Short Cuts

The "Leedle Vooman" Show Stopper: For whiz-bang, top speed spin-control it would be hard to beat this piece from the LA Times this morning as Maria Shriver Schwarzenegger drop kicks her husband's political career into the laundry hamper. The buzz is that no amount of scrubbing bubbles could wash away the fact that those nasty 'ol tabloids are sitting on so much stuff on Arnie's exuberant time away from the family that any run for any public office would be terminated. From this story in the NY Post it looks as though he was permitted one face saving whimper of protest. Or, was he just humming a few bars of "How do you solve a problem like Maria?"

And They Say We're Nuts: Check out Jed Babbin's more than amusing rundown on some of the nonsense various dem-dwarves are mouthing this summer. When you read it in cold hard print it really sounds like the asylum doors have swung open. We particularly focused on Bob Graham's personal diary. What kind of a mind actually does this, day after day for thirty years? We are fully prepared to learn that he didn't wear a gray suit or eat Fruit Loops on a specific day but lied about it. The entire practice is that loony.

Dueling Demons in the Dark: Hillary's minions have set up yet another web site. This one is to jump-start her 2006 run for reelection to the Senate - or so they say. Here's the fun part. The site also invites supporters to join "Hill's Angels," to "fight back" against a "right wing" that has launched a campaign "to defeat Hillary in 2006" with "the same old politics of personal destruction," including "hate-filled E-mail." We're not unaware of what the "right wing" is up to and so far we've not heard of this launch. Perhaps she's confused by our everyday chatter?

To Blog or Not To Blog: We get a lot of mail concerning blogs (short for web logs) and whether or not they can be posted on this site. The answer has always been "no." But, more and more, blogs are becoming cutting edge of the Internet. There is information on blogs, reliable, filter-free and often startling, that we feel Ldotters should be aware of. Therefore, to save ourselves been being swamped with posts (there are tens of thousands of blogs) we will continue the prohibition on posting but mention the more important sites in Must-Reads and this column. For the time being we will start slowly so you don't overdose on the rich information and recommend www.InstaPundit.com as one of the best and most informative sites.
