Short Cuts

Bring Us The Head of Uday and Qusay: Was it the buck teeth or the diamond pendants spelling out Big Dude? We may never know what made our guys shrug off waiting for a DNA match to get back from some Maryland lab to prove that two of the most despicable human beings ever to walk the earth had finally been wasted. It tests one's religious beliefs to find joy in pain and death but somehow not this time. The Arab press is saying the dastardly duo were "killed in cold blood." What better way? Here are some of the early details on what went down in Mosul.

Mellow Yellow: BJ Clinton must not have made an early score at Scores last night because he had time to ring up the Larry King Live show just long enough to interrupt Bob Dole's very pleasant birthday interview to make "there-there" noises about Bush's "understandable mistakes." It was all a bit self-serving (Duh) and Dole took it pleasantly. One doubts that BJ's fellow dems thought punching a hole in their carefully shrieked 16 Word campaign was such a hot idea.

When They Can't Beat Us....Only a heartbeat ago, the big-media dailies, not to mention most other media, sniffed at online Internet bloggers as know-nothing upstart gossips that would never be taken seriously in their "real" world. How the mighty are getting their attitudes waxed! Here's the most recent example of jealousy management. The Dallas Morning News has started an online web log so their readers can "see how opinions are formed." Sounds like watching sausage to us but welcome to the club.
