| An old-time trial lawyer once said, "When your case is weak, shout louder!" Secretary of State Hillary Clinton shouted louder when asked about the Obama administration´s story last fall that the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. ambassador´s quarters in Benghazi, Libya, was due to an anti-Islamic video that someone in the United States had put on the Internet, and thereby provoked a protest that escalated into violence. She shouted: "We had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided they´d go kill some Americans?
|
Comments: Pssssst, PIAPS, they were not "guys." They were Al Qaeda.

For me the most pertinent question for this poor excuse of a SoS, is: "if you are responsible as you have stated madam secretary, what exactly are you responsible for?"
Btw, I couldn´t get the link to work, perhaps this will: http://news.investors.com/ibd-editorials-on-the-right/012813-642206-clinton-testimony-failed-to-address-continued-attacks-by-al-qaida.htm

I couldn´t bring this article up, but did find it elsewhere. Thomas Sowell brings up a terrific point - when someone is trying to argue a point by using a loud, angry voice, the person is not speaking the truth. This is how Africans determine a case in a palaver in the center of their village - the person who remains calm while presenting his/her case is the truth speaker. The loud, angry speaker is wrong, knows he/she is wrong, but nonetheless is attempting to win in this manner. Case closed.

What difference does it make? A huge difference. I want to know what Amb Stevens was doing at a mission in Benghazi instead of being in the Tripoli embassy. I want to know what was in those 2 warehouses that was looted. I am certain that they were running guns and military weapons to the Syrians, and that AQ attacked them and stole their stash. What matters, Hillary, is that you are covering up an illegal gunrunning effort being conducted by Obama on Libyan soil. This makes Iran-Contra look like a junior varsity operation. The "difference" was not having this leak out just before the election

All those investigative committee hearings are worthless. If the Republicans truly wish to get to the truth, they should forego the lengthy lead-in and get right to the question/s they have to ask. The speech prior to each question is just for the folks back home.
Note to Prancing and Preening Senators: We, the folks back home, are not impressed when you allow a proven liar to slip away without so much as a tiny nick after you have wasted your alloted time admiring yourselves!

Hillary Clinton will NOT escape. Man´s justice can be blind but divine justice is not. While we may not see her pay for her Benghazi decisions that led to 4 murders in her lifetime, she will still have to answer for the lives lost under her watch to their Maker. She has blood on her hands which will never wash away as long as she & this administration refuse to acknowledge their respective parts in this debacle.

I am surprised that no-one in the Press is drawing a comparison to "Zero Dark Thirty" when discussing this.
Why did the maker of the supposed "offensive film" get thrown in jail, while the movie about the assassination of Bin Laden heads toward box office records and a possible Academy Award ?
Talk about something that might stir people up....

I thought it interesting that Hilzilla referred to Benghazi as a ´consulate.´ According to articles I read, it was merely a rented house or estate which is why it didn´t have all the security measures installed. I also read in the same article that the ´safe room´ where some of them went before they crawled out the window was actually a holding cell. The cartoon on the first page today is sooooo true!

The thirty some that escaped know what was really going on. They need to be routed out next and interrogated. One is laid up in a German hospital. Demand an interview and names of the others.
This thing is far more sinister than the lying fool in a green dress. It goes right up to the WH and the poseur slumped back with his feet on Lincoln´s desk.
In legal circles it´s called "accessory to murder."

I believe they will get away with the carefully crafted deception they created. People died "over there", the public just doesn´t care. The terrorists rightly took this Country´s measure, we no longer have the guts and focus to maintain a long term offensive against terrorism. We are comfy in our sheltered lives. Sad that the ambassador was killed and all that, what´s for dinner tonight? Most don´t care. Sure if you poll them they will say it´s bad and probably a terrorist attack but then they forget about it. Nothing happens when people forget about things.
Clinton acted as a blustering bully and a weeping emotional woman, effective emotional tools that deflect a rational discussion of the issues. Standard progressive tools used to drive emotional decisions instead of rational ones. BO won that way. The Country falls for it. Benghazi is over and done. No one cares.

The phony video story is so clumsy it catches all the attention, and takes attention away from the real story, which is the secret CIA operation at the annex, and Ambassador Stephens meeting with the Turkish emissary arranging the gun running operation. That was the big secret that required Obama and HRC to order no rescue and let the men die rather than expose the operation with a high profile military rescue operation.
The administration is quite happy to egg on its face for the clumsy video story. That may be embarrassing, but the alternative story would be devestating.

Not to get personal, but unfortunately for Mrs. Clinton, her outside is matching up to her inside and it is not a pleasant picture. Someone needs to tell her that being unkempt does not enhance her intellect. It just says she is lazy and lacks personal pride in her appearance. Nevertheless, with the bloviating and weak questioning by the Republicans she managed to walk away set for a 2016 run. Way to go guys. Once again, you failed to take advantage of an opportunity to get answers for the families of those four dead Americans. Abject failure on your parts.

Once the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi is seen for what it was — a highly coordinated and highly successful operation by terrorists who were said to have been vanquished — that calls into question the Obama administration´s Middle East foreign policy.
In my opinion, our foreign policy is exceedingly Muslim-friendly to the point of decreasing America´s national security. It seems clear that this Administration is preparing to soften any and all restrictions on Sharia Law in our Courts, in our schools and in the workplace.
I firmly believe that Obama, not a Christian as he claims, is a Muslim who will facilitate a Muslim America with himself at the helm, helped along by his complete refusal to punish terrorists or to deter Iran´s nuclear program.
In short, he is setting America up to be a Muslim nation, which is why he won´t call them terrorists and is so friendly and slavering toward them.
He hates America. He really does hate us.

