Obama supporters shocked,
angry at new tax increases

Washington Times, by Joseph Curl

Sometimes, watching a Democrat learn something is wonderful, like seeing the family dog finally sit and stay at your command. With President Obama back in office and his life-saving “fiscal cliff” bill jammed through Congress, the new year has brought a surprising turn of events for his sycophantic supporters. “What happened that my Social Security withholding’s in my paycheck just went up?” a poster wrote on the liberal site DemocraticUnderground.com. “My paycheck just went down by an amount that I don’t feel comfortable with. I guarantee this decrease is gonna’ hurt me more than the increase

Comments:
And when will they realize that their remaining dollars will buy less, and less, and less each passing month?

I doubt this is true. If these Obama supporters are anything like my brain-addled sister, they´ll just blame any republican for the bad consequences of anything Obama has done.

Reality will educate them, but they will never admit that they are willfully ignorant morons. Perhaps the slightly less dim will actually question the backwards propaganda TV pounds into their thick skulls. It´s not like this isn´t constantly repeated, from LBJ to Carter to BO.

Best response to this I´ve seen yet: "Before November 6, 2012, you were a useful idiot. Now you´re just an idiot."

Sweet. These lib Democrat chumps got played. Very quickly they will be cursing the day the voted for Obama. In the near future people will spit after saying his name.

What is so funny is the Kneepad Media sycophants wanted to end this tax holiday during the last debt limit negotiations. Now that it has happened, not a word from them about how we need everyone to pay for Socialist Security. I fully expect my taxes, my grocery bill, my gas and fuel bills and all other bills to go up. I fully expect the cost of Obambi and the Dems on everything in my life to go up. The only thing that is mildly interesting is the DA Dems that didn´t realize that their world was about to get a lot more expensive.

Reply 14 - Posted by: Bobn.T, 1/6/2013 11:29:30 PM     (No. 9102380)

Reply 16 - Posted by: SouthSanAntonio, 1/6/2013 11:31:52 PM     (No. 9102385)

All the Demon-RATS and NØbama have to say is that it´s the mean old Republicans´ fault, because they wouldn´t raise taxes even more on those evil rich people.

The MSM will fully support what they say.

And, of course, ultimately it just has to be Bush´s fault -- it just HAS to be!!!

And NØbama will smile at them, and show them Moo-chelle´s pretty new spring dress that she might wear to church if they ever go back (not that there is any reason to do that stupid thing again unless Moo-chelle is preparing to run herself), or that she will wear on her next government funded vacation, and all their braindead voters will quicly forget their misery.

We don´t have to wait for the zombie appocolypse, it´s already here. They voted to re-elect NØbama and destroy our nation. Now they just have to start eating brains and the transformation will be complete...

I hope everyone who voted for this America- hater loses their job.

They should all take a nighttime walking tour of the south side of Chicago and meet some of Zero´s friends.

Imagine what would have happened had we gone over the "cliff". That is why some of us reluctantly supported that "least bad" option. Not to worry, however. NerØbama´s supporters are already whining that the just agreed "revenue increases" are not enough, and they want more - just as predicted.

Stay tuned ..

Democrats should be taxed at 110% of income. They can borrow the difference, just like the want the government to do.

Reply 20 - Posted by: Davids918, 1/7/2013 12:16:43 AM     (No. 9102401)

LMAO. What they´re so stupid they didn´t know that was a temporary decrease in the Social Security witholding?

Low-information voters and Democrats.

You see, GOP?

Blame the Democrats for higher taxes, the deficits, and all else since it was they who did this in 2009.

Reply 23 - Posted by: 4Justice, 1/7/2013 1:28:28 AM     (No. 9102455)

The crazy thing is this is just the tiny bit (2%) that they temporarily stopped taking for Social Security. Depending on income, it is about $20 - $45 for the average person per paycheck. If they think is amount is unacceptable, what will they think about all the other taxes and costs that are coming down the road that are much higher!?!?!?!

Reply 24 - Posted by: steveW, 1/7/2013 1:48:46 AM     (No. 9102467)

When they voted for Obama, they Hoped the negative Change he´d inflict upon the nation would somehow only hurt Republicans. Or that the new normal of lower living standards, a crumbling economy, and curtailed freedoms would somehow be "eco-friendly" - in a warm, fuzzy way - for themselves. However, Democrats are not just naive - they are really, really stupid.

