The U.S. ambassador to Belgium, Howard Gutman, is suspected of soliciting prostitutes and possibly minors, according to a State Department memo. The details are published in today´s New York Post. "A [Diplomatic Security] agent was called off a case against US Ambassador to Belgium Howard Gutman over claims that he solicited prostitutes, including minors," reports the Post. “The agent began his investigation and had determined that the ambassador routinely ditched his protective security detail in order to solicit sexual favors from both prostitutes and minor children,” says the memo. “The ambassador’s protective detail and the embassy’s surveillance detection team

A quick search turned up this in a Wikipedia piece on Gutman:

Gutman has long been active in Democratic politics, working on policy issues, speech writing, constituency work, legal representation, and media. He also has helped raise money for Democratic presidential, gubernatorial, and congressional candidates, including Al Gore’s presidential campaign in 2000. Gutman served on the legal team representing Gore in the Supreme Court case Bush v. Gore.

According to OpenSecrets.org, in 2008, Gutman was part of the Obama National Finance Committee and later a trustee on the Presidential Inauguration Committee. Gutman and his wife, Michelle Loewinger, have contributed at least $86,150 to Democratic candidates, parties and committees since 1989. Gutman contributed the legal maximum of $2300 to Bill Clinton’s presidential bid. Both he and his wife contributed the legal maximum of $4600 a piece to Obama’s presidential run. Gutman bundled at least half a million for Obama’s campaign committee and another $275,000 for his inauguration.

This kind of nonsense is just onemore diversionary tactic to keep the great unwashed from fixating on the boring stuff Obama et al. wants off the front pages.

Why should we care what another lefty pervert does? After Clinton, weren´t we told if it´s about sex, it isn´t any of the public´s business?

FTA: Gutman was a big Democratic donor before taking the post, having raised $500,000 for President Obama’s 2008 campaign and helping finance his inaugural.

´splains a lot...

Prostitution´s legal in Belgium but I don´t think paedophilia is. Patrick Kennedy was assistant Secretary of State for the Clintons 93-´01. Looks like he´s Hillary´s fixer on a whole host of issues.

Of course the liberals would say, and what does all this talk of him being a sexual pervert have to do with him being Obama´s ambassador to Belgium? Maybe prostitution is legal in Belgium!

#5...what your ambassador was under investigation for is a criminal offense and would have led to charges if it involved anyone else...this guy is still on the job and probably still blaming Israel for an alleged increase in anti-Semitism resulting from building settlements...don´t we remember the thread yesterday re Germany joining 13 other EU nations supporting a labeling of Israeli made products from the settlements? The EU is based in Brussels...Newt, Perry and Romney were correct to demand his resignation last year...

Critical of Sarah Palin and her parenting.

On one appearance, in September 2008, on the Laura Ingraham radio show, when asked whether the media was being unduly harsh on Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, because she was a woman, Gutman said,

This has nothing to do with gender, whether Todd Palin was the nominee or Sarah Palin was the nominee. If my daughter had just come home at 17 years old and said, ‘Mom, Dad, I’m pregnant, we have a family problem, ‘I wouldn’t say, ‘You know what we’re going to do? We’re going to take this private family problem...and you know what I’m going to do? I’m going to go on the international stage and broadcast this to the world.…This wasn’t a working mother issue, this was a parent issue.[16]

His Wikipedia site makes no mention of marriage or children. It lists his occupation as "ambassador, actor, attorney".

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: I´ve gotta tell, another little thing about Nelson Mandela. Do you realize in a couple of ways, maybe even more than a couple, Nelson Mandela has more in common or had more in common with Clarence Thomas than he does with Barack Obama? For example, Nelson Mandela (even prior to becoming president, but certainly after he became president of South Africa) insisted on compliance with his country´s constitution. He insisted on it. Obama looks at the US Constitution as an obstacle and makes end runs around it every day, practically. In that sense... These are the kind of

RUSH: Let me give you what is, I think, one of the most amazing things I ever heard Nelson Mandela say. We had fun with Mandela when he was in New York, when he came to New York and went to Yankees Stadium. But I´ll tell you, there are very few people that could have undergone what he went through and maintained any sense of dignity or optimism.(Snip) "Resentment is like drinking poison and then hoping it will kill your enemies." Is that not great? And it´s great because it´s exactly right. Resentment doesn´t do anybody any good.

The U.S. federal health insurance website HealthCare.gov, which has had technology problems since its October 1 launch, is now experiencing errors in transmitting applications about 10 percent of the time, a government spokeswoman said on Friday. The online insurance marketplace relays information about new customers in ´834´ transaction forms to the private insurance companies that provide the health plans. HealthCare.gov serves people in 36 states, while 14 states are running their own websites. "We believe nine of 10 transactions are being successfully transmitted," the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, or CMS, spokeswoman Julie Bataille said at a news briefing.

Washington — Thad Cochran, a Mississippi Republican who was first elected to the Senate in 1978, set up a generational and ideological clash in the state’s Republican primary when he announced Friday that he would seek a seventh term in 2014. While Mr. Cochran, who turns 76 on Saturday, has the support of many leading Republicans in the state, he is already facing opposition from Chris McDaniel, 41, a state senator aligned with the Tea Party who announced his candidacy in October and has won the support of some conservative groups. Rep. James Sensenbrenner Jr., the original author of the Patriot Act, says Director of National Intelligence James Clapper should be prosecuted for lying to Congress. "Lying to Congress is a federal offense, and Clapper ought to be fired and prosecuted for it," the Wisconsin Republican said in an interview with The Hill. He said the Justice Department should prosecute Clapper for giving false testimony during a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing in March. During that hearing, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) asked Clapper whether the National Security Agency (NSA) collects data on millions of Americans. Clapper insisted that the NSA does not

"For the first time in a decade we have halted progress of Iran´s nuclear program," Obama said. "Key parts of the program will be rolled back even though the toughest of our sanctions remain in

Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of Boston bombing survivors that "it was worth it." After expressing how impressed he was with the tribute, he said somberly, "let me say to those ´quote survivors,´ my God, you have survived and you have soared. It was worth it. I mean this sincerely - just to hear each of you speak. You´re truly, truly inspiring." The audience sat in stunned silence until Biden declared, "I´ve never heard anything so beautiful than

Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as
