| If you’re into good government, the advantage of having wealthy Senators or cabinet members is that they might be less likely to position themselves for a big K Street cashout afterwards. The disadvantage: wealthy people have many, large, diverse investments, thus creating many conflicts of interest. Senator and Secretary of State nominee John Kerry, for instance, owns shares in a Canadian company standing to profit from construction of the Keystone Pipeline, in many green-energy companies that could profit from global climate-change agreements, and in Brazilian oil giant Petrobras, which receives U.S. subsidies. What a shock. Kerry is corrupt. s/o I´m more concerned with his wife dumping millions of dollars into the Soros funded Tides Foundation. The Democrats are all puppets of Soros. He has caused more damage in this country than anyone I can think of. He should be in jail.

Note to senator Grassley!! So congress wants common people to sign COIs in Federal Govt; chase people who are funded by NIH, NSF, USDA etc to declare COIs and the rules don´t apply to the people who were voted in by the voters?????

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says it wants as many as 20 percent of its workers to "telework," use an "alternative work schedule," or do both, in order to "reduce green house gas emissions," decrease "employee stress," and give these government workers more time for "planning and preparing healthy meals." So says one of the HHS "performance measures" detailed in an appendix to the department´s latest strategic plan. HHS´s performance measure "4.D.05" says: "Increase the percent employees on telework or on Alternative Work Schedule." Telework means working from home via phone and computer.

Bloodletting, in the form of firings, dismissals, resignation, and expulsions, is a tribal rite in political Washington. It is most often used by the powerful on anyone less powerful as a symbolic sacrifice. Steven Miller, the now former acting commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, is the latest victim of ritual sacrifice. This week the Obama White House demanded his resignation to demonstrate the president’s “anger” at news that the IRS targeted conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status for added review and slow approval. Next, we’ll watch as Congress takes up the bloodletting knife.

So allow us to do the work for him: There is no comparison. The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
