Note to Barney: This is running. Not just walking. Running. Work on it.

Stretch of the Day: Apparently still stinging from W's put-down of MSNBC's David Gregory's rehearsed little bilingual turn at the Bush/Chirac press conference, the New York Times' Elizabeth Bumiller snippily attacks W's Spanish, comparing him to the last known Spanish-speaking politico - Michael Dukakis.

Picture This: Democrat operatives are still whimpering that Republicans "exploited the tragedy of 9/11" by "selling" a picture of the President on Air Force One the morning of the attack. Here, Roll Call details the success of the campaign. The picture was purchased from Bill Gates' photo agency. Guess that means money-grubbing Gates is profiting from 9/11.

Today's Ka-Ching Thing: In case you missed Mike Doyle's excellent piece in the Modesto Bee yesterday - he reports Condit's original attorney in the Chandra Levy case, Abbe Lowell, received $101,000 from Condit to handle work behind the scenes and in front of the cameras during 2001. Condit paid Lowell with campaign funds. Doyle also reports that "Condit likewise used campaign funds to pay nearly $17,000 to Marina Ein, a Washington-based public relations specialist. Ein had never met Condit before."

Hit The Snooze Alarm: All you media junkies who thought you'd get a Monday morning jolt of schadenfreude from the much promoted Ken Auletta dissection of the "new" New York Times - roll over and catch some more shut-eye. We will have it posted as soon as they do but in the meantime here's Howard Kurtz's overview. It appears the biggest "news" is that Washington staff "star" Jill Abramson is really, really upset with having to talk on the speaker phone. Poor baby. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Diane's Blonde Moment: In a move that looked like blatant pandering to California's Norwegian vote , Diane Feinstein came out for racial profiling on Wolf Blitzer's "Late Edition" Sunday.
