FORNEY, Texas - George Zimmerman, the former Florida neighborhood watch leader cleared of all charges in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, was pulled over for speeding in North Texas on Sunday, CBS DFW reports. According to the station, Zimmerman was armed when officers pulled him over on Highway 80 in Forney, east of Dallas. (Snip) The officer reportedly did not recognize Zimmerman, who was driving a Honda pickup. Zimmerman told the officer he was armed and was then told to put the weapon in his glove compartment, according to the station.

# 8 - being issued a warning ticket, he signed it--maybe Highway Patrol officer made a photocopy of it. Someone got the report rapidly to post it online. Usually a waiting period of several days before tickets are normally available for release.

Guess what-- Florida and Texas have reciprocity regard their concealed-carry licenses--GZ´s Florida permit is good in Texas. Guess what else--even without a permit, it´s legal to carry a handgun in your car in Texas as long as you aren´t committing a jailable offense (ie not a traffic offense). #3 is not far off the mark... Guess what else? CBS is a putrescent pile of of--well you probably guessed it.

So Holder didn´t get his way when he stated that Zimmerman shouldn´t receive his gun back.

The only bad thing with this is that Zimmerman´s whereabouts have been disclosed.

Typical See Bee Ess bias in the headline. Zimmerman was not "armed". That infers that you have the weapon on your person. Reading the police report, something the "reporter" at See Bee Ess obviously did not do, it clearly states that Zimmerman informed the officer that he had a gun in the glove compartment, a proper place to carry it while driving.

And still they wonder why their ratings are swirling the bowl.

If I were George Zimmerman I would be armed. It is a common sense measure. There have been countless death threats in public and doubtless many more in private. To report this simple and obvious act of self-defense as though it were notable or newsworthy is incredibly foolish and biased. It is characteristic of contemporary journalism.

A headline reading "George Zimmerman found to be unarmed when stopped for speeding" would be newsworthy because it would indicate something contrary to logic and human experience."

This headline and the story accompanying it are the work of sissies.

In Texas, you can carry a gun in your vehicle while traveling anywhere in the State. You do not have to inform the officer that you have a weapon, but most Texans do let the officer know we are carrying a gun in our vehicle, out of common courtesy for the officer. Most officers behave exactly like this officer when you do inform them about your pistol.

NBC News online has a video cam recording of the actual stop. The police car pulls in behind him and the license plate is visible.

I couldn´t make out what was on his license tag, but I´m wondering if it is possible to make it clear enough to figure it out. If so, that should not have been made available to news outlets, or anyone else for obvious reasons.

Warning ticket? The cop probably just wanted his autograph.

He may be here house hunting. Had his case happened here it NEVER would have made it to trial. Unlike Florida, in Texas ONLY a Grand Jury can render a felony indictment and no Texas GJ would do it based on that evidence.
It only went to trial in Florida because after the local DA refused to press charges the Governor or AG appointed a special prosecutor who got a judge to render an indictment, something which cannot happen under Texas law.

When the cop asked Zimmerman where he was going he answered nowhere in particular. The cop asked him why he said that. Zimmerman replied: "Didn´t you see my name?" Of course, he was not going to give his destination.

When he was declared not guilty they gave him back his gun before he left the court house.

Yes, it was wrong to speed. I am also a sinner. I have received a ticket for speeding. Coming back from Georgia, to Florida, I did get a little too eager. So what? Am I a criminal?

I think that they hope that he gets gunned down on the street. The left wing lowlife media would love that. What scum. Let George be, he didn´t do anything wrong.

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)
