An old-time trial lawyer once said, "When your case is weak, shout louder!" Secretary of State Hillary Clinton shouted louder when asked about the Obama administration´s story last fall that the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. ambassador´s quarters in Benghazi, Libya, was due to an anti-Islamic video that someone in the United States had put on the Internet, and thereby provoked a protest that escalated into violence. She shouted: "We had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided they´d go kill some Americans?
Comments: Pssssst, PIAPS, they were not "guys." They were Al Qaeda.
I couldn´t bring this article up, but did find it elsewhere. Thomas Sowell brings up a terrific point - when someone is trying to argue a point by using a loud, angry voice, the person is not speaking the truth. This is how Africans determine a case in a palaver in the center of their village - the person who remains calm while presenting his/her case is the truth speaker. The loud, angry speaker is wrong, knows he/she is wrong, but nonetheless is attempting to win in this manner. Case closed.
What difference does it make? A huge difference. I want to know what Amb Stevens was doing at a mission in Benghazi instead of being in the Tripoli embassy. I want to know what was in those 2 warehouses that was looted. I am certain that they were running guns and military weapons to the Syrians, and that AQ attacked them and stole their stash. What matters, Hillary, is that you are covering up an illegal gunrunning effort being conducted by Obama on Libyan soil. This makes Iran-Contra look like a junior varsity operation. The "difference" was not having this leak out just before the election
All those investigative committee hearings are worthless. If the Republicans truly wish to get to the truth, they should forego the lengthy lead-in and get right to the question/s they have to ask. The speech prior to each question is just for the folks back home.
Note to Prancing and Preening Senators: We, the folks back home, are not impressed when you allow a proven liar to slip away without so much as a tiny nick after you have wasted your alloted time admiring yourselves!
Hillary Clinton will NOT escape. Man´s justice can be blind but divine justice is not. While we may not see her pay for her Benghazi decisions that led to 4 murders in her lifetime, she will still have to answer for the lives lost under her watch to their Maker. She has blood on her hands which will never wash away as long as she & this administration refuse to acknowledge their respective parts in this debacle.
I thought it interesting that Hilzilla referred to Benghazi as a ´consulate.´ According to articles I read, it was merely a rented house or estate which is why it didn´t have all the security measures installed. I also read in the same article that the ´safe room´ where some of them went before they crawled out the window was actually a holding cell. The cartoon on the first page today is sooooo true!
I believe they will get away with the carefully crafted deception they created. People died "over there", the public just doesn´t care. The terrorists rightly took this Country´s measure, we no longer have the guts and focus to maintain a long term offensive against terrorism. We are comfy in our sheltered lives. Sad that the ambassador was killed and all that, what´s for dinner tonight? Most don´t care. Sure if you poll them they will say it´s bad and probably a terrorist attack but then they forget about it. Nothing happens when people forget about things.
Clinton acted as a blustering bully and a weeping emotional woman, effective emotional tools that deflect a rational discussion of the issues. Standard progressive tools used to drive emotional decisions instead of rational ones. BO won that way. The Country falls for it. Benghazi is over and done. No one cares.
Can´t help contrasting the media´s treatment of Madam Cyclops and Sarah Palin. They are helping the former get ready for her run. This babe will be waddling around the White House before you know it. Disheartening.
I’ve often wondered whether Hillary acquired her morals and character traits from Bill or if it was the other way around. Whichever, I continue to perceive the two of them as The Bonnie and Clyde of the Public Sector.
The phony video story is so clumsy it catches all the attention, and takes attention away from the real story, which is the secret CIA operation at the annex, and Ambassador Stephens meeting with the Turkish emissary arranging the gun running operation. That was the big secret that required Obama and HRC to order no rescue and let the men die rather than expose the operation with a high profile military rescue operation.
The administration is quite happy to egg on its face for the clumsy video story. That may be embarrassing, but the alternative story would be devestating.
You are right No. 14. The answer lies with the 30 who escaped and have been hidden from us. I heard the much criticized Lindsey Graham say this very thing on Jay Sekulow´s program. He said no one will break silence on this.
Thomas Sowell is not just "some journalist". He´s one of the most brilliant conservative writers alive today and we here at Lucianne take heed of every word he writes. Oh, that he had been our first black president!
