Chelsea Clinton has raised her profile in the last few days, which sparked the inevitable question about the former first daughter´s future: Will she ever be like Mom and Dad and run for office? Clinton, 33, essentially said "maybe" in an interview that aired Monday on NBC´s Today show. "Right now I´m grateful to live in a city, a state and a country where I strongly support my mayor, my governor, my president and my senators and my representative," said Clinton, whose father, Bill, was president from 1993-2001 and her mother, Hillary
Comments: Hooray! There is hope for the future! And after her royal highness steps down - Jeb´s son to the rescue!Yay! These people are fabulous. No? Catalina?
The ´Who Cares´ response just doesn´t cut it anymore. With the low information voters we have today her election to whatever she runs for is almost a slam dunk. We need to care as we have been warned...
I have been sayin it for years. Chelsea for Congress!!! Yeaaaa!!! Then of course Chelsea for Senate, yeaaa! And then following Pappys footsteps Chelsea for President...yeaaaa!!! We are so lucky to be blessed with the people that never go away.
chelsea is a flop. Her resume is fluff. She has the charm of a rotten grapefruit. What´s more she inherited the worst physical traits from webb and piaps. The final insult is her fake, made for political career marriage, just like mommie´s.
It says much about our country when branding trumps substance.
And by the way, we stoop to the progressive´s level when we bring up looks or other irrelevant bits. With the left and their media looking for every excuse to demonize us we can´t afford to serve then softballs. We need to continue to make the contrast stark like the DC mall left cleaner after thousands of Tea Party folks were there.
How did she acquire such a huge net worth at such tender years, and a $10 million dollar home, when she has done nothing of any significance other than be employed at a hedge fund and marry more money? She has lived too much of her life in the rarified air of DC and NYC to have the slightest understanding of how hard others have to work to support her and others like her in their totally undeserved lifestyle. No thank you. Please, no more Clintons Kennedys or Bushes ever thinking about political office.
Talk about sick thinking!! The name Clinton is enough to raise the hackles on the backs of all who read this post. The daughter falls right at the roots of the parents when talking and writing about her possible future. Benghazi comes to mind and the "what difference does it make?" statement Hillary Clinton made in her sad attempt to lie her way out of what happened there. Chelsea has done nothing and said less about the political nature of her thinking. Her parents have shown Americans who they are, and what they think. It is about THEM and Chelsea is part of that.
Poor little old Chelsea. She grew up being taken care of by her doting father while her mother pursued her law career. Then she had to change schools and go to Sidwell Friends. Off to Stanford, then to Oxford where she learned to shack up with her boyfriend. She marries a young man with questionable family activities. Daddy gets her a job with a hedge fund for a couple of years. Now she´s ready to run for office if she can make a difference.
At least Bill worked his way up and Hillary practiced law. Chelsea has led a life of protection and removing the unpleasantries of life, kind of like the protected babies at Johns Hopkins. Tell Chelsea to call in 10 or 12 years and we´ll see if she had done anything worthwhile with her life.
FTA: "support my mayor, my governor, my president and my senators"
Republicans let the Clintons slide after their crimes, and they come back to haunt us. Fill in the blanks: GOP let Andrew "HUD" Cuomo slide, let Chuck Schumer slide (collapsing WAMU bank, for one), let Al Gore slide, let John Kerry slide (now sec of state), let Jon Corzine slide, etc. So-called opposition party has had zero success in derailing the opposition, and they come back even stronger.
Russia has asserted that it takes a morally superior world-view to the West and is seeking to resist the tide of "non-traditional values" Mr Putin, the Russian president, used his state-of-the-nation address to defend his government´s increasingly conservative values. Speaking as a worldwide protest movement grows against the Kremlin´s anti-gay stance, Mr Putin upbraided the West for treating "good and evil" equally. In his 70-minute televised speech from an ornate Kremlin hall, Mr Putin pledged to defend traditional family values, which he said were the foundation of Russia´s greatness and a bulwark against "so-called tolerance - genderless and infertile." NEW DELHI — India´s Supreme Court on Wednesday overturned a lower court´s ruling that decriminalized gay sex, a move condemned by gay rights activists as a big step backward in their struggle for acceptance in this largely conservative country. In 2009 the Delhi High Court ruled that a 19th-century provision in the country´s penal code that prohibited people from engaging in "carnal acts against the order of nature" should not apply to consenting adults, including same-sex couples. The Supreme Court rejected that decision Wednesday, saying the old law was still constitutionally valid and could only be changed or erased through Parliament, not
George Mason’s home, Gunston Hall, just down the river from Mount Vernon, is closed on Thanksgiving Day but reopens to visitors the day after. In this season when Americans reflect upon all that we are grateful for, these stately and hallowed grounds are a good place to start. Commonly referred to as the “forgotten founder,” George Mason IV had a fair amount of contempt for politics. Especially politicians. It was a dirty, grubby affair that attracted mostly dirty, grubby people. In other words, Mason was clairvoyant.
SAN FRANCISCO — Interior Secretary Sally Jewell says she will recommend that President Obama act alone if necessary to create new national monuments and sidestep a gridlocked Congress that has failed to address dozens of public lands bills. Jewell said the logjam on Capitol Hill has created a conservation backlog, and she warned that the Obama administration would not "hold its breath forever" waiting for lawmakers to act. "The president will not hesitate," Jewell said in an interview in San Francisco last week. "I can tell you that there are places that are ripe for setting aside."
