"If I had to do this all over again, I'd just let it rip. To hell with the
polls, tactics and all the rest. I would have poured out my heart and my
vision for America's future."
-Citizen Al Gore

Now You Have Found Her, Never Let Her Go: Once again this morning the
media,
in full cry is
shaking Martha Stewart's reputation
like a rag doll. Here the
New York Times connects the friendship/money dots in more depth.
Those who know say the lady has a wafer thin sense of humor,
particularly
about herself. Too bad, having one would have permitted her to show up on
the morning show
to talk about frozen desserts. Now we will never know.
Fun to Watch: There is something very satisfying about watching
the democrat response to anything
bad in the news that they hope they can lay on the
administration. It's
even more fun to watch it not stick.
Here the Christian
Science Monitor notes this futile effort. Here,
Tony Blankley details the behavior
of one of their least effective
practitioners.
Doing Well And Getting Even: The Washington Post makes note of
Solicitor General Ted Olson's accomplishments
this morning in a piece that shows how
when the going gets tough, the tough get going. (We are trying to remember
where we first heard that quote.)
Lousy Food, Portions Too Small: The Taliban Johnny trial grinds along
with
more whining about his meals
from his handlers. Far from being starved and
tortured he was served well and regularly. We wonder about the pork chops
listed, however. Perhaps the hungry Muslim forgot they are a no-no.
It's Always Something: Put down
that bottle of Evian,
you may be killing
yourself. Now comes a story from Reuters that some in the military are
"over-hydrating"
themselves and with this heat we civilians could be next.
LDotter Note: In lieu of Short Cuts for Thursday and Friday we will
be
running a special Fourth of July Roundtable. California houseguesting Igor
will be in charge so be gentle. The Fourth is his favorite holiday and he
would hate to have to jump ugly with anyone who doesn't love this country
the
way he does.
