Two Miramar SWAT officers suspended
for heading to Parkland massacre

Sun Sentinel (Fort Lauderdale, FL), by Linda Trischitta

When a gunman started shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, two Miramar SWAT team members did what comes naturally: They went to help. Now they’ve been suspended for it. The officers did not have permission to respond to the shooting at Parkland on Feb. 14, when 17 people were killed. And that created an officer safety issue and left them unaccountable for their actions, according to their police department. But their union reacted differently. “While it may have been a violation of policy to not notify their supervisors that they were going there, their intentions were brave and heroic, I think,” Broward County

Comments:
I just don´t understand this. It is stunning to me that this an ´indefinite removal´ and they had to surrender their SWAT rifles. That sure sounds extremely harsh to me. A simple reprimand could have sufficed considering the incompetence that permeated this entire horrific event. It´s especially shocking coming from a union. Their priorities sure are screwed up down there.

Contd. FTA: “While it may have been a violation of policy to not notify their supervisors that they were going there, their intentions were brave and heroic, I think,” Broward County PBA President Jeff Marano said Wednesday."

They sound like heroes to me! Their behavior was sure more appropriate than many of the incompetents at the scene.

If the pro gun control group wanted to create a large casualty list, they would not want trained swat officers to arrive, and would hope the sheriffs deputies were trained to hide.

I’m afraid I’m seeing things as #2 sees them.

Why doesn’t the DimoKKKrap party want to vet immigrants? Because they want some immigrants to commit heinous violence so that the Dims can “protect” the innocent immigrants from the “redneck Republican backlash” that never happens.

The Dims LOVE school casualties.

And of course the paralyzed Bureaucracy must enforce its paralysis.

They are disgusting people.

Our world is upside down. I can hardly believe this. However, that said, I firmly believe, these officers knew the consequences of their actions and gladly accepted them. Were they to get to do it over, they would do it the same way. I know I would.

And that´s why I´m glad I´m retired from law enforcement. The officers out in the field get no backing from their organization or the government they work for.
It´s just not the same job it was years ago. It seems to have changed drastically after Ferguson.

Set a perimeter order pizza coffee and donuts, wait till the shooting stops. Order everyone left alive out with their hands up, let the shooter file out with the others and get away. At least no officers were injured.

In military circles this sort of activity is called "riding to the sound of cannons". Why so important? To influence the action as quickly as possible. My salute to these men.

Sounds to me that whoever is punishing these men needs to lose their jobs if not more.

They probably knew what would happen with the promise program in place or heard the Broward Commander give the stand-down order to their officers.

Lets stomp all over these self important bureaucrats who believe they are more important than the people thy swore to serve.

And one more thing. Here´s a question for all of you: Recently, a show titled ´the Push´ aired. If that show was NOT a put on - how much easier would it be for the Deep State´s paid psychologists to find and push angry, abused teenagers into violence for the purpose of destroying the protection of the second Amendment? We know both the Russians and the CIA have been researching how to manipulate people for years.

How unlikely is it that our power-hungry Washington Establishment ´Lifers´ would not use what was at their fingertips?

I don´t understand all the complaining about this kind of thing.
We are talking about the government, not rational competent people.
That is why depending on the government for security is stupid and wrong headed.
It is also why our founding fathers expected that we would be armed, and why Jesus directed us to go about armed.
Gunshots at a school in an urban area? Why did not 100 men run to the sound?

What´s not to understand? It´s obvious the upper ranks of law enforcement have been infested with libtards who believe their underlings shouldn´t respond because it goes against their plan for more gun control and the eventual loss of the 2nd Amd. Look at the school district which got into an agreement with the local police that they are not to arrest any of their nut job students because it would mean loss of money under Barry´s program to keep criminal statistics in school districts down. The further it goes down by hook or by crook, the more money they get.

If they had informed their higher-ups of their intent and their actions, they wouldn´t have been disciplined. It was a breach of protocol as much as the Broward County sheriff deputies´ failure to engage the shooter immediately. If they had been off-duty, I don´t think they would have been disciplined, but they were on the job and acted outside of their jurisdiction without authorization.

Of course they were brave and heroic, but that´s not the point. There´s a limit to how much freelancing may be done among the ranks.

I doubt this will be a career-ender for either of them. And they will likely be restored to the SWAT detail. Next time, God forbid, they´ll call in and then act.

That wasn’t happening, so I decided to step in and see what I could do to help a little bit.” Here are other portions of her interview where Gates specifically says some criteria

The rhetorical attacks on incoming National Security Council Executive Secretary Fred Fleitz (the author’s former colleague) have been shrill and ineffective. Conservatives have rallied to Fleitz’ defense, bolstered in part by Fleitz’s long history of work as a Central Intelligence Agency analyst, State Department official, and House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence staffer, along with his solid reputation working on Iran and nonproliferation-related issues. According to Trump administration insiders, the White House blames Obama allies and Iran deal advocates for ginning up the non-controversy, and there’s no indication of a willingness to surrender the scalp of a long-time national security