The most foolish part of her answer was if the attack was because of fellows out walking that night deciding to kill some Americans, Senator Johnson should, have interrupted her right then and asked who has ever suggested such a possibility? Mrs Clinton is being intervieweed on Fox Cable News tonight by Greta V>S> . THIS is Greta´s opportunity to stand out as a REAL JOURNALIST and to ask the toughest possible questions and forget the kissy=kissy garbage. Make the questions so hard that Mrs Clinton will take a hike off the set and forget her 2016 plans. Don´t ask if she READ the cables from Libya, ask if she was aware of the situation that had been ongoing for a year. Ask if she watched the massacre in real time and subsequently twisted the truth. Ask about the gun running to terrorists. Ask if in fact the consulate was an FBI safe-house. and so forth. If she cannot answer the questions, she has no right to ANY official office, because she is either incompetent or unable to manage a high position in the Government, or a liar ( in my opinion ). Congress asked her virtually NOTHING. Greta can do the job if she is willing to. maybe she will win a broadcasting prize ?

If Hillary is going to run for Prez in 2016, there sure is a lot of work to do on her physically. She needs a new hairdo, lose about 100 lbs and reduce her thighs - she must have enough money for cosmetic surgery. I´m pretty sure the glasses will come off or new contact lenses will be invented for her.
It is shocking how her appearance has degraded since leaving the WH. At least while she was in the Senate, her hair style was professional looking. Now she just looks unkempt - what´s with the long, stringy hair? Maddy Half-bright actually improved her appearance as SOS. If Maddy could do it, surely Hil could, since she had a lot of Hollywood connections when Bill was in the WH.

Just for starters, if the American deaths in Benghazi had been the result of "some guys out for a walk one night who decided they´d go kill some Americans", it is doubtful the "guys" would have attacked with the same weaponry, that it would have taken hours, and that events and circumstances would have been such that a target would have been "painted" for help that never came because of the actions and inactions of their own government which ultimately resulted in unnecessary loss of American life.
The ending result of an attack by "some guys out for a walk" would likely have been far different, causing fewer questions, and the administration would have been just lying through their teeth and making up stories about domestic things, as usual.
We wouldn´t have had an asinine story about a YouTube video causing a riot, that resulted in an innocent man spending time in jail as part of an elaborate government cover-up of what really happened in Benghazi.
And, we wouldn´t have had a ludicrous charade of a hearing on the matter that turned into a praise fest for a representative of an administration that should have its hide nailed to the wall instead.

Some of the nation´s largest banks, including Wells Fargo [WFC +1.58%] & Co., suspended foreclosure sales in a number of states following guidance issued last month by federal banking regulators. While some foreclosures have since resumed, the halt marks the latest dustup over how foreclosures are handled. Banks said their actions were triggered by a four-page bulletin issued last month by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Reserve. The bulletin outlined basic operating standards for foreclosure sales. Many of the nation´s largest banks were already operating under consent orders with the OCC or the Fed

Common-sense politics devolve into a season of craziness in this engrossing account of the 2012 U.S. presidential campaign. Journalist Alter follows up his bestselling The Promise: President Obama, Year One with a savvy dissection of the 2010–2012 election cycle and related political dogfights, including budget and debt-ceiling showdowns, the Republican primary circus, and the “Obama Derangement Syndrome” infecting Tea Partiers and talk-radio hosts. At the center are rich portraits of the antagonists: Obama is seen as a cerebral antipolitician with no “schmooze gene” who hates back-slapping, slogan-spewing theatrics; Romney is portrayed as a well-meaning

Let’s face it. The Great Gatsby never has been—and probably won’t ever be—successfully turned into a great motion picture. Many have tried (four flop movies, not to mention various small-screen attempts, including a truncated but memorable Playhouse 90 with Robert Ryan and Jeanne Crain in the golden days when TV still knew what quality programming was). Robert Redford was a perfect Gatsby in the pretty but boring 1974 version by Jack Clayton, but the movie was dead on arrival. The best I’ve seen is still Elliott Nugent’s black-and-white 1949 version, with Alan Ladd at the top of his form

It may go down as one of the great currency bets in Australian dollar history – a $US1 billion gamble on a Reserve Bank rate cut that has delivered a $US19 million ($18.65m) profit in 36 hours. The beneficiary, if you believe the rumour mill, is investment legend George Soros. Best of all, it appears the 82-year-old American pulled off the deal three times, all with different foreign exchange brokers in Asia, for a tidy profit of almost $US60 million. (Snip)Back in 1992, based on British government policy changes, Soros famously shorted the British pound,

U.S. President Barack Obama gives the commencement address to the graduating class of The Ohio State University at Ohio Stadium on May 5, 2013 in Columbus, Ohio. PRESIDENT OBAMA: Unfortunately, you´ve grown up hearing voices that incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that´s at the root of all our problems. Some of these same voices also do their best to gum up the works. They´ll warn that tyranny always lurking just around the corner. You should reject these voices.

After months of weighing potential candidates, President Obama finally has his pick for the director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, which oversees the housing giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Obama wants to tap Representative Mel Watt, a Democrat from North Carolina. Confirmation is far from a sure thing. Watt’s nomination has been met with cheers by many groups that work with borrowers, from the National Community Reinvestment Coalition to MoveOn.org, though some liberals say he’s too close with banks, which are a big part of North Carolina’s economy.

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care
