The Nose Knows: Two interesting tidbits in Nicholas Kristoff's NYTimes column on the ongoing curiosity of the FBI's treatment anthrax "person of interest" Dr. Steven Hatfill catch the eye. l) What seems to be state of the art detection devises, slobbering blood hounds (we kid not) have picked up suspicious scents all around Dr. Hatfill. 2) ABC may have gotten his unpublished manuscript from the copyright office where Kristoff says it had languished for several years and not from the FBI confiscated hard drive of his computer. Sounds like Kristoff has some government sources.

Blame It On The Kid: The Financial Times tells us that Martha Stewart broker Peter Bacanovic's defense was revealed yesterday. He's going to blame it on a lying assistant and say Douglas Faneuil passed inside information to his client. This is too cute by half and it drops the dime on a loyal assistant and a big time client in one move. Bacanovic may never wear chiffon in this town again.

Follow the Bouncing Tidbit: WABC radio talk show hosts John Batchelor and Paul Alexander got an interview with an over served Terry McAuliffe Friday night as he and DLC fatcats lurched around Vegas in a bus with mirrors on the ceiling (nice touch). Newsmax picked it up and John McCaslin in the Washington Times passes it on.

Today's Ka-Ching Thing: A shameless Cynthia McKinney courted Muslim money around the country. It's paying off and rolling in but even that may not be enough to save her. This is a fascinating race and bears watching.

Recommended Read: Hank and Erika Holler's excellent biography of Jane Fonda is reviewed today in the Washington Times. It's not chic to not like Jane Fonda which may account for a certain lack of attention this superb work has received in the mainstream press but that's what we are here for.
