Jack Lew´s Budget Ineptitude
Disqualifies Him From Top
Treasury Post

Only in Washington can someone who is singularly identified with failure not only be commended for it, but also actually win promotion to even greater responsibility. America, meet Jack Lew, your next Treasury secretary. (Snip) We find it troubling that Lew has repeatedly told outright falsehoods about U.S. budgets and debt — deceiving both the public and Republican opposition about our fiscal health. As he told CNN in 2011: "Our budget will get us, over the next several years, to the point where we can look the American people in the eye and say we´re not adding to

He will be confirmed. The Senate confirms cabinet appointees.

What Budget?

Reply 6 - Posted by: Davids918, 1/11/2013 9:45:19 AM     (No. 9110505)

First, Bill Clinton never considered a balanced budget when he entered office, or campaigned on one.

Second, the 1994 budget stalemate with Newt, froze spending at previous year´s level.

Third, demographic spike created large increase in Social Security funds which created the "surplus".

Fourth, look up the national debt, and determine if the borrowing stopped during those couple years when we had a "surplus".

Obama appointee??? Hell´s Bells Tim Geithner Secy of the Treasury; was a Tax Cheat, whose excuse was he was unable to understand Turbo Tax?
Jack Lew is just incompetent. Certainly, that is no dis-qualifier from working with Zippy in a Top Regime Job...
All of Crapweasel´s first term appointees were so bad, they just ´deemed´ them, Czars... and failed to even try, to run them before a Congressional Appointment Committee.

Consider this:

´´Bet you didn´t know what´s hidden in The Gun Control Act of 1968.

The Treasury Secretary is vested with the right to ban importation of any firearm he finds "does not have a sporting purpose."

While this authority is "currently" delegated to the BATFE, it doesn´t have to remain delegated. In fact, there is nothing legislative about that delegation to the best of my knowledge, which means it can be revoked by pure fiat.

Jack Lew, the person most-likely to be nominated to replace Geithner, is Obama´s current Chief of Staff. As such it must be presumed that he will do whatever Obama wants, within the limit of his statutory authority.

And that authority includes the ability to ban the import of any gun.´´

There is a ton of Lew history in this relatively short article. Have the drivebys read it?

An example:

Contrary to Obama´s claim this week, Lew didn´t "deliver" three years of budget surpluses in the late 1990s with Clinton.

Those surpluses were written into law by a Republican Congress that refused to spend as much as Clinton wanted.

As for Lew´s experience as an aide to O´Neill in the 1980s, recall that Democrats then agreed to $3 in spending cuts for every $1 in tax hikes under the 1982 budget deal.

But when it came time to cut spending, as agreed, they refused. It was a big lie, and they blamed Reagan for the deficits.

How can we talk intelligently and inform anyone else (the MSM won´t) if we don´t read what is served to us with a spoon hera at LCom?

We´ve seen this situation before. Back when "Big Al" Capone hired Chi-Town´s Jake "Greasy Thumb" Guzik to handle the books, it certainly wasn´t due to Mr. Guzik´s strict adherence to "auditing standards."

Obama and his entire administration are disqualified for their positions. It´s a real problem, and getting worse.

White House Blows the Berlin Speech

President Obama’s speech at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin today was a stage director’s nightmare. The president was sweating profusely – you could see the outlines of his undershirt. There were ghostly reflections off the protective glass in front of him. And instead of heaving throngs of admirers, Obama addressed 6,000 or so invited guests. And something was wrong with TOTUS! Obama was peering down at his script instead of using his trusty teleprompter. We’re not accustomed anymore to seeing our leaders glance toward the lectern to read, so the president came off looking as if he couldn’t remember

MSNBC host and Obama sycophant Chris Matthews blamed the sun for spoiling the president’s speech in Berlin today. “I think a lot of the problem he had today was the late afternoon sun in Berlin ruined his use of the teleprompter and so his usual dramatic windup was ruined,” Matthews said immediately after the speech. “I think he was really struggling with the text there.” Speaking behind a glass bulletproof shield, Obama appeared to be using the text of the speech rather than reading off of teleprompters.

ARDMORE, Pa. — Phil Mickelson is in a familiar position once again at the U.S. Open — to either finally close out a win in a tournament he truly cherishes or to suffer yet another maddening close call. Mickelson, a four-time major champion but the only player to finish runner-up five times in the U.S. Open, shot even-par 70 Saturday in the third round of the U.S. Open at unyielding Merion Golf Club and has a one-shot lead heading into Sunday´s final round.

LOS ANGELES — A farewell note left behind by the Santa Monica gunman expressed remorse for the killing of his father and brother but provided no explanation for the rampage that left them and three others dead. Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks said that the three- to four-page handwritten note was found on John Zawahri´s body (Snip)Zawahri apparently built his own .223-caliber assault rifle, using it to shoot his father and brother before he set fire to their family home, officials said earlier Thursday.

When President Obama makes his first extended trip to sub-Saharan Africa this month, the federal agencies charged with keeping him safe won’t be taking any chances. Hundreds of U.S. Secret Service agents will be dispatched to secure facilities in Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania. A Navy aircraft carrier or amphibious ship, with a fully staffed medical trauma center, will be stationed offshore in case of an emergency. Military cargo planes will airlift in 56 support vehicles, including 14 limousines and three trucks loaded with sheets of bulletproof glass to cover the windows of the hotels

It first begins with a peculiar, bitter smell.(Snip)Get sufficiently exposed, and you may faint or even die. These are the effects of pepper spray, the chemical that was used by the Turkish police against peaceful sit-in protesters who tried to protect one of Istanbul’s few remaining green spaces against a controversial reconstruction plan in Taksim Square on May 28. Undercover police then proceeded to set fire to the tents left behind by escaping protesters — with all their belongings in them — despite the protesters’ pleas. For many people, this was the last drop in the glass, which

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.

The Obamas never miss an opportunity to mingle with the stars and during a two-day trip in Dublin, who better to have lunch with than iconic Irish rocker and philanthropist Bono? First Lady Michelle along with daughters Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11, started Tuesday with an hour-long visit to picturesque Glendalough in the Wicklow Mountains--but the two girls looked like they would have rather slept in at their luxury hotel. Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s