Of all the events commemorating the half-century since the Kennedy assassination, Ted Kennedy Jr. said Saturday night’s reunion of John F. Kennedy’s White House staff was the one not to be missed. “I don’t want to go to Arlington Cemetery,’’ he told hostess Nancy Hogan Dutton. “What I want is to be here in your home.’’ The point of the gathering of about 100 old friends was not the death of the president but his life — and theirs when they worked for him. No matter what they went on to achieve, reaching for the moon was hard to top.
An overdue measure to outlaw employment discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity cleared a procedural hurdle on Monday night in the Senate. The move is one step toward putting into federal law a basic principle most Americans support: Job applicants and employees should be judged on their professional credentials and the caliber of their work, and not be held back because of who they are. The Employment Nondiscrimination Act, however, has a significant flaw — a terribly broad religious exemption
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was the honoree at the annual Jack Kemp Leadership Award Dinner on Monday night, delivering a speech that laid out ways conservatives can advance the “American idea” that the dinner’s namesake advocated. Bush advocated free market principles, especially in energy policy. We should let market forces, not crony capitalism, decide where to invest and how to incentivize citizens to conserve,” Bush, a possible GOP candidate in 2016, said, advocating approval of the Keystone XL pipeline, “rational” regulations on fracking, and opening federal lands to drilling. “A real energy strategy could add an additional 1 percent growth over
New York — The anchor who might beat Bill O’Reilly gets her eyelash extensions applied one at a time, with tweezers and dabs of glue, about 90 minutes before showtime, right after a motorized gun sprays foundation over her face, neck, shoulders, collarbone and sternum, wiping out a galaxy of light freckles that spreads across her — Let me stop you right there. Photos of the day Uruguay legalizes marijuana, Kiev police pull back from protesters, aging U.S. prison population and more. Tuesday´s Photos of the day Would you write this way about a man? About O’Reilly himself? At least that’s what Megyn Kelly might ask at
In August 2013 I became very sick with what I thought was a cold. After a few days I lost vision in my left eye and I checked into the hospital. I soon found out that what I thought was a summer cold was actually Strep bacteria poisoning my blood stream. The bacteria blinded my left eye, ate a hole through my heart, caused five strokes on both sides of my brain and forced the removal of my prosthetic left knee. Dr. Lee was the surgeon assigned to perform open heart surgery. What was originally scheduled to last four hours ended
The health director who approved the release of President Obama’s birth certificate has died in a plane crash, Hawaiian officials said Thursday. Loretta Fuddy died after the Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft she was travelling on went down shortly after leaving Kalaupapa Airport at around 3:15 p.m. local time (10:15 a.m. ET) on Wednesday. The other eight people on board were rescued, Richard Schuman, president of Makani Kai Air, told NBC News early Thursday, adding that that there was no indication as to why the plane had crashed. Fuddy hit the headlines two years ago when she approved a waiver request allowing Obama to
Fox News host Megyn Kelly has made herself the center of a racial controversy by declaring that Jesus Christ and Santa Claus are white. On Wednesday night, Kelly was responding to an article by Slate writer Aisha Harris, who wrote an article entitled “ Santa Claus Should Not Be a White Man Anymore .” The popular news host told viewers of “The Kelly File,” her hit FNC program, “When I saw this headline, I kinda laughed and I said, ‘Oh, this is ridiculous. Yet another person claiming it´s racist to have a white Santa.’ And by the way, for all you kids
Views of the tea party are at all-time lows in a new poll, as primary challenges to establishment Republicans continue to heat up Washington. Just 30 percent of Americans view the tea party favorably in a new Gallup poll released Wednesday, the movement’s lowest point since Gallup began polling about it during its rise in 2010. Also in a first, a majority of Americans had an unfavorable view of the tea party, at 51 percent. Similar numbers of respondents described themselves as proponents or opponents of the tea party: Twenty-two percent identified themselves as tea party supporters, while 24 percent said they
WASHINGTON – It’s not exactly a ringing endorsement of the budget deal.“Embrace the suck,” House minority leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi told fellow Democrats Thursday morning, a source told Politico.“We need to get this off the table so we can go forward,” she added. It’s a way of telling her colleagues the budget deal negotiated with Republicans is the best they can get. Democrats are fuming that the bipartisan budget deal doesn’t extend unemployment benefits for more than a million Americans. One of Pelosi’s top lieutenants, Rep. Chris Van Hollen, the top Democrat on the House Budget Committee, said Thursday it
Columnist Charles Krauthammer attacked new Obamacare rules unveiled by HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in a late Thursday conference call, saying the Obama administration is “approach[ing] banana republic lawlessness” by issuing the decrees. Krauthammer spoke with Fox News’ Bret Baier on a panel with Juan Williams and Judge Andrew Napolitano, as the three reacted to Sebelius’ new directives for insurance companies. “This is exactly a reaction to a deep understanding among Democrats that [Obamacare] is a train wreck,” he said. “And it’s a panic reaction. As the judge said, this is utterly lawless. This now approaches banana republic lawlessness.
