Well he hasn´t resigned yet, maybe he will resign like Franken, in weeks or months or when it is politically convenient.

How sad that so many are being accused of sexual harassment. I wonder how many more will be accused.

Are we really getting to where rumors about rumors cause people to resign before they´re dismissed with no due process?

Read the article, but I´m confused as to the problem with Franks. Were the female staffers "sexually harassed" or were they a couple of snowflakes merely uncomfortable with a discussion of his personal route to parenthood via surrogacy? Would be interesting to learn who first broached the subject.

From America’s Catholic bishops to prominent Christian pastor Jim Wallis, congressional Republicans’ push for an overhaul of the tax code has been called nothing less than ungodly. The debate about tax rates and income numbers has taken on pointedly religious overtones, with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, citing Pope Francis and St. Augustine in attacking the bill and saying it would signify Armageddon. Mr. Wallis led a protest against the tax plan at the Hart Senate Office Building, reading Bible verses before he was escorted away by Capitol Police. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops released a lengthy

Fox News reported that McCabe’s interview will be rescheduled for next week. The Justice Department told the network that the cancellation was due to a “routine scheduling error.”A Congressional source told The Daily Caller that the excuse is “very hard to believe.” A source also told

Thousands of Angelenos whose movements, clothing and even relationships were tightly restricted under gang injunctions were released from those court orders this year, marking a dramatic reduction in the use of a crime fighting tool once hailed as an innovative answer to the city´s violent street gangs. The purge of names comes amid growing debate about whether the injunctions still make sense in an era of declining crime and gang activity. Officials took the actions after a joint audit of the gang injunction rolls was conducted by the Los Angeles city attorney´s office and Los Angeles police in 2016. "These individuals,

Recognizing the problems inherent in the hysteria surrounding the #MeToo campaign, which the media and politicians are heralding as a pivotal moment in our culture, should not require a difficult intellectual exercise. It was once conventional wisdom gleaned from history. But given that modern media narratives serve more to reshape history than to appropriately understand and learn from it, perhaps a brief history discussion is in order. All you have to do is remember the first famous #MeToo campaign to take place in the Americas. Salem Village, 1692.Young girls, caught up in the frenzied hysteria of rampant devilry and witchcraft

In the midst of much hand-wringing and anguished sighs, the Huffington Post has announced to its readers that after his first year in office “Trump Is Winning.” “This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write and admit,” begins Earl Ofari Hutchinson in his essay, “Trump is winning.” Hutchinson, an author and co-host of the Al Sharpton Show, observes that according to numerous indicators the Trump presidency is a success, beginning with his delivery of a long list of campaign promises. Among Mr. Trump’s many victories, Hutchinson enumerates Mick Mulvaney’s appointment to head the Consumer Financial Protection

Bill Staehle, who served with Alabama Senate candidate Judge Roy Moore in Vietnam, stood onstage Monday night during a rally in Midland City, Alabama, delivering a rousing character testimony of his war buddy and defending him from what he saw as incoming political fire. “I looked into his eyes. Last time I had seen him he was wearing jungle fatigues,” he said. “And I tell you, people of Alabama, he’s the same guy.” “He’s honorable, disciplined, morally straight, highly principled — the same qualities we would hope to have in all of our elected officials but don’t,” he said, prompting

Alabama talk radio host Dale Jackson ripped CNN and the rest of the mainstream media on Sunday during an episode of “Reliable Sources” with host Brian Stelter, as he explained why people do not trust the network. During the segment, Stelter was trying to understand why people in Alabama were still supporting Roy Moore after explosive allegations published by The Washington Post several weeks ago. “Why in the world would people believe the things that are said if it’s always negative over and over and over and over again?” Jackson said. “That weaponizes the term fake news.” Jackson continued, “The bottom

The NFL protests have been lucrative for social justice charities — they´ll receive a whopping $89 million in "settlement" money, redirected from veterans and breast cancer charity funds — but they´re also becoming a boon for cash-strapped football fans. It turns out, if you can still stomach a professional football game, you can now get tickets for about the same price as a couple of Starbucks lattes. According to Vivid Seats, an NFL ticket reselling site, seat prices at most NFL stadiums have bottomed out, leaving fans able to snag a lower level seat for a Buffalo Bills game for

In 1990, when liberal journalists still had some sense of obligation to the truth, Michael Kelly wrote the following for GQ: As [Carla] Gaviglio enters the room, the six-foot-two, 225-plus-pound [Sen. Ted] Kennedy grabs the five-foot-three, 103-pound waitress and throws her on the table. She lands on her back, scattering crystal, plates and cutlery and the lit candles. Several glasses and a crystal candlestick are broken. Kennedy then picks her up from the table and throws her on [Sen. Chris] Dodd, who is sprawled in a chair. On Monday, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour President Donald Trump should resign over the sexual misconduct allegations against him. Gillibrand said, “President Trump should resign. These allegations are credible, they are numerous. I’ve heard these women’s testimony, and many of them are heartbreaking. And President Trump should resign his position.” She added, “Whether he will ever hold himself accountable is something you really can’t hold your breath for. And so, Congress should have hearings. They should do their investigation. They should have appropriate investigations of his behavior and hold him accountable.”

A supposed "rising star" at the State Department has resigned in anger over President Trump´s and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson´s policies. Elizabeth Shackelford gave her resignation letter to the left-leaning Foreign Policy magazine, which was, of course, all too happy to publish it. Shackelford´s letter says she believes the new administration has abandoned human rights as a priority, and shows disdain for the State Department´s diplomatic work. "I have deep respect for the career Foreign and Civil Service staff who, despite the stinging disrespect this Administration has shown our profession, continue the struggle to keep our foreign policy on the positive

What´s the point of it? Why do you find joy in taking innocent people and finding a way to be mean to them,´ Keaton asked his mother through tears. ´It´s not okay,´ he said. The rules of interaction between women and men in the workplace have been changed with a suddenness that inevitably produces unforeseen negative consequences, no matter how positive and necessary the switch might be. (snip) With the stakes so high, given the presumption of female veracity and male culpability anytime an objection is raised, men are, frankly, terrified. Get used to it, ladies. That is the other side of the coin of the new normal. The old norms that men (often cluelessly) incorporated into their behavior now have been discarded, but we have no clear understanding of what should replace them. By
