| I suppose I’m a bad woman — by today’s standards, that is. For some reason, I take absolutely no pride in the accomplishments of women per se. I am utterly uninspired by first women astronauts or secretaries of state. It is of no consequence to me what percentage of the United States Senate or House of Representatives shares my chromosome pattern. I don’t wait with gnawing impatience for America to pass the milestone of needing a fellow to fill the post of first gentleman. This is not to say that I resent or disparage female accomplishment.

When female accomplishments are largely ceremonial like Hillary´s joke of a legacy,I´m not interested either.Nor am I impressed with the last two affirmative action SC judges.
Obama comes out one day and says most of his positions are held by the most qualified (men),then hurriedly throws together a photo op of zillions of women in his inner circle.Maybe the real truth is MO doesn´t want any women around her dumass husband.
Women are also generally more honest than men which disqualifies them from working for Obama.

Oh my goodness...it´s such a delight to read that Mona agrees with me. My dear mother (who has been gone for 37 years) was a staunch believer that she didn´t need a Congress filled with women for her best interests to be represented, nor did she need to think of God as a woman to find spiritual nurture. I, too, am a bad woman, apparently....hooray!

So I´m not a self-loathing woman after all? (Or does this mean I´m not the only one?)

What I see now as women of high accomplishment strike me as more of the same affirmative action that placed a stupid, highly incompetent man in the whitehouse and seriously talks about hillary as potus. There must be more women voters than men because we seem to be picking out leaders the way women used to pick out hats. Very attractive and highly impractical.

Is it statistically true that women vote for Demonrats? If so, the irony is telling because that means that women vote for Demonrats in order to be taken care of, because that is what Demonrats promise their voters.

#7, I use three names (no hyphen, like Mary Todd Lincoln) because I want to honor two of the best men I´ve ever known. I had a heck of a time with that at the Social Security office after I was married. The idiot at the counter kept trying to put in my middle name, while hyphenating my maiden and last names. I kept saying, "No. My maiden name will be my middle name, and my married name my last---no hyphen!" After half an hour, she finally got it right, and even said, "Well, why didn´t you say so?"
I loathe nonsense like getting the House girls together for a group photo/hug with Pelosi, as if the male members of the House don´t matter. I don´t want a "wise Latina" on the Supreme Court, I want the best person for the job. Everyone who yammers about rights seems to do more and more to set groups of people apart.

#7, #10...I used to use three names, as well....no hyphenated names, because my husband dislikes that. However, nobody would use my maiden name, from which my musical heritage comes. So, when I went back to an almost full-time music career many years ago, I dropped my husband´s last name for professional reasons. I´ve met people in the last 15 years who knew my parents 40 years ago, and they would never have recognized my married name.

CBO Analysis Confirms: Gang of Eight Bill is a Disaster

The Congressional Budget Office released its analysis of the Gang of Eight’s immigration proposal today, and spinning is in full swing. The fact is, however, that the basic facts can’t be spun: the bill is a disaster. As with Obamacare, the Gang structured its bill to make it “score” artificially well from a budget perspective. They did this by delaying the newly legalized immigrants’ eligibility for most federal welfare benefits for ten years, which takes those benefits outside of the ten-year window that is scored by the CBO. But that cosmetic shift did little to conceal the plan’s baleful effects.

Another Republican Super PAC is jumping into the increasingly nasty Massachusetts Senate battle, going after Democrat Ed Markey’s biggest weakness — his $1.3 million Maryland home. The America Rising PAC, recently founded by Mitt Romney’s former presidential campaign manager, is planning to deliver a letter today to Maryland’s comptroller urging the state to investigate why Markey has never paid state income taxes there despite living in the upscale Chevy Chase suburb for two decades, the Herald has learned. Markey’s residency status has been dogging him throughout his career, ever since the Herald reported in the early 1990s

Are you ready for the great Sarah Palin Revival of 2013? The former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidate is back from her exile at Fox News and, like the former child star played by Bette Davis in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, the self-described Mama Grizzly is ready for a big comeback. But to be blunt, she seems more like a relic of a bygone, little-missed era in showbiz-cum-politics. Indeed, she no more represents a viable future for the GOP than her 76-year-old “angry bird” running mate, John McCain. To give her full credit,

O n July 14, someone somewhere in India will tap out what is being called the world´s last telegram. India´s state-owned telecom company, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, has been holding out as other countries around the world retire their antiquated telegraph services. Now, after delaying the move for two years, the business operating what is considered to be the world´s last telegraph service is finally ready to pull the plug, saying telegrams are no longer commercially viable in the age of digital communications. India´s telegram service had been upgraded in recent years — clerks now type up messages on computers

Alaska Lt. Gov. Mead Treadwell (R) announced Tuesday that he will officially challenge Sen. Mark Begich (D) in 2014, transitioning from an exploratory committee to a full-fledged campaign. “This intense exploratory effort has convinced me that I have the support necessary to build a winning campaign,” Treadwell said on his Web site. “Today I’m taking the next step by announcing that I will not seek re-election as Alaska’s lieutenant governor and have begun to file documents required as a candidate for the United States Senate in 2014.” Treadwell launched his exploratory effort

Unionized local employees repeatedly harassed and intimidated non-union workers of a private disaster cleanup firm that won a government contract to restore Long Island, New York, in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. The vice president of the union even made threats against the wife and kids of one of the workers. That worker felt it necessary to call the police and pursue other security measures to protect his family, a source told The Daily Caller News Foundation. After Hurricane Sandy devastated the New York and New Jersey shoreline in late October, Looks Great Services (LGS)

The IRS has disabled the computer accounts of Lois Lerner, the director of exempt organizations who’s been put on administrative leave, and Holly Paz, the former director of the Office of Rulings and Agreements, according to an IRS source familiar with the situation. The source says that their accounts were shut down shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, at the request of Glenn Melcher, who identifies himself as a lawyer with the office of the IRS’s chief counsel. That’s the same day that National Review Online reported that, contrary to the IRS’s blanket denial,

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. And Sarah blasted him on Twitter as a bully. Is that, is it, is he a bully? Is he a bad, what is he?

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
