Eric Holder: Gun Owners Should

The hot new video at MRCTV.org is 1995 footage of Attorney General Eric Holder, when he was the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. In his remarks before the Woman´s National Democratic Club, broadcast by CSPAN 2, Holder said people should be ashamed to own guns, just the way that cigarette smokes now "cower outside of buildings" to smoke. "What we need to do is change the way in which people think about guns, especially young people, and make it something that´s not cool, that it´s not acceptable, it´s not hip

Eric, this is the very reason we have the 2nd amendment to protect us from idiots like you in government.
But of course Fast and Furious was bush´s fault right

Does anyone else remember how hard some Republicans fought to keep Holder out of the Attorney General´s office when Clinton appointed him Deputy?

I am proud to be a grandmother and a gun owner.

And when I was a smoker, I did not cower in shame for doing something legal.

Has the world gone totally mad?

It is Eric Holder who should be ashamed.

So it´s ok to make up an "alternate reality" to make young people think the founding father´s vision for keeping liberty--i.e. having guns to thwart tyranny, BUT it not OK to simply lay out the facts about "his people".

Do folks remember the non-stop drumbeat against Alberto Gonzalez, Bush´s AG? I don´t even remember what it was for but everyday there was something about how he should resign. At the time I remember saying to myself, "this is what they want this guy to resign over" and now I don´t even remember what it was about.
This is precisely the durmbeat that should begin within the Conservative R´s regarding Holder: Holder must go!!! He is a menace to the office of AG, to the country and to the Constitution of the U.S.! What has happened to fast & furious? Nothing, all gone, done and Holder continues on his raping of the US Constitution and the American people´s long held beliefs! STOP Holder now! STOP Holder now! STOP Holder now! should become the new montra for the RNC, the NRA and all those so interested in preserving the integrity of our constitution. STOP Holder now! Holder must go! STOP Holder now! Holder must go! STOP Holder now! Holder must go! Come on everyone together...

"What we need to do is change the way in which people think about guns, especially young people, and make it something that´s not cool, that it´s not acceptable, it´s not hip to carry a gun anymore" (Eric Holder, 1995)

Sorry, Mr. Holder, but when I was a young man, nobody thought it was ´cool´ or ´hip´ to carry a gun. None of my friends and nobody I knew carried a gun -- it was illegal; it was very illegal.

So just who are these ´young people´ who think it´s ´cool´ or ´hip´ to carry a gun? Maybe you ought to focus your attention on them.

By the way, how´s that gun control thingy working out for you in Chicago...?

"Gun Owners Should ´Cower´ in Shame Like Smokers"

Why?

The right to keep and bear arms is, and always has been, the mark of a free person.

The act of bearing arms is the assertion of that right for all to see.

To lay down the arms in any situation is an act of submission.

To surrender the arms is to surrender the last vestige of one´s belief in freedom.

In terms of youth in the inner cities, Holder has a point. Yes, we would all be better off if kids in the slums didn´t look up to guys with guns (who are using them for criminal activity).

The problem is: how do you differentiate this type of gun ownership from those who own a gun for hunting, recreation, or self-defense?

Gun rights advocates certainly don´t want to hold up the 18 year old who just robbed a liquor store in the ghetto as an example of proud gun ownership.

Could it be that the gun thing will finally put a stop to our government relieving us of our rights? I would hope so but I´m not so sure. We´ve let them bully us over smoking, seat belts, helmets, the list goes on, for so many years now that we´ve become used to caving.

As a teacher in a public high school with a 78 percent hispanic "student" body, it is my experience, generally speaking, that the kids who think "guns are cool" are victims´ class prototype obama supporters, who have a sense of entitlement, who come from families connected to the social services lifeline. What´s more these young people come from families who don´t place a high value on education and specialize in a soaring teenaged pregnancy rate. The final insult is that they operate somewhere between no loyalty to USA and resentment of USA. In this group, independent thinkers are very rare. The norm is a brainwashed dependable democrat voter for life who wants to tax the rich.