I wonder how these people got paid on the new year this quick.I also heard that payroll processors aren´t ready to impose the new rates yet.I´m kind of suspicious of this story even though it´s the WT.

I´ve been wondering why the glory hound Obama didn´t have a signing ceremony on this.Maybe he wants people to think it just happened and he had nothing to do with it.

The only real way to beat Obama is have the left turn on him.Hopefully this is just the beginning.

Reply 29 - Posted by: 4Justice, 1/7/2013 3:41:54 AM     (No. 9102513)

No, the 2% tax reinstatement took place already. Payroll should be on top of it. My check was already $44 less. Accounting folks were notified early enough. It is all the other tax increases and such that haven´t hit yet.

That these low information dregs had no clue about what was coming is a given. If they look a little closer (which is highly improbable) they will find that the unchanged ´unemployment´ rate is hiding a sharp increase among single women and blacks. Schadenfreude anyone??

3. Reread #16;
4. Repeat;
5. Prepare for Dem and media (same thing) whining about Republicans.
6. And ´´rich´´. (Obviously the evil rich are just taking more to keep more for themselves so they won´t have to pay their extra FAIR SHAAAAAARE.....)

Speaking of the South Side, do you think The Won will ever reside there again? I´m sure he was holding his nose the whole time he had to "live" there.

The Obama supporters who pay $0 in taxes (let´s see, is that about 48% of "taxpayers" who file?) won´t even know the difference. The only way they´ll feel The Won´s economic maelstrom is if their benefits are cut. I think the playing field should be leveled, too: if our taxes go up and we net less, so should those living on entitlements.

I just retired, so I won´t have to face the decreased paycheck. That´s not to say I didn´t see this coming.

Back when I was working, however, I worked in a store chock-full of obamabots. It would drive me crazy to have to listen to them during the day.

As to the term "low information voter": the first person I heard using it was Herman Cain.

What is this "low information" baloney other than the demonRAT way to obfuscated how to say, "STUPID." They aren´t, weren´t, won´t be low information voters, they´re lazy, shiftless, greedy RAT voters who want money for everything and for having to do absolutely nothing. And they elected the biggest liar this world has ever seen because he´s their leader in chief. I am exhausted with the new "verbage," low information, and demand that we get it straight: low information is a term that doesn´t exist or mean anything. The word is stupid and its growing.

Low Information is the result. Causes are many. Low Intelligence, Mediocre education, Poor life style choices, Cultural background and as some have pointed out Plain stupidity. We live in a knowledge based society which requires individuals to acquire a minimum ability to seek, extract and assimilate useful information. Lack of this ability by whatever reason leads to voting Democrat. There is nothing wrong with that argument.

Elections have consequences.
Romney/Ryan were the two men who could have helped our economy recover.
Americans were too foolhardy to vote for them. We seem to get the government we deserve, God help us all.

Reply 49 - Posted by: Tianne, 1/7/2013 9:15:33 AM     (No. 9102860)

I don’t agree that Obama voters are shocked - they won´t really blame President Obama or the Democrats for their dwindling paychecks or lifestyles. Most of them think as a relative does (who said yesterday), "Well, paychecks are going to have less money in them because those Republicans just wouldn’t work with President Obama – he was trying to save us. Republicans only want to save the rich and now the middleman (?!) is going to have to pay. President Bush started all of this and now Republicans are trying to blame President Obama. I really admire him. Everything was such a mess when he took over but he’s been working really hard to try to fix things." She will never, ever change her mind and, in my opinion, the other Obama voters won’t either.

Reply 50 - Posted by: MattMusson, 1/7/2013 9:28:03 AM     (No. 9102884)

I work with and around many low-information voters in my part-time job. They still have no idea why their paychecks went up.

Yesterday, I heard one say - "It´s because of the whole Fiscal Cliff thing."

Another replied - "Yes, but it will only last two weeks before our checks go back to normal."

