And The Loser Is...Michael Medved in the Wall Street Journal writes about the know-nothing anti-Americanism of the Hollywood set better than dozens of other columns written since the Oscars. All one need remember from their sorry show is that there are 250,000 men and women volunteers who have offered to die for you and what you believe in. Susan Sarandon isn't one of them.

Gulf Two's Desert Muffin: Gulf One gave us Arthur Kent, the Scud Stud, a Brit reporter who did nothing more than duck the sound of incoming missiles a block away from his hotel roof. The star of Gulf Two appears to be NBCCNBCMSNBC's formerly puffed up David Bloom. Embedded in the crawl space of a tank, the once slicked back hair flopping in his eyes, screaming into a 60 mile an hour wind to be heard, the Ben Affleck of the pink-tie stand-ups has morphed into David of the Desert. Howie Kurtz feels he's doing a damn fine job. He is.

Massed Psychosis: The barking moonbats of the left plan to "shut down" Manhattan tomorrow by staging disruptions in midtown including a "die-on" at Rockefeller Center. (Don't they know Katie Couric won't be able to get home?) This brilliant idea might cause New York Mayor and Super Nanny Michael Bloomberg to stop whining about those who enjoy a cigarette with a cocktail and threaten them all with a night or two in Riker's Island. Tiny, Spike and Bruce await them all.

Mrs. Povich Goes Home: Ted Turner is supposed to have recently caught Connie Chung on screen at CNN Hdq. in Atlanta and asked, "Why is that woman on television?" Well, now she isn't. One imagines the collective viewing public asking Connie what her show was supposed to be and adding, "Just whisper in our ear, we won't tell anyone."

There is a lot of bad news on the site this morning. This AP story is an example. We must not let one or two days or weeks of such grimness weaken or depress us. In W's words: "We shall prevail. God bless our fighting men and women. God Bless America."
