Summer of Leaks: If nothing else convinces you that we are a country headed for Baghdad before the leaves fall, the nearly daily leaking of various battle preparations should suffice. The New York Post, no enemy of the Bushies, front-pages big, fat, satellite maps of our ever expanding air base in Qutar. Someone is trying to tell us something.

Can't Talk Fast Enough: The stock boys who saw to the management of Martha Stewart's investments seem to be tumbling over each other to save their Armani-covered-neither-regions. The NYTimes this morning tries to spin a leak of old information into something that will do permanent damage to the domestic diva.

Save The Trees: Time magazine is currently responsible for an appalling waste of paper, time and two news cycles with it's forced article on Clinton's "Secret" plans to destroy bin Laden. There are several excellent second day deconstructions of this shameful piece of "journalism." Andrewsullivan.com isn't bad.........John Podhoretz is better. The most amazing thing about the Podhoretz column is that it shows he read the entire Time piece. Few can make that claim.

Joe's Long Road: Joe Lieberman, whose voice registers permanent gastric distress, probably wishes he hadn't phoned in to his buddy Don Imus' morning show last Friday. Imus grilled him on Robert Rubin and Joe folded like a cheap suit. What Imus didn't seem to know is that Joe stays out there to keep Hadassah's annual six figure lecture fees rolling in. Maybe next time, if there is one, Don will mention that.

Class Tells: This interesting little political tidbit from the AP speaks well for Jeb Bush. We wonder how long it would take to explain this kind of behavior to the Carville/Bagala/Flynt smear machine.

Neat Site for Ldotters: Many longtime Ldotters (and newbies as well) are military "brats" and by the very nature of their upbringing lost track of buddies and friends. Here's a really cool "brat registry" that may put you in touch with those you had to watch move on or leave behind. If anyone finds that first love who got away let us know. We are suckers for love stories.
