Short circuits:
There's no shortage of commentary this morning on the ruling by the 9th
Circuit. The
NYTimes editorial ''One Nation Under God' calls the two short words: 'part
of the backdrop of American life' . And the
Washington Post
with 'One
Nation Under Blank' notes that 'striking down the Pledge of Allegiance while
this country is at war' is, well, blank.
The NY Post says it's 'God-Awful'.
From President Bush:
'Ridiculous'.
Short lived?
The Senate voting for anything 99-0?
Well, they did.
This ruling?
Here's
the LA Times headline: '9th Circuit just following
form' with CBS News calling the 9th circuit '..The most liberal and most
overturned court in the country...'
Short tempers and skirts? (Couric and Coulter) - Two 'Posts' stand
out -
Lloyd Grove
of the Washington Post and
Don Kaplan
of the New York Post.
Short shtuff:
The site is never short of articles and today is no exception. There are
some real goodies hidden back a few pages. Back to the Futures
has 'Hillary' advising 'Martha'..More advice from the threads included this timely study
that concluded 'Obsessive washing is bad for children.' We'll throw in
this gem : Playboy's
women of Enron tell tale of boom to bust.
Short end of the schtick:
When our offices in New York short-circuited Wednesday
afternoon it was our West Coast Staff that kept the site up and running.
They have been updating 'Must Reads' constantly to keep you on top of
the news, and made it possible for this short-staffed Short Cuts to be
produced and published. Don't hate us 'just because we're from
California'.
Lucianne, I'll leave the light on for ya.
