Dems Enron Globe Gets Warmer: Jerry Seper's piece in this morning's
Washington Times neatly outlines
Enron's generosity to Clinton and the defunct company's keen interest in global warming
But, let's not jump to conclusions. We need to hear from Mr. Waxman
first.
Mr. Gallup Regrets? The new Gallup poll drops a qualifying "yet" into the
headline on a report of their latest results of a poll on Enron's effect on
Bush. As in: Enron Scandal Has Yet to Taint Bush Administration. For some,
hope springs eternal for this non-starter.
Tiny Tidbits From The Scandal Trail: That Condit/Chandra Grand Jury we all
forgot about has been quietly working away and hasn't forgotten about the
missing D.C. intern - the New York Post reports. Seems
Condit has quietly hired that showbiz media hound, Mark Geragos as his new
lawyer and this August, drove to Washington in a diesel-powered semi-trailer
(?) to avoid the press stake out at airport.
Rumble rumble.
A Mayor and His Money: New York's new billionaire mayor Mike Bloomberg is a
regular
Mr. Scatter-Cash
as he writes nearly a million in personal checks to
his campaign staff. He also has his own jet, lives in his own townhouse not
the official residence and gives new passion to the idea of electing rich men.
Back To Basics: Paul Farhi at the Washington Post does a sprightly job of
analyzing why Enron is not grasping the national scandal gland and points out
that a really good scandal must be simple: Simple nouns, simple verbs and
simple outrage.
How's "Clinton Is Impeached for Lying" for a pure scandal
that works?