What does Holder know about shame?
He, who has advance well beyond his intelligence or capabiities bcause of AA
He, who implemented Bill Clinton´s pardons for $$ program, and obtaind pardons for Mark Rich, FARC, and others.
He, who failedto honor his oat of office in upholding the Constitution by dropping charges againt the NewBlack Panher thugs.
He, who ran the Fast and Furious gunrunning operation, and lied under direct Congrssional testimony, and used Executive Privelege as a cover-up.
He, who maaged the Justic Dept´s program to use the Voting Rights Law to subvert voting districts and encouraged illegal and fraudulen voters.
He, who picks and chooses whic laws he will support and defend, and chooses not to defend DOMA, immigration laws, election laws.
He, who has become a muli-millionaire while in public service.
The true shame is tht such an incompetent, deceitful, duplicitous, corrupt empty suit can occupy the ofice of Attorney General.

Every time I light a cigarette I am blowing freedom in the face of the social engineers and communists. Every time I holster my revolver and go out I am doing the same.
My only shame is at those who have let this formerly free country become what it is today.
Maybe that is about to change. More and more people are tired of caving. The drums are beating louder and louder.
Meanwhile, if you watch the comment sections on various web sites the useful idiots are still snickering. I guess they never heard of Pandora´s Box.

And, of course, he will happy that it is that way????

Nope, didn´t think so...

The controversy over the Obama administration’s response to the Benghazi attack last year began at a meeting over coffee on Capitol Hill three days after the assault. It was at this informal session with the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence that the ranking Democrat asked David H. Petraeus, who was CIA director at the time, to ensure that committee members did not inadvertently disclose classified information when talking to the news media about the attack. “We had some new members on the committee, and we knew the press would be very aggressive on this, so we didn’t want

It is never good for an administration when a front-page newspaper article about an ongoing controversy begins as follows: “The White House offered a new account Monday of how and when it learned .?.?. ” That’s what readers of The Post awoke to on Tuesday. In trying to contain the controversy and protect President Obama, White House officials have only added to questions about what happened. Until this week, the story of how White House officials learned that the Internal Revenue Service was targeting conservative groups was fairly straightforward. There are various reasons you might not care about the Obama administration’s spying on journalist James Rosen and labeling him a “co-conspirator and/or aider and abettor” in an espionage case. Liberals may not be particularly bothered because the targeted journalist works for Fox News. Conservatives may not be concerned because of their antipathy toward the news media generally. And the general public certainly doesn’t have much patience for journalists’ whining. But here’s why you should care — and why this case, along with the administration’s broad snooping into Associated Press phone records, is more serious than the other supposed

There seems to be bipartisan consensus that whatever the White House is doing to fend off scandal is making things worse. Howard Fineman sounds a lot like Right Turn these days: “White House aides are tempting fate with their reluctant, piecemeal and contradictory disclosures of what they knew and when they knew it, especially about a report on the Internal Revenue Service’s 18-month effort to target tea party and other conservative groups for special scrutiny.” The constantly shifting stories from Jay Carney and the IRS dissembling and pleas of ignorance only heighten concern that there has been serious wrongdoing.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

John Podhoretz has a good column today on the Obama administration’s travails. I did not know this bit until I read the column: Even more startling, the search warrant makes clear that the FBI already had everything it needed on the leaker, as the request for a search warrant features quotes from an interview that were tantamount to a confession. It asked that the warrant be sealed — in other words, that Rosen not be told — because knowledge might “cause subjects to flee”! Imagine it: Rosen, an on-air reporter

There’s really no reason for the press to suggest that the recent slew of scandals involving the Obama administration — Benghazi, the AP phone-record seizure, the snooping in James Rosen’s e-mail, the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups, and so on — are a confusing jumble. There is a very clear thread running through all of the administration’s actions: The U.S. deputy chief of mission in Libya, Gregory Hicks, says that he was told not to speak to a member of Congress about Benghazi without a State Department lawyer present, that he received a phone call from Hillary Clinton’s

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.

We need a full and complete investigation and then we will decide the dimensions of it,” said McCain while campaigning for Republican Senate candidate Gabriel Gomez in Dorchester. “It is terrible but we have to have a full investigation before we leap to conclusions.” The maverick’s caution is a sharp contrast to the response of many Republicans
