- Dan Rather while showing the tape on CBC News special report.
It's Alive! One of the most infuriating episodes of the Clinton
administration was his 11th hour pardon of crooks, felons and scoundrels.
Most thought he got away with it but lo and behold, yesterday some of that
sewage floated to the top. Seems a
Manhattan grand jury is alive and well
on the subject of Marc Rich. Here's the NYTimes.
Lowering the Bird: A self-proclaimed Etiquette expert, whatever that
is,
heaps praise on New Yorkers for pocketing their standard one-digit greeting
and behaving nicely.
It's not hard to be nice
when you and all around you
have broken hearts. Wait until they (we) get back to normal. You wanna make
somethin' uh-fit?
Like It Is: Check out Charles Krauthammer's column this morning in
which he
points out: "The essence of unilateralism is that we do not allow others, no
matter how well-meaning, to deter us from pursuing the fundamental security
interests of the United States and the free world.
It is the driving motif of the Bush foreign policy.
And that is the reason it has been so successful."
Something's Missing: American Muslim leaders are worried that the
release of
the Chortling binLaden tape yesterday may make life more difficult for them.
Perhaps
it's not too late for that wholesale condemnation
from that Muslim
community that we've patiently awaited. Guess it's like waiting for Hillary
to go to a fireman's funeral.
Yo, Ahmed. I Gotta Plan: There are many stories from the war of short
term
thinking on the part of the Talibs but this report should win some sort of
prize. 13 wounded Taliban fighters have strapped themselves with explosives
in their hospital beds in a Kandahar hospital and refuse to let anyone near
them but medical staff. Oooooookay. You guys enjoy yourselves.
Turn off the lights before you go boom.
The staff is going home.
Ldotter Question of the Week: Anyone notice how those almost daily
shark
attacks have stopped since 9/11?
Check in this weekend (you can't use the company computer ALL the time) for
our Roundtable. Hint? The media. Also check out the nice folks on our
Support
Thread. Just like the site, it rolls along all night long in case you can't
sleep. Just about anything goes but jumping ugly on another Ldotter.