One of the boys came up with a good one last weekend:
-You know how Chris Rock ebonifies when he channels Buckwheat? he takes the ´B´ sound and makes it a ´V´ sound, as in
´Ah´m goin´ down to the barbecue joint and git me some rivs´
Well, now there is a new term for ´Liberals´ or ´Libs´:
´LIVs´ -but it is one of those double entendre deals so loved by the yachting set: ´LIV´ also stands for ´Low Information Voter´.
Keep whinging, Livs. You brought it upon yourselves. Music to an American´s ears.

I also think that if we had any kind of GOP, we´d see a concerted effort to do some PR - why not air some ads that say: Hey, your taxes went up and it is Barry´s fault! But no, we have a party that stumbles along and expects conservatives to support everything they do while trashing conservatives and conservative principles every chance they get.

Just wait. The explanation that will be forthcoming is "the increase in payroll taxes was just a rollback of the temporary reduction. And the increase of revenue is need to keep social security solvent."

So, they Dims will use any form necessary to sooth their low information voters. As stated before, you can´t fix stupid.

And #41, as if Jan.1,1985, all federal employees hired on and after that day DO pay social security taxes. This was a re-do of the retirement system. Today´s system is known as FERS (Federal Employees Retirement System). The old system, that did NOT pay social security was known as CSRS (Civil Service Retirement System)

It isn´t so much the money the DC commies want, it´s to crush the middle class. Do a search on Lenin quotes and ask yourself what book must sits on Obama´s, Reid´s, Pelosi´s desk? The Naked Communist perhaps?

#42 & #60. The "Bless your heart" is exactly what I thought when I heard the Low Information Voter phrase (LIV, good one). It just softens the blow at bit and the recipient is too stupid to know they have been zinged.

The dems are famous for their sound bites. It is time to revive a sound bite from the Clinton era: Tax and Spend Democrats. Any Republican appearing on TV should slip the phrase in even if the discussion is gun control. Use it over, and over, and over again.

I still have my Romney/Ryan bumper sticker on my car. Someone needs to make one to go on the left side of it that says: "Aren´t you sorry you didn´t vote for -".

It´s like all the white people applauding and cheering when Tarantino´s black movie star bragged that the best part about his film role was that he got to kill all the white people. They think the guy was kidding? Same with these Øbama idiots suddenly shocked that their God-man is now shafting them- They just didn´t take seriously what the creep was telling them, straight up, simple. Just like Hitler clearly telling the Germans what he planned to do to them before they voted for him to be Chancellor. "Well, he is probably exaggerating!" they excused. Tyrants must think voters are the absolute dumbest creatures on the planet.

I think the first sentence of this article is wishful thinking. I wish all the idiots who voted for him would feel an acute sense of regret at their stupidity, but I wonder if they will ever get that insight. This man is destroying our country, and so many people genuinely don´t seem to realize it or care. I can´t stand it.

Can´t wait for them to file their taxes on their $10,000 yearly income and expect to get the $4600 EIC check. I heard on the local news the other day that the Gov´t is warning tax refunds, espically EIC filers, may be delayed this year. Let the pain begin.

It has only just begun. When the full brunt of Obamacare kicks in, these people will feel like they got hit by a truck.

"I am SHOCKED! SHOCKED! that anyone expects me to pay for this... you will accept my EBT card?"

Don´t worry.
In the casinos and strip clubs of life,
such as the Obamacare office,
these libtards will devise a way to pay...
with their welfare cards.

It´s all a free game to them.
The Obamaphone Lady will be making an announcement soon... on how to "pay."
Without paying.

Not one posted remedy has been suggested.
Most tax payers have gotten conned into thinking a tax refund is a gift or failed to note their money was used interest free all year then doled back when forced to do so.
While working we framed withholding as minimum as possible and kept the amount we had to pay when filing at 499 dollars -- just under the limit allowed. That amount divided by 12 was banked for interest which we kept instead.
Now retired we chose to have no taxes withheld on retirement funds. We still pay our taxes in full when filing.
Yes Earned income is an unearned gift that I don´t begrudge the real families in poverty because at least the government isn´t giving that amount to our enemies like hamas and other foreign grabbers.

