| Of all the diabolically clever moves the anti-choice lobby has ever pulled, surely one of the greatest has been its consistent co-opting of the word “life.” Life! Who wants to argue with that? Who wants be on the side of … not-life? That’s why the language of those who support abortion has for so long been carefully couched in other terms. While opponents of abortion eagerly describe themselves as “pro-life,” the rest of us have had to scramble around with not nearly as big-ticket words like “choice” and “reproductive freedom.” The “life”

"Yet a fetus can be a human life without having the same rights as the woman in whose body it resides. She’s the boss. Her life and what is right for her circumstances and her health should automatically trump the rights of the non-autonomous entity inside of her. Always."
Very interesting. Sounds a bit like slavery to me. Isn´t that how the argument went? I´m the master because I´m superior, and therefore my rights trump those of my slaves, always? Up to and including killing them as it suits me?

I couldn´t believe her article. I know I will have a tough time at the pearly gates explaining my sins, but I can´t imagine what she will go thru. How can she say life begins at conception but that she has no problem killing that life just because it is in her body? How can she be that cavalier about killing a baby? Shocking is not nearly the right word.

Yes, by all means, let´s change the dialogue and admit that a pregnancy involves a real life. So what, she says? It´s the mother´s choice what happens to the baby (It really is a baby, isn´t it?) But why stop in the womb? That mother should also have the right to ´terminate´ the life of that baby no matter how old it is. What´s the difference? In the womb or out of the womb, it´s a mother´s choice. Baby killers disgust me.

Yes we kill people and sometimes innocent people in course of war, law and order actions. But there is a difference. Never is the individual who benefits from it allowed to take that decision by himself. If a Guardsman at say Kent State had opened fire without on orders on someone he spotted in the crowd and had reason to hate. He would be guilty of MURDER. Thats what the issue is. Society has and will always have an eminent interest. Liberals cannot wriggle themselves away from that.

What a perfectly horrible person.
Read the article to see where the other side is going.
Note that she says that if she found herself pregnant... she would have what she describes as "the World´s Greatest Abortion."
She is a bully who feels no shame at the killing of an innocent human. She attempts to justify it.
Seems to me that that argument has been made before in Germany before the middle of the last century.

If you can´t understand the difference between a seriously injured accident victim who is dying and an 8 month old fetus who is about to have his brains sucked out of his head and then have his skull crushed you shouldn´t be writing columns about the meaning of life and death. FTA: "As Roe v. Wade enters its fifth decade, we find ourselves at one of the most schizo moments in our national relationship with reproductive choice."
Indeed. Asking "So what if abortion ends life?", which is acknowledging that it is, and then killing it anyway, is indeed schizophrenic.

Women like this have screwed up heads. A baby conceived of a one night stand..a hookup, no love involved..just plain lust of the moment..a baby conceived under those conditions is not worthy of life and love in their sick minds. They think they get a free pass for their loose behavior. The guy sure doesn´t respect her, she doesn´t respect herself, and she doesn´t respect the life within her. Disgusting.

Mary Elizabeth Williams is a ghoul of the worst sort. The poster child for "kill it before it grows!" abortion lovers.
If you read the comments, the poster named Ken is absolutely hysterical about any restrictions on abortion and any designation of "life" to a baby at any stage of gestation. That, there, is a guilty conscience in action.

A fetus is a human life, "It is a life worth ending." That woman could have written copy for Adolph Hitler. I do not say that for the shock value. She takes what is an obvious and outrageous idea and turns it into a wonderful benediction! The baby is a life worth ending. A human being worth killing! No small wonder this nation is in the mess it is in with people like her writing opinion pieces.

We are seeing firsthand in our generation, the Nazi mindset - some life is more valuable than others; just because it´s alive, doesn´t mean you shouldn´t/can´t kill it; etc. This is not a human being; she is a monster, ready to defend anyone who devours another life for any means. Imagine being one of her children! "Thanks, Mom, for having me and not okaying me to get sucked apart, limb by limb or burned alive by salt....Um, Mom? Do our roles reverse when you are in a nursing home or are no longer useful alive to me?"

I wonder how she ever found out that the defenders of the babies even use the word "life"? The LIV lapdog media certainly never use the term "pro-life" when reporting on the topic. For them it´s always "anti-abortion rights", worded to sound as negative as possible toward pro-lifers ("anti-) and as positive as possible about their own side ("rights").

So, it´s taken forty years for the pro-aborts to finally face the fact that has been true all along. I think it is a good sign for us that one of them is giving up their 40-year obfuscating strategy. Now their argument seems to be, "Some babies need killing." I think that´s a tougher sell than our pitch.

Lets be honest, abortions to save the life of the mother are way less than 1%. Quite simply that is a red herring when in some locations 40% of pregnancies are terminated. Nor are death panels saving the lives of the heirs by terminating their parents or grandparents. And it is tranference on a grand scale accuse pro=lifers of choosing the terms of the debate when you have decided label pro=termination as pro-choice.

Minutes before the bombs blew up in Boston, Jeff Bauman looked into the eyes of the man who tried to kill him. Just before 3 p.m. on April 15, Bauman was waiting among the crowd for his girlfriend to cross the finish line at the Boston Marathon. A man wearing a cap, sunglasses and a black jacket over a hooded sweatshirt looked at Jeff, 27, and dropped a bag at his feet, his brother, Chris Bauman, said in an interview. Two and a half minutes later, the bag exploded, tearing Jeff’s legs apart.

Barack Obama´s administration has cut the budget nearly in half for preventing domestic bombings, MailOnline can reveal. Under President George W. Bush, the Department of Homeland Security had $20 million allocated for preventing the use of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) by terrorists working inside the United States. The current White House has cut that funding down to $11 million. That assessment comes from Robert Liscouski, a former Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Infrastructure Protection, in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings on April 15 that killed three Americans and injured at least 173 others.

Though the EPA has already sent out the documents, the agency now says it has since redacted sensitive details and asked the environmental groups to “return the information.” But Sen. The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
