as Rand Paul Blocks Vote

WASHINGTON— The government stumbled into a midnight shutdown Thursday as a rogue Senate Republican blocked a speedy vote on a massive, bipartisan, budget-busting spending deal, protesting the return of trillion-dollar deficits on the watch of Republicans controlling Washington. A shutdown — technically a lapse in agency appropriations — became inevitable as GOP Sen. Rand Paul repeatedly held up votes on the budget plan, which is married to a six-week government-wide spending measure. The Senate recessed around 11 p.m. with plans to reconvene just after midnight.Paul was seeking a vote on reversing

At least someone has a sense of honor. If we ran our personal finances the way they run the national ones, we´d be in prison.

This 700 page document was delivered at midnight Wednesday night and scheduled to go to a vote Thursday night to prevent a shutdown.

Question: How many Senators and Congressmen read this thing. A speed reader at 1200 words a minute would have spent 6 hours plus wading through this document. The average reader at 300 words a minute....! Well, you get the picture.

As interest rates are poised to rise, we are looking at a situation where the INTEREST on the debt we all owe, will be overwhelming and unsustainable.

Hemingway was once asked how he found himself to be bankrupt. He replied,´It happened slowly.....then suddenly!´

I fear for the future of my children and grandchildren when that happens! And it appears it will!

I think we need to rebuild our military or we´re going to see the first Nuke come to us! That takes Billions. We can take the money the Democrats would use to support those MILLIONS of Dreamers and their families and give it to the Military. If Dreamers want to stay here, they should NOT be a burden on our country. If they are on welfare, it should be cut off NOW. Then move to the millions of Americans who are on welfare who are able bodied and cut them off. You see where I´m going with this. We have the money to fund our military IF we quit using it foolishly. Quit sending BILLIONS to foreign countries that hate us. Quit using our military to defend foreign countries who should have formed their own military 50 years ago! Why haven´t any of our members of Congress brought this up? It´s common sense! Not much of that in Washington these days!

President Donald Trump met with parents of children on Wednesday who were killed by MS-13 gang members, promising to continue deporting illegal immigrant gangs and secure the Southern border. One father praised the president for describing the gang members as “animals” despite the controversy that followed. “I think you used the correct word. Animals. That they are,” said Freddy Cuevas, the father of a girl murdered by MS-13 said. “They took her away from us and destroyed her dream.” Both the girls, Kayla Cuevas and Nisa Mickens, were killed in September 2016, by MS-13 gang members beating them to death

Remember when Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi unveiled their "Better Deal" agenda last year? Even MSNBC mocked it. “A Better Deal” is “not terribly bold,” and doesn’t connect with people, analyst Eugene Robinson said at the time. “There’s nothing there that sort of punches you in the gut." "The branding is awful," Vanity Fair added. The Democrats were trying to echo Franklin Delano Roosevelt´s "New Deal." The only problem was that their effort was "vague and cautious." Well, the same top Democrats gave it another go this week, in hopes of getting their message out to voters six months ahead of

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., shut down a Democratic member of his panel on the House floor Wednesday when asked if Democrats could attend a planned briefing Thursday with Republicans on an FBI informant that made contact with members of President Trump´s campaign. “I’m not going to play that game," Nunes responded to Rep. Joaquin Castro, according to the Texas Democrat speaking to CNN. The White House announced Tuesday that it only planned to brief two Republican lawmakers because only they have been asking the Justice Department to see documents related to how the special counsel Robert Mueller’s

A Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper discovered nearly 90 illegal immigrants packed like human cargo in the back of a tractor-trailer in South Texas. The discovery came following a traffic stop. The DPS trooper stopped an 18-wheeler headed northbound on U.S. Highway 77 near Raymondville, Texas, on Tuesday night. After obtaining permission to search the vehicle, the trooper found nearly 90 illegal immigrants locked in the truck’s trailer with no way of escape. After finding the human cargo, the trooper called Border Patrol officials and emergency medical services to evaluate and treat the migrants,

Democrat Rep. Al Green (D-TX) had harsh words for President Trump late Tuesday, warning that if Democrats retake the House of Representatives in November, they´ll begin the 2019 legislative session with articles of impeachment, even if Trump hasn´t done anything to require it. Speaking to C-Span, Rep. Green suggested that he has the "right and privilege" to impeach the president, even absent evidence that the president has committed "high crimes" or "misdemeanors" by virtue of the U.S. Constitution. "There’s a good likelihood there will be articles of impeachment” brought against the President, Rep. Green said.

President Donald Trump´s son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, had his White House security clearance restored Wednesday, a person familiar with the matter said, after months of uncertainty stemming in part from his role in the ongoing investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller. Kushner was stripped of his interim clearance in February amid an overhaul of procedures governing access to the nation´s most sensitive secrets following the resignation of Rob Porter, the President´s staff secretary, who had been allowed to remain in his post for months despite allegations of spouse abuse. After about thirteen years of being a loyal customer of Netflix, the time has come for me to say goodbye. (Snip) Given that I’m a conservative, one might be inclined to believe my choice to leave Netflix is predicated upon the company’s most recent decision to partner with Barack and Michelle Obama’s new company, called “Higher Ground Productions,” to produce loads of new content. And in a way, I guess that’s correct. But this choice by Netflix has not alone led me to this decision. Rather, this was the straw that finally broke the camel’s back -- the latest in a series of indicators that the network has become little more than a

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer fumed Tuesday over the Trump administration´s "outrageous" decision to exclude Democrats from an upcoming meeting in which Justice Department officials will give House Republicans documents related to the FBI´s investigation into potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. Republican lawmakers had been demanding DOJ release the classified documents for months. “The only thing more outrageous than this meeting occurring at all is the fact that it’s now partisan,” the New York Democrat said. “It is crystal clear that Chairman Nunes’ intent is to interfere with the investigation, and Speaker Ryan is allowing it to

Former Attorney General Eric Holder on Monday urged Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI officials to "simply say no" to President Trump´s demand for an expanded investigation into his claims of FBI wrongdoing as it relates to his campaign. "More DOJ norms being eroded. Trump-a SUBJECT of the investigation-wants access to material related to the inquiry," Holder tweeted. (Snip) His latest criticism of the president came as Trump and his allies have claimed, without evidence, that an FBI informant spied on his campaign for political purposes. On Sunday, Trump said he would demand the DOJ investigate the matter.

Saturday was Jacob Kosinski´s big day. His whole family, many from out of town, saw the Charleston, South Carolina, student graduate from his Christian-based homeschool program with a 4.79 grade point average and the coveted honor of summa cum laude. His mother, Cara Koscinski organized a graduation party for her 18-year-old son. For the occasion, she ordered a cake online from her nearest grocery store, Publix, which lets customers build their own cakes complete with a customized inscription, which they enter into a little message box. Carefully, she typed in the message she wanted on the cake: "Congrats Jacob!

NFL club owners are considering potential 15-yard penalties for kneeling during the national anthem among ways of coping with a backlash over player protests, Sports Illustrated reported Tuesday. According to a story on the magazine´s website, owners set aside three hours to talk about the anthem issue, which President Donald Trump elevated into a major controversy last year. Ideas to handle players kneeling during the anthem included allowing home teams to decide if players should be out of the locker room during the pre-game playing of The Star-Spangled Banner or not.If players are on the sideline, then 15-yard
