| The Very Rev. Gary Hall, dean of the National Cathedral in Washington, said Thursday morning that "people of faith" should come together to fight for gun control against the "gun lobby." In his opening remarks at a press conference on gun control organized by California Democrat Dianne Feinstein, Hall spoke about the influence of the so-called gun lobby in Washington. "Now, everyone in this city seems to live in terror of the gun lobby," Hall said. "But I believe the gun lobby is no match for the cross lobby." Watch the video below:

I guess the very rev hall doesn´t read the Bible or know what is in it. there is this one verse where Jesus tells his disciples, “But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.” (Luke 22:36 KJV)
The sword he was talking about was the roman short sword, the premier hand held weapon of the day, this would be equated to an "assault weapon" trying to be banned now

All references to religion should be abolished in all government buildings and meetings and all employees from the President to the janitor. No pay for Thanksgiving or Christmas Holidays.

No one and I do mean no one should "register" their firearms when the government demands it. Tell them nothing. Confiscation follows shortly after you "register". Do not surrender your firearms when they demand it.
Would the Jews have been slaughtered by the Nazis if they had been armed and resisted? Would the millions of Ukrainians who were starved to death by Stalin have suffered if they had been armed and resisted? Would Pol Pot have been able to murder millions of Cambodians if they had been armed and resisted?
Do not register your arms. Do not surrender your arms. Do not allow the government to turn you into a peasant begging for your life.

#10 one, what does your statement have to do with the topic and two, our government was founded upon the principles of God. No where in the constitution is there any words that prohibit the free exercise of religion, the only words about religion are against a state run religion which is what you are promoting going against the very constitution. trolls you got to just wonder sometimes

It´s obvious that Poster #12 gets it. I mean really gets it. We all need to have that passion if we are to survive and protect the 2nd Amendment.
What is going to happen when we have nationwide turmoil, when (not if) our economy collapses? What will we do if there are food riots? Zippy and his communist ilk know that they have set the table for these events to come by creating this massive debt and destroying the American economy. People are scared when there are no jobs and no food.
Zippy wants us to go to him and TSA (domestic army) to save us. They will choose who to save and not who to save if they have the guns and we don´t. If you think he will save the suburbs, Texas, fly-over country, etc. think again.

This is the same Episcopal Church whose national seminary rector cavalierly declared (loudly, and three times) "abortion is a blessing and our work is not finished" at her installation ceremony.
We´ve seen how they are willing to treat defenseless babies in their mother´s womb. I take that as an indication of how much confidence WE can have in their leadership after they´ve manged to render the whole population defenseless against authoritarian socialism.

#12 is right. And after they took the guns from the civilians, often peasantry, they had to return for the pitchforks and other farm implements which were weilded as weapons.
The point is to completely subdue anyone who MIGHT resist, oppose.
EVERY tyrant disarms the populace because he is totalitarian, he can not tolerate resistance to the exercise of his power over ALL spheres of life.

Yes, #2. "This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men" (Mark 7:6-8).
I agree, #5. It bothers me that flawed humans elevate themselves with religious titles such as reverend. It is worse when even reverend isn´t enough and they choose to be called "most high", "very reverend" and the like.
Even the apostles, who were chosen by Christ, admonished people not to bow before them. [´Stand up; I myself am also a man´" (Acts 10:25,26).]

Maybe they should go into the poorest neighbor hood in Washington and see if the residents there "fear the gun lobby." I guess very few of them attend Mr. Hall´s church, since he believes "everyone" fears the gun lobby. What is the "cross lobby?" Crosses at one time were very prominent in my state at KKK rallies. Did they not teach him at seminary that the cross is a pagan symbol used by Christians to remind us of our redeemer´s death for our salvation?

The usually-cocksure Jay Carney has rarely appeared so uncomfortable. “What I can tell you is that this president believes strongly in the First Amendment and is a strong defender of the First Amendment,” Carney insisted to a packed house of angry reporters last Tuesday afternoon. The White House had just been freshly stung by news that the Department of Justice had secretly raided the phone records of up to 100 Associated Press reporters, looking to identify the news organization’s private sources. He believes strongly in the need for the press to be unfettered in its pursuit of investigative journalism,”

President Obama "was kept up to date" on the terror attack in Benghazi "throughout the entire night, from the moment it started until the very end," the president´s senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer told "Fox News Sunday." But repeatedly pressed for details on where the president was and what the president was doing on the night of Sept. 11, 2012, Pfeiffer dodged the question, saying only that Obama was "kept up to date with the events as they were happening." Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace, pressing Pfeiffer to fill in the blanks, noted that Obama was

BAGHDAD— A string of car bombs and shootings killed at least 57 people in Shiite and Sunni areas of Iraq on Monday, officials said, escalating fears of a return to widespread sectarian bloodletting in the country. The attacks, some of which hit market places and crowded bus stops during the morning rush hour, pushed the death toll in Iraq since Wednesday to more than 200. The bloodshed over the past week has been reminiscent of the retaliatory attacks between Sunnis and Shiites that pushed the country to the brink of civil war in 2006-2007.

On the May 19 broadcast of CNN´s State of the Union, host Candy Crowley said that Obama was late in identifying the attacks in Benghazi as terrorism quite contrary to what she said during the Presidential debates late last year. As Crowley questioned White House spokesman Dan Pfeiffer, she pressed him on whether or not the President was aware of the Benghazi talking points being written and re-written by the Department of State and the intel community, re-writes that eventually eliminated any mention that the attacks were perpetrated by terrorists. In reply, Pfeiffer blithely told Crowley that "no president"

The IRS scandal keeps getting closer and closer to the top of the White House food chain as Obama officials desperately try to spin their way out of mounting evidence and foul play. The Wall Street Journal is reporting President Obama´s top attorney knew about the IRS targeting weeks ago before news broke, but of course, Obama still didn´t know about it until he learned about it "from the news." The White House´s chief lawyer learned weeks ago that an audit of the Internal Revenue Service likely would show that agency employees inappropriately targeted conservative groups,

ATLANTA –When Ed Buckner and his family went to a north Georgia state park to celebrate his son´s birthday, he was surprised and concerned to find Bibles in the state-owned cabin he had rented. An atheist, Buckner believes that no religious literature should be provided in government-owned lodging, and he presented that concern to management at the Amicalola Falls State Park. Officials told Buckner they would remove the Bibles from all state park resorts while the state attorney general looked into the matter. Not long afterward, however, the AG issued a ruling saying the state

COLLEGE PARK, Md- Chief executive officer of large organizations all face the same problem -- driving their agendas in organizations too diverse and geographically dispersed to manage directly. They hire competent managers for their units, set goals and establish clear metrics for evaluating performance. As in politics, competition in business is tough and CEOs must set ethical boundaries for their managers´ conduct. In all this, the CEO´s personal conduct is critical. Early in his presidency, Barack Obama flaunted U.S. constitutional tradition by pushing through major social legislation, Obamacare, without a bipartisan compromise and consensus.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.
