President Barack Obama will deliver a statement Monday at 6:10 p.m. ET from the Brady Press Briefing Room at the White House. As seen in the photo, President Barack Obama spoke Monday on the phone with FBI Director Robert Mueller to receive an update on the Boston explosions. Seated with the President are Lisa Monaco, assistant to the president for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, and Chief of Staff Denis McDonough. A White House official said earlier the president has been notified of the explosions. "His administration is in contact with state and local authorities.

What are the odds Barry will comfort the nation by telling us that the suspect in custody is now undergoing enhanced interrogation to forstall further terrorist acts?

Maybe he will announce will be flying the victims and families of the victims on AF1 with him on his next trip to a Muslim country so they can demand that the Islamic world do something about its bloodlust?

If Bill Clinton’s political camp was known for believing the right wing was out to get him, then this undated memo from his administration codified his team’s suspicions. The memo was released today in the latest, thousands-of-pages-long batch of Clinton White House documents to be posted online by the William J. Clinton Presidential Library & Museum. The National Archives have been releasing tranches of Clinton documents, previously withheld under the Presidential Records Act, every two weeks this spring. Reportedly authored by Chris Lehane, then a young White House aide who would later serve as press secretary for

KUALA LUMPUR - About 100 Malaysian Muslim activists protested on Friday outside the US embassy against the coming visit by President Barack Obama, denouncing him as an enemy of Islam. The demonstration underscored the delicate nature of Obama´s trip to Muslim-majority Malaysia, which will make him the first siting US president to visit in nearly half a century, a period marked by mutual distrust. The protesters marched to the embassy in Kuala Lumpur from a nearby mosque after Friday afternoon prayers, shouting "God is great" and "Obama is the enemy of the Prophet Muhammad." They also bore placards and banners

This is not a joke, but it is funny. It´s also practical. Argentina´s National Institute for Agricultural Technology (INTA) has invented a way to convert cow flatulence into usable energy, and it involves putting a plastic backpack on a cow. In other words, cow fartpacks are here.(snip)Here´s how the fartpacks work: tubes run from the backpack into the cows´ rumen (or biggest digestive tract). They extract about 300 liters of methane a day, which is enough to run a car or a fridge for about 24 hours. Gov. Terry McAuliffe plans to announce today that he will shrink the time violent felons must wait to seek reinstatement of their voting rights and will remove some offenses from that list. The policy slated to take effect April 21 comes on top of years of work to streamline the process, and aims to make the system easier to understand and to allow more felons to petition the state more quickly. In a series of changes to the state´s restoration of rights process, McAuliffe plans to collapse the application waiting period from five to three years for people convicted of violent felonies

The two bombers who killed and maimed innocent people at the Boston marathon a year ago had come as refugees to America, from conflicts that America and her people did nothing to cause. They had been granted the privileges of a law-abiding democracy, including education, health care and the precious freedoms for which Americans have fought in two world wars. Their situation was incomparably better than it would have been, had they stayed behind in Chechnya. Among the many privileges that they enjoyed religious freedom was by no means the least important. They were able to attend their local mosque, to take part in its services and

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls.
