Short Cuts

LDotter Note: If there is an upside to asking people for money to run this site it is definitely the mail we get. Here's just one of hundreds we've received in the last week.

"We need you. We don't mean to scare you but, think what your day would be like without us." I was telling my husband yesterday that your comment provoked some thought. I've been traipsing around the Internet for over 20 years and it really has become part of my life. A valuable part. It connects me with the world on my time, my schedule, my choices. I can keep up with news and politics, buy and sell things, participate in discussions (I've managed a couple of fora in the past), laugh, donate, develop relationships, share my writings and photos, affect government, sip coffee while a cat snoozes on my lap as I read in-depth pieces, and learn about people like Hindraker, Krauthammer, Steyn, Noonan, et al. Most fun, though, is watching the blogosphere eclipse the mainstream media as the formidable cyberpower it is.
But you know, Lucianne, your website has given me more pleasure and information than any other of its kind I can remember. So thanks heaps and please don't go anywhere we can't follow.
Serious and grateful regards,
