US setting up Patriot missiles
near Turkish-Syrian border

GAZIANTEP, Turkey — Hours before a convoy of trucks was slated to arrive at the Turkish army base here, U.S. Army Maj. Ryan Schrock faced a logistical challenge. Nearly 100 trucks carrying everything from water and MREs to multimillion-dollar Patriot missiles needed a place to unload, but there were few good options. “This is bad,” Schrock said Thursday as he surveyed a muddy, makeshift road. “I’m in a single lane here. We’re going to bottleneck.” Schrock and his Turkish counterpart scouted out an alternate route, improvising on a military post not accustomed to the heavy equipment

Setting up missiles to protect Turkey from those WMD´s that the left told us never existed in Iraq and are now in the hands of Ashad?

Bush told the truth. Ashad´s weapons are the proof.

Turkey at one time was our friend. Then they forced US to remove our Matador missiles which were a great deterrent that was a thorn in Russia´s side.

Now once again we come to their aid and they say......?

You may have heard that there are a variety of scandals unfolding in Washington D.C. at the moment. Scandals swirling around the White House this week include revelations that the Internal Revenue Service singled out conservative groups for intimidation, that the Department of Justice may have expressed their frustration with the Associated Press by obtaining an absurdly wide swath of phone records, and the ever-unfolding scandal surrounding Benghazi and the administration’s response to that attack. With all these overwhelming controversies enveloping the executive branch, one question dominates in the media: When will Republicans overstep in their effort to criticize

In an interview with Bloomberg TV, former Obama chief of staff-turned-Treasury Secretary Jack Lew offered two conflicting yet carefully worded answers as to when he first learned that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) had targeted Tea Party and conservative groups: he learned last week--and possibly before the 2012 election. Bloomberg´s Al Hunt asked Lew, whose Treasury Department oversees the IRS: “When were you first notified that IRS agents were targeting conservative groups like the Tea Party?” Instead of answering Hunt’s question directly, however, Lew instead chose to answer when he first learned about the IG report, a tactic

You can feel their pain as disillusioned devotees begin peeling Obama stickers from their bumpers, no longer anxious to share an identity with him as he slips further and further into a festering pool of scandal. For years these True Believers rationalized every faux pas and reckless word emanating from the White House, because to them none of it mattered in the greater light of his glorious incumbency. If he joked with Jay Leno about his inept bowling, saying “it was like the Special Olympics,” so what? If he dismissed his critics as “people who cling to their guns

IRS sued for seizing 60
million medical records

A healthcare provider has sued the Internal Revenue Service and 15 of its agents, charging they wrongfully seized 60 million medical records from 10 million Americans. The name of the provider is not yet known, United Press International said. But Courthouse News Service said the suit claims the agency violated the Fourth Amendment in 2011, when agents executed a search warrant for financial data on one employee – and that led to the seizure of information on 10 million, including state judges. The search warrant did not specify that the IRS could take medical information, UPI said.

Michelle Obama, who admitted last month that her bangs were ´getting a little irritating,´ seems to have finally had enough of her five-month old haircut. The First Lady debuted her new longer ´do on Friday during her commencement address at Bowie State University. Her bangs, which she cut for her 49th birthday in January because of a ´midlife crisis,´ were grown out and parted to the side with her wavy hair slightly longer, touching her shoulders. ´This is my midlife crisis, the bangs. I couldn´t get a sports car,´ she told talk show host Rachael Ray

Greg Sargent over at Plum Line has a big scoop today: Harry Reid is planning to devote July to nominations and will “go nuclear” if necessary — using majority-imposed reform to end the ability of minorities to block executive branch and judicial nominations. This is exactly the right path for Reid, the Senate majority leader, to take. It’s a complex situation. For most Democratic senators, the preferred solution is almost certainly Republican retreat to more traditional opposition, in which filibusters were used very selectively against a handful of nominees, and other forms of obstruction

Nice try, Mr. President. Feigning anger, firing an unknown bureaucrat and fleeing the podium won’t cut it with voters, or stop the hemorrhaging of the scandals that have spawned a Watergate-like feel around the Obama administration. There was a certain panicky look about the way the president quickly delivered a rare evening White House statement to try to quell the growing outrage over the IRS targeting of Tea Party groups. The move showed how damaging the scandal has become to Obama’s second term and maybe even his presidency. But Obama took no questions and, more importantly,

Watching President Obama trying to dodge raindrops and responsibility yesterday reminded me of the moment when Dorothy pulls back the curtain and discovers that the Wizard of Oz is “just a man.” Stripped of his spell of mystery and power, the wizard is worse than mortal. He’s a fake. So it was with Obama in the Rose Garden. His performance was tired and trite, ordinary to the point of dull. His veneer of passion was so transparent that you could see him trying to summon his old-time magic by pushing the buttons

STANDING BEFORE reporters Thursday, President Obama declined an invitation to compare the recent scandals weighing down his administration with those that forced President Nixon to resign in 1974. So allow us to do the work for him: There is no comparison. Nixon, in a series of crimes that collectively came to be known as Watergate, directed from the White House and Justice Department a concerted campaign against those he perceived as political enemies, in the process subverting the FBI, the IRS, other government agencies and the electoral process to his nefarious purposes. Mr. Obama has done nothing of the kind.

The State Department, under Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, created an arrangement for her longtime aide and confidante Huma Abedin to work for private clients as a consultant while serving as a top adviser in the department. Ms. Abedin did not disclose the arrangement — or how much income she earned — on her financial report. It requires officials to make public any significant sources of income. An adviser to Mrs. Clinton, Philippe Reines, said that Ms. Abedin was not obligated to do so. The disclosure of the agreement that Ms. Abedin made with the State Department comes as her husband,

The White House on Wednesday released 94 pages of emails between top administration and intelligence officials who helped shape the talking points about the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, that the CIA would provide to policymakers in both the legislative and executive branches. The documents, first reported by THE WEEKLY STANDARD in articles here and here, directly contradict claims by White House press secretary Jay Carney and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that the revisions of those talking points were driven by the intelligence community and show heavy input from top Obama administration officials, particularly those at the State Department.

On Thursday´s NBC Today, in a desperate attempt to deflect from the scandals engulfing the Obama administration, co-host Savannah Guthrie wondered: "I read a headline yesterday that said Republicans see blood in the water. That they see a president who´s very vulnerable politically. Is there a danger that they will overreach?" Chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd agreed with the slanted premise: "There is. I mean, that´s what happened to Republicans in 1998 with Bill Clinton.

President Obama’s press conference in the rain was not a success, if by success, his supporters would mean an event which convinces anyone who doesn’t work for him that he’s getting ahead of the scandal deluge. The sight of a Marine holding an umbrella over his head only added to the weirdness of the event. So what did we learn? 1. He has full confidence in Attorney General Eric Holder, the man who purportedly recused himself (whenever) without putting it in writing (whatever). When asked about the untrammeled snooping on Associated Press reporters and editors,
