Those ingrates in Congress had better behave -- or Alex and Daniela Velez are going to leave the United States.Folks, I hope it does not get any loonier than this. People who should not be in the country are threatening to leave if we don´t let them stay in the country. As threats go, that is like being banned from Iran. Oh, how will America fill its need for entitled, self-righteous twentysomethings. Thank goodness the Kennedy Clan keeps procreating. "Alexa and Daniela Velez have come to peace with the difficult choice they will need to make if Congress doesn´t reach a deal for those covered

The "Truth" is this: Our open border is the greatest foreign aid package ever. And now, one hopes, it has run its course. The children, the so-called "Dreamers" hava an opportunity to take their education and likely bi-lingual skills back to their home countries to improve the lot of their legitimate countrymen in ways no remittances can. They have a historic opportunity to make that difference they claim to dream about...if they will go home. In addition, if they indeed love the United States, and they should for all it has done for them (rather than to them), it will increase the ability of these countries to build and develop themselves. Returning is hardly a bad thing given the right perspective.

If these people want to stay, why don´t they apply for citizenship and go through the legal process? Why do they expect to have any special privilege over others?

I suppose it is because they are infected with the entitlement syndrome.

Whenever people announce that they are going on a hunger strike, I say let them.

They are only hurting themselves.

This is exactly the same thing.

This sounds like even more reasons not to pass a DACA law, and to actually enforce the immigration laws on the books (that would require these "dreamers" to be deported).

They are welcome to go back to the lands of their births and apply for legal immigration. If they are all such outstanding people -- educated, hard working, professional, law abiding (other than that pesky being here illegally) -- they should have no problem getting a merit-based green card. Then they can apply for citizenship through LEGAL channels.

What a concept!!!

Yet another chapter in U.S. foreign policy’s history of ignorant, bloody, expensive, futile, counterproductive attempts to reshape foreign societies ended with Muqtada al-Sadr’s decisive victory in last week’s Iraqi elections. He won despite the U.S government’s all-out support for puppet Prime Minister Haider al Abadi (who came in last), and after a decade and a half of U.S. occupation and war. Its most intense part, “the surge,” was directed largely against Sadr. On the bright side, the Wall Street Journal reported, in fact, the person best placed and most likely to pursue the one objective that is in America’s own interest:

Brian Kemp isn’t a political candidate to mince words. Some call him crazy. Others say he’s rude. Yet there is also a growing number of Georgia voters thinking he should be that state’s next governor. Call it the “Trump Effect” or simply Americans tired of being attacked for believing in common-sense values of smaller government, a strong military, and protected borders, but candidates like Kemp are shaking up the status-quo and that’s likely a good thing. It’s certainly interesting. As of yesterday, Mr. Kemp is now in second place and climbing among all Georgia GOP governor candidates. (Video)

The informant, an American academic who teaches in Britain, made contact late that summer with one campaign adviser, George Papadopoulos, according to people familiar with the matter. The President, who is usually especially active on the social media network early in the day, did not tweet anything all morning about the nuptials between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, which ended at 9.00am ET. Rumors swirled about whether Trump would be invited to the wedding at Windsor Castle in Berkshire, but he was eventually left off the guest list, along with other political leaders.
