| Islamist militants seized at least 20 hostages, including as many as seven Americans, at an Algerian natural gas complex Wednesday in a brazen attack linked by the assailants to France’s military intervention in neighboring Mali. At least one foreign worker was reported killed in the early morning assault on the vast In Amenas gas field near Algeria’s eastern border with Libya. The attack, attributed to a unit of al-Qaeda’s offshoot in North Africa, raised concerns about a broadening of Mali’s civil war five days after French forces joined the country’s fight against Islamist insurgents.

watched the movie Delta Force tonight. It gave me a feeling of when I was really proud of how we would rescue the hostages.
Today with this bimbo in the White House.....nothing. Kiss the hostages good-by.

England still has SAS #1. And not all Frenchmen wave white flags. The French Resistance during WWII did amazing things helping the allies escape through France. Let´s not paint them with that awful wide brush. And whether Zippy is able to make any decisions or not, the US Special Forces must be anxious to go. We can use that brush for the current White House occupants.

The Islamo leader was also in Benghazi... and fully expects Obama to respond the same, as in Do Nothing. Obama can´t respond. Taqiyya Tactics allow him to target & kill only rogue arabs, not members of The Muslim Brotherhood invasion team!
France may have failed at their Somalian rescue, due to US giving the Mo Bro´s a heads up...
Can´t have a hostage rescued the week before Obama sends Hillary to Somalia, to bestow Legitimate Government Status on the Arab Spring invading Islamist Muslim Bro´s now in power.... Just like Egypt, Tunisia & Libya!
France... Please keep your rescue tactics in the Sahara close to the vest. May God protect you.

The media will simply pass this off as bad luck for Obama who can´ tbe expected to be perfect everywhere. What he´s accomplishing at home far outweighs some foreign mishaps.
I mean what could be better than going uninsured and then getting same day coverage after you get a brain tumor. If the republicans weren´t so outdated, they could come up with this form of government benevolence.
What could be better than using you house for an ATM and then after the money is blown, the banks eat your underwater value. It´s a mystery to me why people can´t get 2 years behind on their car payment and still keep their cars. Afterall, they need a way to work.
What could be better than getting an extra 6 or 7 grand every time you re-up a student loan and you´re really not expected to pay it back. Rich people and greedy corporations should pay for free college. We need more people with degrees in African studies.

Perhaps Morsi will use his influence and broker a trade of these hostages with O for the Blind Sheik in the course of his "state visit" to O-land, the place formerly known as the USA.

Anyone else notice that Pinata is the only one in the administration that is making statements on this? It wasn´t that long ago that the president would be the one doing this. But then,we really haven´t had a president in four years.

msm will not do it so we all have to: the proximate cause of the this mali rebellion is the intervention in libya by obama. Obama broke the libyan policy that had been in place since Nixon and that finally, finally had started to work under W. Obama smashed it to hell and the Khadafy forces fled to Mali where they have started all this. It´s on him.

Ironic -- isn´t it????
Last time a social/libbies was in the White House -- WE had hostages....
So let´s see if the bamboozler calls carter to ask his advice.
The president´s weakness in foreign affairs will put these people in jeopardy. Best case scenario -- a private black/ops team be hired by their families to get them out.... OR perhaps Bill O´Reilly can work some magic like he did with the Marine illegally held in Mexico. The goooooberment couldn´t get him out -- BUT O´Reilly did....
Hey Bill -- what do you say?

I pray for these hostages and hope they return home unharmed. I can´t help but wonder if shortly after September 11, had we gone into Afghanistan and destroyed their country and broken their will that the terrorists would be rethinking the whole jihad thing. We had the ability but not the will. Now we are being pecked to death by these barbarians. The only way to stomp out this cancer is with overwhelming force and the will to do it. The world knows Obama is weak and that he will never do what needs to be done. The bad guys use to fear us, now they don´t. Our people are sitting ducks who can´t rely on our government to try and rescue them.

Were a Republican in the White House, it would be his or her fault that Americans were taken hostage. The media will give Obama and Mrs. Clinton a pass.
Actually, I think Obama is cover for Mrs. Clinton. If Obama weren´t her boss, she´d take more heat for foreign policy failures. The media will give cover for a lazy black man who has accomplished nothing on his own in life, but not a white woman.
Folks . . . Obama is LAZY and his Marxist views just support his laziness as it is EVERYONE ELSE´S fault that black folks are poor in his way of thinking. There´s no thought to personal responsibility or the Democrat policies that keep black folks in chains.

