| Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Thursday said the American economy is "in a recovery" despite the decline in the nation´s gross domestic product (GDP). Reid made the remark after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) blamed the White House for the unexpected contraction in the economy. “[McConnell] continues bad mouthing the recovery,” Reid said on the Senate floor. “We are in a recovery.” On Wednesday, the Commerce Department announced that the nation´s economy unexpectedly shrank by 0.1 percent in the fourth quarter of 2012. Echoing the White House,

It seems - on a non-stop basis - that the more ´high profile´ the Democrat - the more Delusional...
Elsewhere, ´regular´ Democrats are still trying to blame Bush for the results of the current inept policies of this administration.
Between Harry and Nancy - Bonnie and Clyde had nothing better in ´scams and thievery´ territory going on...

Wow! Nice recovery. Good thing it was only -.1. Any better than that and the economy would crash and we´d be Greece.

What recovery? The reason the stock market is up is because of all the US investors in jobs overseas. Doesn´t help the people here in the US at all.

More and more they remind me of old Bagdagh Bob as he was on TV telling the people of the city that the Americans had been defeated!
Let´s see, there´s Reid saying we´re in a recovery, O says he likes to shoot skeet...surely there´s a list somewhere of the junk that comes out of their mouths on a daily basis. If not, there needs to be.

Short history ;esson. In 2004 When Bush was in office Unemployment was about 5.5%, our Economy was growing at something like 5% and our deficit was 300 billion.
The MSM and the left were telling us that we were in the worst economy since Carter. Disaster was imminent and the economy was so horrendous children were probably never going to be able to move out of their parents homes.
In 2012 Unemployment is 8.8%, GDP is contracting and our deficit is 1.3 Trillion. The MSM say we´re in a sustained recovery with a booming economy and great times for all just around the corner.
Do they really think we are THAT stupid?

50,000 jobs lost here in CT between Dec. of 2011 and Dec. of 2012. After the largest tax increase in CT history for 2011, a sudden $450 million budget deficit was declared in Nov. 2012, one week after the re-election of the Blue legislature, which, it was revealed after the election, had voted in June of 2012 to sit on news of the shortfall until after Nov. 6th. These Dems are both delusional and malevolent.

Private investment and exports were big factors in the bad number. Harry´s trying to maneuver in front of the sequester fight. He´s going to claim the savaging of government programs for the most vulnerable will hurt the recovery.

No other country will even buy our debt anymore, so we are printing 83 billion dollars a month to buy our own debt. Our unemployment rate is actually over 16%; more people are living on credit, and the young people are getting huge loans and going to school. GM continues to sell cars, because their loan company Ally is owned by the taxpayer, so once again, the taxpayer is paying for it all. Recovery -- Harry is both ignorant and arrogant.

The Senate voted down an amendment to the upper chamber´s immigration bill proposed by Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) that would require a full biometric visa tracking system placed at every land, sea, and air port of entry in the United States before legalized immigrants could receive green cards. The measure, which was also called for by the 9/11 Commission in the wake of the 2001 terrorist attacks, would establish a biometric exit-entry system. Gang of Eight member Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) told Breitbart News last week

The immigration reform bill drawn up by the Senate Gang of 8 would boost the economy and lower the deficit, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office says in a report out today. The newly released, and highly anticipated, report from the government’s nonpartisan bookkeeper comes as the Senate debates the bipartisan immigration legislation offered by the Gang of 8 and the House moves forward on a more piecemeal approach. The report, “The Economic Impact of S. 744, the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act,” says overall the legislation

NEW YORK — The New York Police Department´s widespread spying programs directed at Muslims have undermined free worship by innocent people and should be declared unconstitutional, religious leaders and civil rights advocates said Tuesday after the filing of a federal lawsuit. "Our mosque should be an open, religious and spiritual sanctuary, but NYPD spying has turned it into a place of suspicion and censorship," Hamid Hassan Raza, an imam named as a plaintiff, told a rally outside police headquarters shortly after the suit was filed in federal court in Brooklyn.

While the controversy over the National Security Agency surveillance program has dominated the news recently, concern about the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of Tea Party groups and other conservative organizations remains high and is inching up. Despite the large number of controversies engulfing official Washington, the number of people following the IRS scandal has actually increased in recent weeks. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 82% of voters nationwide are now following the IRS targeting story, including 44% who are following the story

Mixed-race people are more likely to be considered black by conservatives, who are subconsciously attempting to “justify racial divisions,” said the authors of a new government-funded study. The report, originally released earlier this month, has begun attracting criticism from those who see political bias in the results. The study was conducted by graduate students and faculty in the psychology department of New York University. Researchers asked participants to look at pictures of mixed-race people and say whether they

The Clintons are getting the old band back together again for one last geriatric tour. Hillary 2016. Because 22 years of Clintons dominating the Beltway isn’t enough. Her campaign slogan: “Vote for me. I am a woman. What difference does it make?” The Draft Hillary movement is really taking off. There hasn’t been this much excitement behind a Draft Hillary movement since, well, the last time there was a Draft Hillary movement. Remember that? Back in 2008? When she was the “inevitable nominee?” She was the “most electable” Democrat running? She was the only one who

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. And Sarah blasted him on Twitter as a bully. Is that, is it, is he a bully? Is he a bad, what is he?

Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.

Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

Politico’s Playbook has an excerpt from a new Ryan Lizza piece from the New Yorker that is not yet online. It contains a passage on the back-and-forth between labor and the Chamber that has a quote from a Rubio staffer that is going to raise eyebrows, to say the least: “There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it. There shouldn’t be a presumption that every American worker is a star performer. There are people who just can’t get it, can’t do it, don’t want to do it. And so you can’t obviously discuss that publicly.” Here is the entire context:

Iran is preparing to send 4,000 troops in to Syria to support Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the wake of America´s announcement it will be providing ´military aid´ to the country´s Muslim rebels. President Barack Obama made the pledge earlier this week after the U.S. claimed it found ´conclusive evidence´ Assad´s regime has used chemical weapons against the rebel forces--which includes the most extreme Sunni Islamists--and has called for Britain and France to back the move. While Britain hasn´t made a guarantee either way as yet, more than 350 Royal Marines are being sent to Jordan

Is Marco Rubio, R-Fla., getting played by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.? During his interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl this morning, Rubio didn’t even seem to understand what that meant. “Are you being played by the Democrats?” asked Karl. “Is Chuck Schumer playing you?” “I don’t — I quite frankly, I don’t even know what that means,” Rubio replied. “Is he using you?” Karl continued. “Is he using you to try to accomplish something that the Democrats want and is not — not a conservative bill?” Rubio responded that immigration reform was a bi-partisan issue that “all Americans
