The nation’s leading liberal women’s group, the National Organization for Women, is demanding to know why President Barack Obama has failed to make more high-profile appointments of women to his administration. “President Obama has made a number of high-profile appointments recently — four at last count — and they are all white men,” NOW said in a blast email to supporters Thursday evening, with the subject line, “President Obama, Where are the Women?” The organization noted that while groups like NOW hoped United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice would succeed
Comments: The hope & change still can´t seem to come through for this administration´s supporters... It really is unbelievable that they fooled everyone into reelection --- of course back then Romney was the bad guy with his "binders full of women." Either way it shouldn´t be about gender or race but about the best person for the job.... who to root for in this scenario?!
Not a peep from the NAG gang over all the horrific personal attacks on women in predominantly muslim countries in the last couple of years, but boy howdy let President Fingerman get below the quota amount of women in the WH and the howler monkeys come out in force!
Despite first lady Michelle Obama’s healthy living push, American eating habits deteriorated in the first 10 months of 2013, compared with 2012, according to a recent survey. According to a Gallup survey released over the Thanksgiving holiday, the percentage of adults reporting that they ate healthy all day “yesterday” has been consistently lower all 2013 compared to 2012.
The bungled rollout of President Obama’s signature health care law might have kept the president away from Gettysburg, but it has not kept him off the links or away from the fundraising circuit. Since the launch of the HealthCare.gov on October 1, Obama has gone golfing five times and attended ten fundraisers — with five more scheduled for the beginning of this week — while Obamacare’s favorability has hit all time lows.
Left-leaning Daily Beat columnist Kirsten Powers, who recently revealed how she lost her health coverage under Obamacare, slammed the Obama administration’s efforts to deal with the metastasizing Affordable Care Act Tuesday night. On Tuesday’s “Special Report” on the Fox News Channel, the “All-Star Panel” weighed in on the administration’s responses to the disastrous Obamacare rollout. Washington Post columnist George Will blamed the widening crisis on President Barack Obama’s lack of managerial experience. “Well, everyone is talking about extraordinarily complicated act as though it’s a tinker toy,” Will explained. “If you don’t like this part, just plug in another part.
Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer slammed Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius’s congressional testimony as “pathetic” in an interview set to air on Wednesday’s Hugh Hewitt radio show. The author of “Things That Matter: Three Decades of Passions, Pastimes, and Politics” said Sebelius’ performance before the House Energy and Commerce Committee left much to be desired, even if viewers took into account there wasn’t much she could have said. “To her credit — and it was a pathetic, horrible, mortifying performance. She wasn’t holding a lot of cards,” Krauthammer said.
Washington Post columnist George Will said he wants Obamacare to fail, pointing the impossibility of controlling one-sixth of the economy with central planning after his co-panelist Juan Williams declared Republicans did not want the law to work. Williams accused Will and his other co-panelists on this weekend’s “Fox News Sunday” during the show’s online-only “Panel Plus” segment of “schadenfreude” in voicing their reactions to the failure the HealthCare.gov launch. “[Y]ou know, I just think there is a lot of schadenfreude on the panel this morning,” Williams said. “ And people, ‘Oh yeah, you know, isn’t it terrible —
Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume told Hugh Hewitt Tuesday that the President Barack Obama and other Democrats’ partisan rhetoric is unprecedented. “There’s no doubt about that, and you know, I’ve never seen, actually, partisan attacks, where you simply are attacking the other party outright by name, calling the other party out, is something a little unusual,” Hume said. “I’m accustomed to seeing, I mean, it’s done in one form or another, and it has been for years. But I’ve never seen it done by a president himself to the extent that it’s been done by this president
Conservative talker Mark Levin has a stern warning for President Barack Obama and his administration: Don’t mess with the World War II veterans. Levin, author of “The Liberty Amendments: Restoring the American Republic,” told his audience on his Wednesday radio show should there be any action taken against those veterans for visiting the World War II Memorial on the National Mall, even with the government shutdown, he would bring 500,000 people to march on the Washington, D.C. in response. “I want to tell you folks something — I want to say this loud and clear to the people
Last summer on his $100 million family tour of Africa, Barack Obama hoped for a priceless photo op with Nelson Mandela, the ailing freedom pioneer who went from prison cell to the presidency of South Africa. Mandela´s family suggested that wouldn’t happen. So, the Obamas did a photo op in Mandela´s former prison cell. Which Obama’s White House quickly tweeted upon word of the icon´s passing at 95. [Skip] But Obama was also caught staring at television coverage of Mandela’s passing, which became Obama’s Photo of the Day.
Hardly a week goes by without Hillary Clinton receiving another award. Last month she was named a “Global Champion” by the International Medical Corps, received the American Patriot Award at the National Defense University Foundation and the Hermandad Award from the Mexican American Leadership Initiative. [Snip] At this rate, if a bunch of elderly left-wing Swedes toss her the Nobel Peace Prize early on, the way they did to Obama, it will barely rate mention among all the other glittering trophies that have been bestowed on a woman whose only actual accomplishment was being married to a crooked governor with
Speaker John Boehner said his party should support gay Republican congressional candidates and urged his colleagues to “be a little more sensitive” when running against women. “Some of our members just aren’t as sensitive as they ought to be,” Boehner said. When asked if he thinks his party should support gay candidates, Boehner simply said: “I do.”
Denver - A baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex ceremony must serve gay couples despite his religious beliefs or face fines, a judge said Friday. The order from administrative law judge Robert N. Spencer said Masterpiece Cakeshop in suburban Denver discriminated against a couple "because of their sexual orientation by refusing to sell them a wedding cake for their same-sex marriage." The order says the cake-maker must "cease and desist from discriminating" against gay couples. Although the judge did not impose fines in this case, the business will face penalties if it continues to turn away gay
In February, the Bush family’s personal emails were hacked by Guccifer, a hacker who uncovered photographs of former President George H. W. Bush in a hospital bed and George W. Bush’s oil paintings in the process. It seems Guccifer has struck again, this time targeting former President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Library. The hacker has reportedly uncovered doodles of Clinton drawing on what were, at the time, classified documents. Among the doodles is apparently a picture of a penis. The document uncovered is a briefing of the strategic measures the United States could take prior Clinton’s decision to intervene in
Amid an array of “knock-out” attacks against a number of Jews in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood, a city councilwoman pointed to the success of the Jewish community as triggering the aggression. Councilwoman-elect Laurie Cumbo emphasized that while she “admire[s] the Jewish community immensely” for its work ethic, black teens may see it differently. “While I personally regard this level of tenacity, I also recognize that for others, the accomplishments of the Jewish community triggers feelings of resentment, and a sense that Jewish success is not also their success,” Cumbo, who was recently elected, wrote in a letter. Chief among the issues
On Tuesday, The Boston Globe reported that Onyango “Omar” Obama, uncle to President Obama, says that his famous nephew stayed with him while a student at Harvard Law School in the 80s, in contradiction to The White House’s contention that the two had never met. At Thursday’s White House daily briefing, Press Secretary Jay Carney confirmed that the President had, in fact, briefly stayed with “his father’s half-brother,” as Carney described Omar Obama, and that no one had actually asked the President about it when the White House initially commented. The 69 year-old Omar Obama has been facing deportation back
