| While we’re “vigorously” pursuing “meaningful” gun legislation that can’t possibly make it through Congress if it’s anything near “meaningful” enough for this president, let’s also remind everyone that those flashy gun buyback programs local politicians love to tout do about as much to reduce gun violence as, well, gun control does in Chicago. USA Today covers the latest outbreak of gun buybacks, popping up across the nation in the wake of Newtown. They come with flashy local news reports, B-roll rich with antique rifles and other castoff weapons whose confiscation would have been great for preventing stagecoach hold-ups

It may not work in one city, when you can drive a few miles and buy another gun.
But it certainly worked in Australia.

Reply 3 is one part false dichotomy, one part fallacy.
Let’s assume liberals fulfill part of their wish list and big government carries out harsh, nationwide restrictions on so called assault weapons, and side arms. Problem solved, right? rahm emmanuel and chuck schumer could brag how “gun crime” rates had dropped sharply because criminals could no longer “drive a few miles and buy another gun,” right? No, that is untrue, because unlike Australia, the USA shares a 2000 mile, unsecured border with mexico. With no legal weapons available in USA, the hundreds of thousands of illegals who sneak into the country each year would be quite pleased to satisfy the demand for a burgeoning firearms black market.

See, they LOVE that the very agencies tasked with investigating THEIR crimes are going to PAY them to have the very item that could put them in PRISON is to be destroyed, no questions asked!!!!

But that grim immediate outlook raises a far more troubling longer-term prospect for Democrats: that the newly drawn congressional lines have tilted the electoral playing field so decisively in the GOP’s favor that the party could control the House through 2020. That this, in other words, could be the Democrats’ Lost Decade. Three of the past four elections have produced partisan upheaval, so political forecasting must be approached with caution.

Men´s Wearhouse no longer likes the way George Zimmer looks. Zimmer, the founder, chairman and the public face of the discount apparel chain, has been terminated by the company, according to a brief statement from the company. Men´s Wearhouse gave no reason for Zimmer´s departure -- which surfaced on Wednesday, just hours before the company postponed its annual shareholders meeting. A company spokesman declined comment but said Zimmer´s departure would not affect operations.

The ongoing saga of Edward Snowden has at least been moving in the right direction for President Obama. Snowden may once have tried to position himself as a whistleblower, but he has since devolved into ingratiating himself with authoritarian regimes by plying them with American national security secrets. An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli.
