| SPRING CITY, Utah — Officials in a small Utah town want to make sure every head of household has a firearm and knows how to use it, and they want to give school teachers training with guns too. Spring City Councilman Neil Sorensen first proposed an ordinance requiring a gun in every household in the town of 1,000. The rest of the council scoffed at making it a requirement, but they unanimously agreed to move forward with an ordinance "recommending" the idea. With all of the pervs and emotionally unstable people in the school system today, I am very uncomfortable with arming teachers. Utah, due to the conservative makeup of the citizens, may be the only state in the union without that problem.

Study up on Kennesaw, Georgia.
This law went in effect about 10 yrs ago. Crime has been down, even though we are a bedroom community of Atlanta, GA.
Plus, this area is part of the top 10 growth areas in the US.
Population up, crime down.
PS- our freeways suck.

One out of every 20 people in Utah have a permit to carry a concealed gun.
That makes interactions in Utah very polite.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
