NY Democrat Lawmakers Push Bill to

Two New York state lawmakers are pushing legislation that would ban manufacturers from making laundry detergent pods that look edible. New York City Democrats State Sen. Brad Holyman and Assemblywoman Aravella Simotas introduced legislation Tuesday in Albany that would prohibit manufacturers from making detergent pods that look like candy or other edible items, the Associated Press reported. The bills, proposed in the New York State Assembly and Senate, would require detergent packets to be one color, have packaging that is not see-through, and carry warnings about the risk of poisoning if pods are ingested. “Bright colored detergent pods look like candy, they look

Good. Grief. Democrats doing what they do best. Passing a ridiculous law that will never stop stupidity. All they do is reactionary that never solves any problems but creates more control by the government.

Print a skull and crossbones on them with a poison warning but let them come with Little Dipper packs of ranch dressing and an online application for the Darwin Award.

What a brilliant marketing strategy, make your product look as ugly as possible. 1) You could print Schumer´s face on each pod. 2) You could accept the inevitable and make them peppermint flavored to cover that yucky soap taste.

How about passing a bill to get mental health treatment for anyone who would eat one of these pods. Who knows what that might prevent down the line.

My idea was to put Nancy Pelosi´s face on the packets. Make sure she has on bright red lipstick and is smiling. That would scare anyone away.

One possibility that doesn´t seem to have been considered is adding denatonium benzoate, the most bitter substance known, to the detergent capsule. It´s already used in such products as nail polish remover and denatured alcohol to discourage people from consuming them. It´s also the active ingredient in some animal repellents and anti-nail-biting preparations. This substance is vile-tasting enough that nobody should be able to choke one down.

Oh for gosh sakes. For the little kiddies, mom and dad need to keep all things potentially dangerous up and away from little ones. I had child proof latches put on some of my cupboard doors. Form the laundry room I had a high shelf installed for potentially harmful items. Now if the older kids think this is a fun thing partaking of the harmful pod tasting, then let them get a really bad tummy ache or worse. Maybe then they will rethink their foolishness.
As for the lawmakers, is this what the voters sent you to Washing to do???

Require English proficiency for resident aliens.

Stop lottery and chain migration policies and instead adopt a merit based immigration policy based on the Canadian model.

Support remedial English programs in high-need neighborhoods.

Don´t promote students to a higher grade if they haven´t attained the required literacy level.

When people can read the labels, they won´t have to rely on the labels design to figure out what´s inside.

Of course, no self-respecting Democrat would ever vote for any of the above suggested policies. Racist, doncha you know.

To a child, they look like candy. Even to an unsuspecting adult they can look tasty. They´re convenient because there´s no messy powder or liquid spilling everywhere. Maybe they should put spikes on the surface of the pod to deter consumption.

What causes mass shootings
and how we stop them
Indianapolis Star, by Gary Varvel    Original Article

“How many times is this going to go on until the American people say enough is enough?” Florida Sen. Bill Nelson asked in response to the latest school shooting in Parkland, Fla., where 17 died. (Snip) This violence didn´t occur when I was growing up. So what is causing it? I have three theories. First: America has a moral problem. In his farewell address, George Washington said, “Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid

Adam Rippon, in his own words, is “not a gay icon or America’s gay sweetheart.” No, “I am just America’s sweetheart. And I am just an icon.” (Snip) This will come as little surprise to those who have been following these Olympic Games. Even before the Games began, Rippon, one of the first openly gay male athletes to compete for the United States in an Olympics, was in the headlines over a feud with Vice President Mike Pence. Since, he’s become one of the most recognizable stars of these Olympics, a celebrated member of the gay community, as well as

A Teacher of the Year at a Florida middle school posted a Facebook message that has since gone viral saying parents need to “step up” when it comes to their kids’ behavior. Friday on MSNBC’s “All In,” Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) said Russian interference with U.S. elections and political processes that resulted in 13 indictments against Russian nationals was “equivalent” to the attack on Pearl Harbor by Japanese in 1941. Partial transcript as follows: NADLER: My reaction to the news is this is absolute proof of what we knew all along and what the president has denied, namely that we were attacked. This is a very serious attack against the United States by a hostile foreign power, an attack against our election process, our entire governing process. We know that the attack

The Bolshevik Revolution turned 100 last October. As Friday’s indictment of Russia´s Internet Research Agency reminds us, it´s been 100 years of tyrannical and murderous Russian regimes working to subvert democracy wherever they can and distort American public opinion by any means they can devise. (Snip) As of this week, Mark Zuckerberg, owner of Facebook, is now directly colluding with Putin to influence world opinion in favor of the tyrant´s regime. It’s happening before your very eyes. Zuckerberg created one of the world’s largest and most important platforms for spreading news and information — and fake news and disinformation. It was

The specificity here is pretty damning. The FBI released a stunning admission today admitting they received prior a specific warning about Broward County Nikolas Cruz and his threats to carry out a school shooting. The FBI took no action. (Snip) The backdrop of this admission is especially troublesome as the FBI previously also admitted they were forewarned about the Tsarnaev brothers in the Boston Marathon Bombing 2013 and did nothing; and perhaps even more disturbing was the prior warning about the 2016 Orlando Pulse Nightclub shooter Omar Mateen. Federal deportation officers staged one of the biggest enforcement actions in years against businesses in Los Angeles this week, arresting 212 people and serving audit notices to 122 businesses who will have to prove they aren’t hiring illegal immigrants. Nearly all of those arrested were convicted criminals, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. ICE said it targeted Los Angeles because it’s a sanctuary city, meaning it refuses to fully cooperate with federal authorities on deportations from within its jails. That means agents and officers have to go out into the community, said Thomas D. Homan, the agency’s deputy director.

San Salvador - Last week, President Trump torpedoed an immigration deal put forward by a bipartisan group of senators. The Senate responded by rejecting his own, harsher plan. By the end of the week, the immigration debate seemed deadlocked between the fate of the Dreamers and the fate of the wall. But one thing is clear: Any plan that purports to make America safer by making it harder for immigrants to obtain legal status and increasing deportations will actually do the opposite. These proposals, embraced by Mr. Trump, are the same decades-old policies that helped transform Mr. Trump’s archenemy, Mara Salvatrucha
