| One of the issues that the NRI summit has tackled is whether the Republican party is actuarially doomed by the disproportionate growth of ethnic groups that tend to vote Democrat. For many, that question boils down to what conservatives can do to appeal more to Hispanics. I agree that the GOP needs to lose its reputation for intolerance — and fast. But the real demographic challenge to conservatism is deeper and more difficult, and it has nothing to do with ethnicity. We have to stop falling for the bait. Rather than talk about appealing to specific ethnic groups, we should reject that idea and talk about appealing to human beings. We should be quoting MLK about content of character, rather than color of skin, and point out how insulting it is to assume that people of a certain group (ethnicity/sex/socio-economic) ALL think the same way. We need to make it clear we want everyone to prosper, and will do what we can to help them.

Sorry, but I just don´t see it happening. OP is correct, we do have a strong bench, but as soon as someone emerges as a leader, there will be those on our side who will ridicule. I agree with many who have said, Reagan would not unite conservatives today. How bout we get behind an ex-democrat, former pro-choice, signed amnesty legislation, Hollywood actor, etc. See what I mean?

I can´t emphasize this enough: 65 million and change voted for Obama; 63 million and change voted for either Romney or somebody else. How many of those two million Obama votes are fraudulent?
Obama does NOT have a mandate, as much as he and the MSM would like us to believe he does.
Going forward, the GOP needs to talk about character, opportunity, and how identity politics has polarized this country. In the Reagan era, having a great job in the private sector was considered to be really cool. Pres. Reagan lifted government off the backs of the people and the private sector thrived.
We need to go back to that thinking.

It doesn´t matter that Obama doesn´t have a mandate -- he´s POTUS again and that gives him power to override the 63 million who didn´t vote for him.
He cannot be stopped unless we get some Divine intervention, because he will find extra-Constitutional and extra-legal ways to bypass the Law. He will get done what he wants.
Our other hope is that the country´s economy craps out and the stage for revolution is set. Then it will be the People against the government and will the military fire on its own citizens?
In years past, the answer would be unequivocally no. Today, not so sure, given the makeup of the military.

There’s a huge red flag in the Benghazi mess, but conservatives are letting the media get away with using a red herring to avoid it. Give the establishment media credit for obstinacy: Once it settles on a standard narrative or explanation for a particular subject, it shows remarkable discipline in explaining away any evidence that contradicts its own approved spin. So it has been with the media’s 250-day old determination to downplay the scandalous nature of the Obama administration’s treatment of its outpost in Benghazi before, during, and after the terrorist attack there that took four American lives.

We hear a lot, these days, about how President Obama is not like Lyndon Johnson and thanks be to heaven for that small mercy. The point seems to be that the president doesn´t know how to arm twist, sweet talk, bribe, and emasculate both friend and enemy (of which he truly had neither) in order to further his agenda. More whistleblowers will emerge shortly in the escalating Benghazi scandal, according to two former U.S. diplomats who spoke with PJ Media Monday afternoon. These whistleblowers, colleagues of the former diplomats, are currently securing legal counsel because they work in areas not fully protected by the Whistleblower law. WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.