Not to get personal, but unfortunately for Mrs. Clinton, her outside is matching up to her inside and it is not a pleasant picture. Someone needs to tell her that being unkempt does not enhance her intellect. It just says she is lazy and lacks personal pride in her appearance. Nevertheless, with the bloviating and weak questioning by the Republicans she managed to walk away set for a 2016 run. Way to go guys. Once again, you failed to take advantage of an opportunity to get answers for the families of those four dead Americans. Abject failure on your parts.
Yes, the shouting and tears is all a smoke screen. The louder a person gets the less likely anyone is going to pursue the point. She then quietly went into another room and laughed her head off, as she got by with all the drama.
Once the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi is seen for what it was — a highly coordinated and highly successful operation by terrorists who were said to have been vanquished — that calls into question the Obama administration´s Middle East foreign policy.
In my opinion, our foreign policy is exceedingly Muslim-friendly to the point of decreasing America´s national security. It seems clear that this Administration is preparing to soften any and all restrictions on Sharia Law in our Courts, in our schools and in the workplace.
I firmly believe that Obama, not a Christian as he claims, is a Muslim who will facilitate a Muslim America with himself at the helm, helped along by his complete refusal to punish terrorists or to deter Iran´s nuclear program.
In short, he is setting America up to be a Muslim nation, which is why he won´t call them terrorists and is so friendly and slavering toward them.
The most foolish part of her answer was if the attack was because of fellows out walking that night deciding to kill some Americans, Senator Johnson should, have interrupted her right then and asked who has ever suggested such a possibility? That would have stopped Madame´s adolescent tirade. Why does the GOP always play defense?
Hillary flubbed her screen test. Her outburst was rehearsed and rehearsed to appear to be from the heart but in the end it was not believable. Notice that she was constantly glancing down at her talking points through her goggles during the entire outburst. Hillary, don´t call us, we´ll call you.
Mrs Clinton is being intervieweed on Fox Cable News tonight by Greta V>S> . THIS is Greta´s opportunity to stand out as a REAL JOURNALIST and to ask the toughest possible questions and forget the kissy=kissy garbage. Make the questions so hard that Mrs Clinton will take a hike off the set and forget her 2016 plans. Don´t ask if she READ the cables from Libya, ask if she was aware of the situation that had been ongoing for a year. Ask if she watched the massacre in real time and subsequently twisted the truth. Ask about the gun running to terrorists. Ask if in fact the consulate was an FBI safe-house. and so forth. If she cannot answer the questions, she has no right to ANY official office, because she is either incompetent or unable to manage a high position in the Government, or a liar ( in my opinion ). Congress asked her virtually NOTHING. Greta can do the job if she is willing to. maybe she will win a broadcasting prize ?
If Hillary is going to run for Prez in 2016, there sure is a lot of work to do on her physically. She needs a new hairdo, lose about 100 lbs and reduce her thighs - she must have enough money for cosmetic surgery. I´m pretty sure the glasses will come off or new contact lenses will be invented for her.
It is shocking how her appearance has degraded since leaving the WH. At least while she was in the Senate, her hair style was professional looking. Now she just looks unkempt - what´s with the long, stringy hair? Maddy Half-bright actually improved her appearance as SOS. If Maddy could do it, surely Hil could, since she had a lot of Hollywood connections when Bill was in the WH.
Here is what I don´t understand. Stevens was a well-known homosexual. Muslims like nothing better than decapitating homosexuals. Knowing this, why in the hxll would Hillary send him to a muslim country?
With the media solidly behind her for 2016 and their heart´s darling, Obama, behind her now--there´s no way that the sheeple will see through her lies and chicanery. They haven´t yet. Why will they start now? They see her pose as ´feisty´.
Congratulations to Lucianne for aggregating this newest Tom Sowell writing. Usually the quiet and pure ideological leader in the free market of ideas, today, Tom blasts out at our lying leadership, The Hoaxters, the people that would lie to us to protect their powerful political careers and would totally abandon their duties to protect the nation. Tom Sowell has always written about the good things found in a free market Today, he shouts out the bad things about our lying leadership. America needs every good citizen to speak up. Now is the time.
She never mentioned the Video nor did anyone ask her about. She is a lying woman and very cunning. It was a lovefest for Madame Hillary! Rand Paul was the only one there with guts to tell her he would have relieved her of duties The Republicans are Wimps and she seems to be off the hook. Case Closed
Good one #13! The QUEEN OF LIES! That trumps Cankles and Hildebeast. So now who is the bigger liar, her, or her pasty philandering bubba?
Speaking of liars, paging Susan Rice, paging Barry Hussein, paging Eric Holder, paging Joe Biden, paging Bill Clinton, Paging Hillary Clinton, paging Jay Carney, paging Tim Geithner, paging Chuck Schumer, paging Barney Frank, Paging Valerie Jarrett, to the White Courtesy Deceivers/ Liars Phone!
We oughtta be ashamed of these people and MORE ashamed of the ass-press rump-swab lap dog enemedia for carrying their lies to us like fresh garbage every damn day...I am so sick of these liars I could go skeet shooting!
The more I see and hear, the more convinced I am that they are all a bunch of liars, all covering up for each other. The Borgias could not be more corrupt than those that work inside our highest levels of government.
Just for starters, if the American deaths in Benghazi had been the result of "some guys out for a walk one night who decided they´d go kill some Americans", it is doubtful the "guys" would have attacked with the same weaponry, that it would have taken hours, and that events and circumstances would have been such that a target would have been "painted" for help that never came because of the actions and inactions of their own government which ultimately resulted in unnecessary loss of American life.
The ending result of an attack by "some guys out for a walk" would likely have been far different, causing fewer questions, and the administration would have been just lying through their teeth and making up stories about domestic things, as usual.
We wouldn´t have had an asinine story about a YouTube video causing a riot, that resulted in an innocent man spending time in jail as part of an elaborate government cover-up of what really happened in Benghazi.
And, we wouldn´t have had a ludicrous charade of a hearing on the matter that turned into a praise fest for a representative of an administration that should have its hide nailed to the wall instead.
The thirty peole who escaped to Germany - who are they? Were they CIA agents? One is forced to think that they must have been playing some kind of cloak and dagger role for them to remain so totally anonymous
I do think that the drone operators should e subpoened and I heard on KFI, a 50,000 watt radio station from so calif, that those types of Drones can be armed. Were they armed and did anyone order the shots? also the family member of one of the 4 that were killed told a reporter that ´we don´t even know how he was killed.´ and the reporter said, can´t an autopsy be done? She said he was cremated so no.
In a major rant at radio host Sway Calloway this week Kanye West went full tilt against the fashion establishment that is preventing him from unleashing his artistry-in-apparel on the world: “I am Warhol. I am the No. 1 most impactful artist of our generation. I am Shakespeare in the flesh. Walt Disney. Nike. Google. Now, who’s going to be the Medici family and stand up and let me create more? Or do you want to marginalize me til I’m out of my moment?” Dear Kanye Warhol-Shakespeare-Disney-Google-West, So you want to be a fashion designer! You actually did launch a
PHILADELPHIA--A horse pulling a buggy with an Amish family aboard in rural Pennsylvania was struck by a bullet fired from a moving car and later died, police said on Tuesday.(Snip)"At the time, they believed it was a firecracker," Weaver said. "They didn´t realize it was a gunshot." The family continued home, where they realized the animal had been injured. "When they got to the farm, the farmer noticed blood from the horse´s mouth," Weaver said. The horse died before a veterinarian arrived.
The Treasury Department said on Thursday that it would sell its remaining shares in General Motors by year’s end, allowing the government to finally sever ties to the bailed-out automaker a few months sooner than expected.(Snip)Barring a sudden jump in G.M.’s stock price, the government is on track to lose about $10 billion on its investment. So far, it has recovered about $38.4 billion. By contrast, other rescue efforts, including the bailout of the American International Group, have generated profits for taxpayers. But administration officials have long argued that the aim was not to make a profit from its investments
WASHINGTON — A mutiny has erupted among photographers who cover President Obama over what they say is the White House’s increasing practice of excluding them from events involving the president and then releasing its own photos or video.(Snip)“As surely as if they were placing a hand over a journalist’s camera lens,” the three-page letter said, “officials in this administration are blocking the public from having an independent view of important functions of the executive branch of government.” The Obama administration has embraced social media as a way to get its message to the public beyond the traditional news media.
Secretary of State John Kerry just scrapped 190 years of U.S. foreign policy in Latin America, casually declaring the Monroe Doctrine is over. Why didn´t he just ring the dinner triangle for Russia, China, Iran and their terrorist catspaws to set up shop, too? "President James Monroe," Kerry told the Organization of American States in Washington Monday, "declared that the United States would unilaterally, and as a matter of fact, act as the protector of the region... And throughout our nation´s history, successive presidents have reinforced that doctrine and made a similar choice. "Today, however, we have made a different choice. The
After allegations were made about the legitimacy of the author´s account of the attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya last September, Simon & Schuster has halted publication and sale of The Embassy House: The Explosive Eyewitness Account of the Libyan Embassy Siege by the Solider Who Was There, by Sgt. Morgan Jones and Damien Lewis. "In light of information that has been brought to our attention since the initial publication of The Embassy House, we have withdrawn from publication and sale all formats of this book, and are recommending that booksellers do the same," said Jennifer Robinson,
AVANNAH, Ga. — The uninsured pour into Memorial Health hospital here: the waitress with cancer in her voice box who for two years assumed she just had a sore throat. (Snip) Now, in a perverse twist, many of the poor people who rely on safety-net hospitals like Memorial will be doubly unlucky. A government subsidy, little known outside health policy circles but critical to the hospitals’ survival, is being sharply reduced under the new health law. The subsidy, which for years has helped defray the cost of uncompensated and undercompensated care, was cut substantially on the assumption that the hospitals
The nation’s view of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, colored by the horrific Benghazi assassination of the U.S. ambassador to Libya on her watch, has suddenly turned upside down, with more now holding an unfavorable opinion of the likely 2016 presidential candidate. A new YouGov/Economist poll found Clinton, whose approval ratings have typically been sky high, with an unfavorable rating of 48 percent, more than the 46 percent who have a favorable opinion of her. The YouGov pollsters said that the change in American attitudes toward Clinton "suggests that negative press surrounding the tragic
President Obama will cast growing income inequality and a decline in economic mobility as a “fundamental threat to the American dream” during a speech Wednesday in Washington. The speech will serve as an early preview for next year’s State of the Union address, according to a White House official, who said Obama would focus much of his energy over the next three years on the issue. “The decisions we make over the next few years will determine whether or not our children will grow up in an America where, if you work hard, you can get ahead,” the official said.
Bill Clinton, the cliché goes, was the first black president, no matter his skin color. That being the case, Barack Obama is not the first black president, or the first African-American president, if you prefer, but the first hippie president. Clinton’s southern background and lifestyle were indeed more typically black, just as Obama’s was more typically hippie. And we’re not just talking about the “Choom gang” here, scarfing “Maui Wowie” on the sands of Oahu. We’re talking about all of it, the whole multi-culti-missing-white-mother-vanished-Kenyan-father-anti-imperialist-America-is-always-the-enemy-and-don’t-you-forget-it-nine-yards. And like most hippie culture as I knew and experienced it, it wasn’t about “peace and love.” Not
Good stuff from Jonathan Turley at today’s House hearing on executive power, although I regret that I couldn’t find a more user-friendly format for you to watch. There’s no compilation clip; you’ll have to make do with the C-SPAN embed by fast-forwarding to the time cues I give you and being patient while the vid buffers (and buffers, and buffers).(Snip)That brings us to point two: Even if Congress can’t stop Obama, the courts can. The problem there, though, says Turley, is that O and the DOJ have argued successfully in many cases that no one has standing to sue him
During a presentation at the White House in which President Barack Obama touted the benefits of the Affordable Care Act, the president declared that his signature health care reform law was not going to be repealed. This assertion led his administration members, his staff, and audience members to rise from their seats and give the president a standing ovation. Obama said that ACA opponents’ alternative to the health care reform law is to champion repeal and going back to the health care delivery system status quo ante. He specifically cited Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) who he said was asked directly for
A woman has revealed how difficult it is to eat healthily and stay full when living off an average food stamp budget. Melinda Moulton, from Huntington, Vermont, was one of 200 people to take part in the 3Squares Challenge, which saw her living for a week on just $36 worth of food, or around $1.71 a meal. Opting to try and eat as healthily as possible, Ms Moulton resorted to cheap foods like yogurt for breakfast, two handfuls of peanuts for lunch and lentil stew for dinner, all of which left her unsatisfied.´I don´t know how people do it,´ said
Just over two weeks ago, MSNBC host Martin Bashir delivered a harsh piece of commentary that culminated in the suggestion that someone should “s-h-i-t” in former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin‘s (R-AK) mouth. Bashir offered an abject apology on his next broadcast, but a chorus of critics continued to demand action against the host. After a reported “vacation” for the host earlier this week, Bashir announced, Wednesday afternoon, that MSNBC and Martin Bashir are parting ways. Here’s the statement from Martin Bashir, via email: After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday. Upon
