| Al Gore’s strategy for saving the Earth seems to be to raise enough money to be able to buy it. After selling his failing Current TV company to Al Jazeera, Gore is suddenly a super rich man. Forbes analyst Ryan Mac says, “Taking into account taxes to be paid on the deal, possible earlier debt and the fact that Gore´s representatives declined to comment, Forbes conservatively estimates the former vice president´s net worth to be at least $300 million.”[Snip] Why, it’s bankrolled by the medieval kingdom of Qatar--which, in turn, makes its money out of black gold.

I´m shocked - SHOCKED! - to discover that Al Gore Jr. had stock in Occidental Petroleum. That´s the oil company owned by Armand Hammer - later revealed to have been a Soviet operative all along - who bankrolled the entire career & lifestyle of Al´s father, including the tuition to put Junior through St. Albans School.

Al is old and grossly fat. As a reader I enjoy some books more than others. Obituaries can be like that too.

But, being a good liberal, I just know that old Wooden Head will volunteer to pay most of his gains in extra taxes.

How much anybody wanna bet that Algore pays less taxes than he gives in charitable contributions (nearly none)?
Even after Dear Leader(US)´s tax grab on the rich (why do you think this deal came through before Dec. 31, by the way).
Dirty little secret ... Algore, Blowhard Buffett, and their types have WEALTH, not INCOME. They really don´t care about a 36% vs 39.6% income tax rate ... most of their income is either (1) deferred, (2) capital gains, or (3) tax-free municipal bonds.
They actually like higher income tax rates because it makes the demand for their luxury goods lower (and cheaper). Doesn´t cost as much to hire the pool boy. Not as much crowd, especially those disgusting new rich types, at the club and it´s easier to get prime locations and times at the swanky restaurants.

Hum, can we DEMAND to see HIS TAX RETURNS in a few years to see if he has been as generous and giving as the Romneys?

Like most Leftist icons, Al Gore is incapable of either shame or embarrassment. The only thing that would slow him down is criminality, and as long as the DoJ is in the hands of comrade Holder, he has nothing to fear.

And fatter. And homelier. And yuckier. And dumber. And more obnoxious.
Mitt is not worrying.

The charity said the site had been inundated with traffic after news broke that the victim, believed to be a serving soldier, had been wearing one of its T-shirts. As news of the killing quickly spread on social media, there were calls for people to visit the site to donate, or buy T-shirts or other merchandise as a show of support. The site´s shop quickly crashed and parts were still out of action on Thursday morning. A spokesman said: "Last night with the website, there was clearly a lot of interest." Is the worm turning against Barack Obama? After four-plus years of being given the benefit of the doubt by the bulk of the US media, the President now suddenly feels more vulnerable. Today both the New York Times and the Washington Post have run prominent and angry editorials and columns slamming the administration for its attempt to criminalise a Fox News reporter James Rosen for working a State Department source to obtain a story. The "Rosen Affair"--as it is now known--is poisoning the well in Washington at an alarming rate for Mr Obama, with an indignant White House press corps

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