I hope it hurts you liberal, left leaning imbeciles. You voted for the guy, now live with it. You wanted tax increases for only the "rich" without government spending cuts. Now you´ve got what you wanted. You made the fatal error of believing that Obama and the Dems were only targeting the "rich" to increase their taxes. Share the pain with the rest of us that actually contribute to society. How´s that Hope and Change working out for you pinheads?

Oh come on, I thought Liberals were silly, but I see some silliness here. Every time a Liberal Democrat tries to blame the Republicans all we have to do is quote the one paragraph from this article.

"In 2009, Mr. Obama enacted a “holiday” on the payroll tax deduction from employees’ paychecks, dropping the rate from 6.2 percent to 4.2 percent. But like the holidays, the drop ended December 31st, and like New Year‘s, the revelers woke up the next morning with a massive hangover and a pounding head."

I added the date just to clarify it for the Low IQ´d Democrats.

Remind them had the Republicans won the Senate many of the Tax increases would have been stopped, especially those still to come in Obamacare (that Liberals don´t know about yet). They were blinded (and gullible) to believe that it was only to "Tax the Rich". Will they now admit they were gullible? Of course not. Only Intelligent people recognize when they have been snookered.

A Bronx teacher fired after a student complained about her use of a racial slur says the whole thing is just a ridiculous case of meaning lost -- literally -- in translation. Petrona Smith, 65, was a non-tenured teacher at the bilingual school PS 211 until March 2012, when she was fired after a student complained of being called "negro" and "a failure." But Smith, who is black and a native of the West Indies, said the student misunderstood her meaning: she was using the word "negro," the word for the color black in Spanish

The murder of a soldier in south London on Wednesday has prompted fears of a backlash against British Muslims after the English Defence League staged an impromptu rally in the capital and two mosques were attacked. The BNP leader, Nick Griffin, has also reacted to the killing with provocative tweets calling for a protest in Woolwich and claiming the crime is the result of "mass immigration". Farooq Murad of the Muslim Council of Britain said the EDL´s rally in London on Wednesday night was cause for concern. "When attacks like these happen there´s always the danger of far-right extremism

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. - The Interstate 5 bridge collapse into the Skagit River was caused by an oversize truck hitting the span, the Washington State Patrol chief said. "For reasons unknown at this point in time the semi struck the overhead of the bridge causing the collapse," Batiste told an overnight news conference. The truck made it off the bridge and the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Two other vehicles went into the water Thursday evening as the structure crumbled. Three people were rescued and are recovering. Drivers should expect delays

WASHINGTON — When President Barack Obama pushed his health care overhaul plan through Congress, he counted labor unions among his strongest supporters. But some unions leaders have grown frustrated and angry about what they say are unexpected consequences of the new law — problems that they say could jeopardize the health benefits offered to millions of their members. The issue could create a political headache next year for Democrats facing re-election if disgruntled union members believe the Obama administration and Congress aren´t working to fix the problem.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Federal forecasters are predicting yet another busy hurricane season. Thursday´s outlook calls for 13 to 20 named storms, seven to 11 that strengthen into hurricanes and three to six that become major hurricanes. The prediction by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is more than what is considered an average Atlantic season. Last year was the third-busiest on record with 19 named storms. Ten became hurricanes and two were major storms, with winds over 111 mph. That included Sandy, which caused $50 billion in damage even though it lost

Islamist militants have staged twin suicide car bombings on an army base and a French-run uranium mine in Niger, killing at least 20 people in retaliation for the country´s military involvement in neighbouring Mali. Niger´s Defence Minister Mahamadou Karidjo said the last Islamist was neutralised at the army base and denied early reports that a suicide attacker had held young army recruits hostage. The attacks come just four months after al-Qa´ida linked militants seized a desert gas plant in neighbouring Algeria in a siege that left 38 hostages dead, also in retaliation against the intervention in Mali.

WASHINGTON — Yemen welcomed President Barack Obama´s decision Thursday to lift a moratorium on transferring prisoners from Guantanamo Bay to the Gulf country. Obama announced the decision in a major speech outlining a new bid to close the "war on terror" prison, saying history will "cast a harsh judgment" on the offshore detention program and those who failed to end it. He said he would lift a moratorium in place on transfers of Yemeni detainees to their homeland, name a new envoy to handle the transfers, and ordered the Pentagon to designate a site in the United States

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose
