'Working Walkers' Turning Their Coats: Poor Martha Stewart, done in
by the
very folk she needs to keep her billion dollar souffle puffed. Her broker
and
his assistant seem to have panicked
and are planning to just talk and talk and talk
to investigators. One just can't trust anyone anymore.
Math Anxiety: We were never very good at arithmetic but when the
folks at
Salon.com insist they have accumulated
$76.6 million in losses
over the
past seven years yet the company continues to run debt free, we are forced
to
blink. Reports started midday yesterday that they are about to go under.
Must
be that crushing debt-free load. We will be sorry. We never agreed with
those
folks but they were articulate and energetic and always good ammunition.
Out in the Cold: Furious reporters are being kept 60 miles away from
the G8
summit meeting and coverage of W's doings and it's making them testy. The
Washington Times reports that a White House correspondent, who asked not to
be named, makes a threat that leaves the blood still warm. "There is a
certain arrogance, (from the White House) I think because their approval
ratings are so high. That attitude poisons the relationship,
and I think the press is at the breaking point."
Now that would be worth watching.
Feud Continues: For years, twin sisters "Dear Abby" and "Ann
Landers" were
at each other's throats and it looks as though mere death has not cooled the
cat fight.
Stay tuned.
This one could be fun.
Huge News Helps: Yesterday's news explosion (see Must-Reads for lead
stories) blew Lucianne.com numbers through the roof and gave us the highest
hit stats and page views we have had since we began two years ago. Thanks to
our hard-core, loyal posters, our newbies and even those of you who lurk
(lurkers are loved, as well) this site runs with the big dogs. 99% of you
are
being so sweet about our pesky pop-ups, and almost that many have been more
than active with our little contribution button. For all this and so much
more your frazzled staff thanks you unendingly.
Just remember, for every story you post and/or read, some democrat is
picking
through each sentence with an eye to how they can make it damage the current
administration. So far it's not working.
This newest Gallup poll says it best.
Staff Opening: Lucianne.com needs a full time staff reporter/editor with a minimum of 2 years inside political experience and DC access. Investigative research a must. Ability to write HTML code necessary. This person should be available on short notice 24/7. 32K and up. Please Email resume and writing samples to webmaster@LcomHQ.com.
