The parents of a GOP candidate for the US Senate in Wisconsin have made the maximum contributions allowed in the race — to their son’s rival.Kevin Nicholson announced in July that he would seek the Republican nomination to challenge incumbent Sen. Tammy Baldwin in the 2018 mid-term elections. In December, his parents – Donna and Michael Nicholson – each donated the maximum amount – $2,700 – to Baldwin, CNN reported.Nicholson said he’s not surprised his parents would contribute to Baldwin, since they’ve always backed Democrats.“My parents have a different worldview than I do, and it is not surprising that they would

Hardly surprising. Dems have proven time and again that loyalty to the party comes before Loyalty to country, loyalty to family, and loyalty to God.

Wow. If anything defines what it´s like to be a "progressive", this is it. Politics above family. I´m proud of the son for escaping the lunacy in his home.

There is more to this story, I imagine. Certainly passive aggressive behavior on the part of the parents. Voting for his opponent is one thing, but contributing the maximum to the opponent´s campaign is downright pathological.

It hurts to say, but reminds me of Monica´s parents and sadly, Seth Rich´s parents.

Party above family. Even unto death. Heartbreaking.

Like I´ve been telling friends for a long time now, the dems are like the old soviet apparatchik. The communist party. They always put party ahead of country or anything else.

Gerry Marsden walked into Liverpool’s ODEON cinema for a Laurel and Hardy film. It was raining when he started to leave, so he decided to stay for the second part of the double feature and watch the comedy duo one more time. And with that, a part of soccer history was born. Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Carousel” was the other movie, and Marsden perked up during the second half. “I thought what a beautiful song. I’m going to tell my band we’re going to play that song,” the 75-year-old Marsden recalled last week. “So I went back and told my buddies we’re

It is easy to corrupt the greedy man. It is another to corrupt a heroic man. Yet within each of us lurks a dark corner that, unless we implore God to shine His light into it, can corrupt us. If anyone doubts this, consider the tragic story of Randall "Duke" Cunningham. For those who may not know enough about him, here is an excerpt from Wikipedia: Cunningham was an officer and pilot in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. Cunningham and Radar Intercept Officer (RIO) William P. "Irish" Driscoll, working as a flight crew, became the only navy flying aces

A commemorative coin featuring the faces of Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un has gone on sale at the White House gift shop for a discount after the US canceled its planned summit with North Korea. The coins were listed on the gift shop´s website for $19.95 as the ´Deal of the Day´ on Thursday, down from its usual price of $24.95. At a CNN town hall Wednesday night, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, age 78, was asked if it´s time for "some members to return to private service and to encourage younger folks to run for office." The audience applauded, and Pelosi (D-Calif.) asked the questioner, "Should I take that personally?" The woman who asked the question prefaced it by noting that more than half the senators running for re-election are over age 65. "You´re not in the Senate," host Chris Cuomo told Pelosi. "So you´re good." (Video) Pelosi then answered the question, making the point that age doesn´t have much

I am an ordinary voter living far from the Beltway who feels gaslighted by our political and media establishments regarding the Russia investigation. Our current Yanny versus Laurel political moment is probably confusing even for professional political commentators. But for ordinary Americans it is a bewildering, disorienting spectacle. Which is it: Is Donald Trump a threat to the republic, or is the deep state the threat? Was the Russia investigation legit, or was it concocted by an out-of-control Federal Bureau of Investigation and Central Intelligence Agency? Was it an FBI “informant,” or was it a “spy”? Has America become Venezuela,

NFL club owners are considering potential 15-yard penalties for kneeling during the national anthem among ways of coping with a backlash over player protests, Sports Illustrated reported Tuesday. According to a story on the magazine´s website, owners set aside three hours to talk about the anthem issue, which President Donald Trump elevated into a major controversy last year. Ideas to handle players kneeling during the anthem included allowing home teams to decide if players should be out of the locker room during the pre-game playing of The Star-Spangled Banner or not.If players are on the sideline, then 15-yard

Doing so violates their First Amendment right to free speech because Twitter is a “public forum,” Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald wrote in a landmark ruling that could change how public officials use Twitter. “We reject the defendants’ contentions that the First Amendment does not apply in this case and that the President’s personal First Amendment interests supersede those of plaintiffs,” the judge wrote in her 75-page ?decision.
