Short Cuts

The Thing That Will Never Leave: A data base search shows that Hillary has said, on the record, she's not running 138 times since 2001. Now, that's a lot of times to say anything in life. None of it matters. Talking and writing about Hillary running is a cottage industry for those who insist she has to do it now - because "by 2012, she will be 65 years old." Why would being 65 mean the end of her political career? Some men have run when they were a lot older than that. Determined, self-absorbed people can live forever. How depressing is that?

He Loves the Night Life: Fox fox Rita Cosby reports that Scott Peterson's family is thinking seriously of getting less publicity hungry representation and dumping that oily Mark Garagos. Hearing that he was making the night scene in Modesto (how wild can that be?) with Gary Condit's daughter may have sped their thinking.

We Say It's a Stretch: Gym owners see some kind of bonanza in the fact that Auhnold "The Body" may soon be running the state of California. They think this will get kids exercising. From the picture over at the Drudgereport today, we think the result would be a boom in the sale of posters of the Terminator.

Why Not? Kelsey Grammer, the star of TVs long running "Frazier" told Hannity and Colmes he might run for the Senate as a Republican. What most people don't know is that Grammar is a serious conservative, worked tirelessly to arrange entertainment for the Bush 2000 Inaugural and is a whole lot smarter than his goofy and somewhat precious image on TV.

The Brightest Idea of the Day: At a blog site called The Alliance of Free Blogs it is being suggested that a blog be set up to publish letters and reports from our troops in the war zone. The idea is that the media is giving us nothing but negative stories written by big-butt journos who never leave Baghdad and file "If it bleeds, it leads" screeds that don't tell the real story. Click over and read what they have to say. The time has come. Let's help.

LDotter Note: Our fund raising drive is moving along nicely. Our detractors write here and there on the web that if we are so successful why do we need donations. Well, that's the point. Success means more bandwidth, more staff, more Spam for Igor for pity's sake. Keep it up! We want to be around for Bush - the Reelection. You know where the donation icon is (at the top left of this front page) Go. Click. Think of your mornings, lunch hours and late nights without us. To those who have already contributed, rest now. You've done your bit.