My prayers go out to all the families of all involved in this horrible situation.
Obozo and Hitlery are no doubt pouring over Youtube videos searching for 1 made by an American to blame this situation on. Can´t possibly be al qaeda responsible because he dismantled them and had them running scared - even though they claim responsibility on a video.
I am quite sure the Americans who escaped saw the blood on the wall in Benghazi and knew they were on their own.
How long before Obozo speaks about this? No dead children involved to push gun control, so I´m sure there is no rush - maybe after tee time?!

I think the Hil wound was from a "LifeStyle Lift as it is called on TV. They picture these folks, men and women, looking like deflated foot-balls in the before and pretty great in the after. How it works is that the muscles attach in the area behind the ear. The surgeon snags it with a hook and pulls back.Presto! tight-face. A lot of hostages are dead. -breaking news.

These folks are ´on their own´. WIth the incompetent people in the current administration running things ´into the ground´ no one is safe abroad.
I highly suggest folks like those taken hostage become very heavily armed for self protection and have many escape/evade options at their ready.

Nothing new here. It takes time to first confer with Valerie, then Michelle, then Pelosi and Reid, then whoever will set up his Teleprompter speech, then get the drive-by sycophants together, make them wait while he plays another round of golf, schedule a Letterman segment, confer again with Valerie, Oprah, and his dog. The UN will have to weigh in with the Rev. Wright, along with the super minds of Al Sharpton, Barbara Streisand, and Matt Damon, who will all have to sit down for lunch together and figure out just how to sound like tough hombres; yet not hurt the feelings of the terrorist or any of the Islamic nations involved. Hostages? Oh, yeah, them...

Journalist Michael Hastings was killed early Tuesday morning in a bizarre car incident in Los Angeles. Hastings, 33, was best known for writing the Rolling Stone story that ended in Gen. Stanley McChrystal’s resignation as head of U.S. forces in Afghanistan. Hastings’ final story, “Why Democrats Love to Spy on Americans,” was a searing take on the NSA snooping scandal, which Hastings described as “North Korea-esque.” Hastings pulled no punches as he linked the NSA scandal to the Department of Justice’s spying on reporters and the IRS abuse scandal. Hastings built a case that the same Democrats who turned Bush-era

An IRS supervisor working in Washington told congressional investigators that she personally reviewed applications from groups for tax-exempt status, in testimony that appears to show the agency’s scrutiny of conservative groups extended beyond the confines of the office in Cincinnati. Holly Paz, who was a supervisor in the Internal Revenue Service’s tax-exempt status division, indicated during an interview with congressional investigators that she did review such applications, but indicated that she believed “tea party” meant political advocacy in general — not necessarily conservative groups.

The Supreme Court ruled today in Arizona v. Inter Tribal Council that federal law does not allow states the option of requiring voters to prove they are American citizens when they register to vote. The National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA, or “Motor Voter”) creates a standardized national system for registering to vote in federal elections. It allows for registration three ways: (1) in person, (2) when you get your driver’s license, or (3) by mail. The Election Assistance Commission (EAC, created by a later federal law in 2002)

WASHINGTON — The National Security Agency sweeps up data on millions of cellphones and Internet communications under secret court orders. But as it mounts a rigorous defense of its surveillance, the agency has disclosed new details that portray its efforts as tightly controlled and limited in scope, while successful in thwarting potential plots. On Sunday, officials said that though the NSA is authorized to collect "geolocational" information that can pinpoint the location of callers, it chooses not to. A secret court order that was made public earlier

t looked bad last week, but it looks much, much worse now. The federal government has been spying and lying. The only comfort is that, apparently, it´s been largely incompetent at both: Nobody believes the lies, and the spying wasn´t even able to catch the Tsarnaev brothers. Not long ago, the Director of National Intelligence assured us that the federal government does not "wittingly" spy on Americans. That has turned out to be a lie. As Fred Kaplan writes in Slate, "We as a nation are being asked to let the National Security Agency continue doing the intrusive

Perhaps a suddenly firearm-friendly President Obama can put in a good word for Jared Marcum. In April, Marcum, an eighth-grader at Logan Middle School in Logan, W. Va., was arrested when he refused to take off his NRA t-shirt. The New York Daily News reports: The clothing kerfuffle began when Marcum wore a shirt bearing the NRA’s logo and a hunting rifle. As he stood in line in the cafeteria, a teacher ordered him to either change shirts or turn it inside out. Marcum declined and was sent to the office, where an officer

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

Likening religious schools to segregation--a racist system that forced blacks to attend different schools and use different facilities than whites in the American South--President Barack Obama told a town hall meeting for youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Monday that there should not be Catholic and Protestant schools because such schools cause division. "Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity--symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others--these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it,"

Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
