| Republican Senators and Congressmen thought they finally had a chance to cross-examine Secretary Clinton Wednesday on the Obama administration’s failure to provide adequate security for our Benghazi consulate. They thought they could grill her about what happened both before the attacks that killed our ambassador and three others and the failure to mount rescue operations once the attacks began. Instead, the Secretary turned the tables and chastised Congress for failing to provide adequate funding to protect our people.

I agree that there were more pertinent questions they could have asked, however, the way it was set up to allow only five minutes of questioning was outrageous and was not conducive to receiving substantial information. Who made the decision to allow only five minutes? The Democrats?

One after another they lined up to ask the same tired old questions about timelines and talking points and cable traffic. They spent more time grandstanding than grilling. They looked like a bunch of Pygmies going up against the great Zulu warrior.
Exactly, Ms. McF. I´ve been saying the whole time that McPain and Graham braying about when Susan Rice knew what is just silly. They should have questioned the ROOT of the issue, but AS ALWAYS, they contented themselves with appearing to do something while letting her waltz away. Morons.

Excellent article. The dem pols answer to EVERYTHING is ALWAYS more taxpayers´ hard earned money in TAXES so THEY can decide how & where to spend it instead of us, regardless of how inappropriate that supposed, ´remedy,´ is to each specific situation. Dems no longer even attempt to engage in factual policy discussions, much less logical accountability inquiries, regarding issues of policy AND the results which they demonstrably produce, as in Benghazi!
The slippery, evasive Mrs. slick tried yet again yesterday to sidetrack responsibility & reform by again asking for more $$$. She sounded like a broken record. Her schtick is so old, over-used and irrelevant, how could anyone not recognize the con?

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says it wants as many as 20 percent of its workers to "telework," use an "alternative work schedule," or do both, in order to "reduce green house gas emissions," decrease "employee stress," and give these government workers more time for "planning and preparing healthy meals." So says one of the HHS "performance measures" detailed in an appendix to the department´s latest strategic plan. HHS´s performance measure "4.D.05" says: "Increase the percent employees on telework or on Alternative Work Schedule." Telework means working from home via phone and computer.

Bloodletting, in the form of firings, dismissals, resignation, and expulsions, is a tribal rite in political Washington. It is most often used by the powerful on anyone less powerful as a symbolic sacrifice. Steven Miller, the now former acting commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, is the latest victim of ritual sacrifice. This week the Obama White House demanded his resignation to demonstrate the president’s “anger” at news that the IRS targeted conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status for added review and slow approval. The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men.
