A White House adviser on Sunday said he was optimistic Congress will approve at least part of President Barack Obama´s proposals to reduce gun violence in the wake of December´s massacre at a Connecticut elementary school. Just hours before Obama was to be sworn in for his second term in office, White House adviser David Plouffe said on Sunday talk shows he felt there was support in Congress for some measures, including universal background checks for gun buyers and limits on high-capacity clips. "I´m confident some of the measures you mentioned - clips, universal background checks -

Legislation required the cooperation of Congress. Boehner & Co. had better hod the line.

Interesting, however, I can find nothing whatsoever in Obama´s current tyrannical wet dream that has anything whatsoever to do with "gun violence"

There´s only one reason any government would want to disarm it´s own people, and I think we all pretty much know what it is...

I don´t think it will. We have people up for re-election and they come from pro-gun states. They´re playing with fire if they do. Especially Reid who accepted donations from the NRA.

I used to call magazines "clips," until somebody intelligent explained the difference.

And I wish Hannity would stop calling them clips, too. Or maybe not. Maybe the plan is to get the donks to ban clips, and it won´t affect anything.

Is Obama still selling firearms to Mexico´s most violent drug gangs?

Didn´t that get over 300 Mexican citizens murdered?

Why isn´t Reuters covering the "Fast & Furious" scandal?

Is Obama still hiding behind executive privilege, and refusing to answer all questions about F&F?

I plan to purchase another pistol on Tuesday, a kel tec 9mm, which I like to call the Saint Trayvon model.
And if I buy the pistol from a dealer, I have to undergo a background check. But if I buy it from a private individual here in Pennsylvania, I still have to go through a background check, and the transfer has to be done through a dealer.
Not a big deal. But if rifles and shotguns are included, that is a big deal.

Count the guns before Obama decided to make things "better."

Count them now.

It is a perfect example of any Progressive´s aggressive ignorance regarding Cause and Effect.

#4 Never call a Magazine a Clip around a Navy Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) Instructor. I saw someone make that mistake once and it was not pretty.

If the House goes along with anything from Obama on Gun Control, the Weepie-Eyed Bonner will be Primaried in 2014 and if he makes it past that, he will be clobbered in the fundraising race for the November election.

The biggest Anti-Bonner contributor will be the NRA and he knows that.

Maybe all GOP leadership candidates should be Primaried because most all are spineless wussies!

‘Primary-The-RINO PAC’. Yup, that’s the ticket.

I have a whole coffee can full of clips for my M-1 Garand. I have a whole lot of drawers full of magazines for most everything else.
I have a few jars full of stripper clips for rapid loading of magazines.
See? Its pretty straight forward. Not confusing at all.

Let´s ban the illegal sale of firearms into Mexico and gaol all who were nvolved.

The largest clip I have ever seen only held ten rounds of .556 ammo. The clips came in bandoliers; we used them to load our magazines.

When I see someone correct another poster for using the word "clip" instead of "magazine," I automatically assume that you are one of the douchebags that did not bother to vote last November because Romney was not "pure" enough. Is that what you really want other posters to think? Oh, and by the way, are you happy now?

Reply 15 - Posted by: Guillermo Sepulveda, 1/20/2013 6:08:23 PM     (No. 9128699)

#14 - Probably so regarding the Romney vote. I´ve been around guns all my life, served in the military, and am an NRA Life Member. Still sometimes use the word ´clip´ without apologies. I know the proper word is ´magazine´ like a bullet is not a ´cartidge´. What really matters is that I did vote and I know very well how to use my guns.

Remember the nasty doctrine: Never let a crisis go to waste.

Media jumped on the school shooting by yelling Gun Control,in order to cover up Bengazi hearings that are to begin soon.

The House should loudly and publicly rake Barry and his cronies over the coals over Benghazi and Fast and Furious. The House members should be so obnoxious over these scandals that the media cannot help but report it.

Europe´s largest economy Germany, which has been criticized for not doing enough to help struggling euro zone countries, has topped a poll as the world´s most popular country. The IRS scandal smoking gun?

COLLEGE PARK, Md- In the Internal Revenue Service targeting scandal and others, Washington and the media are obsessed with the question: What did the president know and when did he know it? That misses the point. Barack Obama´s presidency is much more damaging to the nation than the mistakes of subordinates now coming to light. Most recently, we learned Obama met with anti-Tea Party IRS Union President Colleen Kelley just before the tax agency began targeting conservative groups. Is that the smoking gun? Was the president in on the plan to harass opponents of big government?

WASHINGTON - Three days of congressional hearings about the Internal Revenue Service´s targeting of conservative political groups have lawmakers looking for ways to widen an investigation that has so far been largely contained within the tax collection agency. More than 11 hours of testimony and an inspector general´s report have revealed plenty of wrongdoing within the IRS. But so far, investigators have not produced evidence that anyone outside the IRS authorized the targeting, or even knew about it before a few weeks ago. They will keep trying. Three congressional committees are investigating the matter, and the leaders of those committees

A Wall Street Journal editorial socks it to the president and his hands-off management style. Every day brings new revelations about who knew what about the IRS targeting conservative groups during President Obama´s re-election campaign, but the overall impression is of a vast federal bureaucracy run amok. While the White House continues to peddle the story of a driverless train wreck, taxpayers are being treated to a demonstration of the dangers of an unwieldy and unaccountable administrative state. Look, Ma, no hands! In his press events, Mr. Obama has said that while he learned about the Cincinnati rogues

LONDON- Two British men of Nigerian descent accused of hacking a soldier to death on a London street in revenge for wars in Muslim countries were known to security services, a source close to the investigation said Thursday. One man, filmed calmly justifying the killing as he stood by the body holding a knife and meat cleaver in bloodied hands, was named by acquaintances as 28-year-old Londoner Michael Adebolajo - a British-born convert to radical Islam. So frenzied was the attack, some witnesses thought they tried to behead the victim.

Ford Motor Co. Ford Australia faces costs double those in Europe and four times those of its Asian divisions, local President Bob Graziano told reporters today. He announced the loss of 1,200 jobs from October 2016 at two plants in Melbourne and Geelong.Australia’s three car makers have struggled as a 27 percent rise in the local dollar against the yen

Former Rep. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
