Quote of the day:

"This is not a war against Muslims or Islam or Islamics. It is a war against Islamists and all who support them, and if ever there were a time for clarity, it is now. We hope this new policy is a step in the right direction."

-Lou Dobbs, Host of CNN's Moneyline

W gets it done.

Homeland Shakeup: Reporting on the President's call for a new cabinet department to handle domestic defense, the New York Times writes , " There were considerable signs that the proposal for the agency was put together quickly" and yet anyone in a position to know says these plans have been on the drawing board for months and has massive support in Congress. John Podhoretz in the New York Post feels it was an attempt to change the subject from yesterday's hearings. Either way, the undertaking has shot panic into a lot of bureaucratic hearts and that's a good thing.

Pin Point Bombing: Poor old Yassir must have had his Wamsuttas in a bunch Wednesday night after Israeli tanks blew a hole in his bedroom wall without so much a knocking over his denture soak. The picture and caption that accompanies this New York Post story is priceless.

Bad Weed? Hemp huckster Woody Harrelson took 14 London bobbies for a wild chase after smashing his way out of a cab. He had been with a woman when he hailed the cab but got in alone. Maybe she upset him . As London cabbies are wont to say, "How awkward."

Abduction Update: The forced abduction of 14 year old Salt Lake City girl, Elizabeth Smart is still baffling authorities . When we commented yesterday that there was something fishy about this story our thread led to some Mormon bashing. This is a ridiculously unfair response. The story has nothing to do with her religion and we expect better of Ldotters. What is fair, however is to ask how many of you with 9 year old daughters think your girl could sit on the edge of the bed for hours without telling she had seen her big sister had been kidnapped at gunpoint?
