| House Speaker John Boehner twice told Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to ´go f**k´ himself last Friday after a meeting at the White House on a budget compromise to avert the fiscal cliff. Standing in the White House lobby not far from the Oval Office, Boehner pointed his finger at Reid and sneered, ´Go f**k yourself,´ Politico reported, citing multiple sources present. Reid replied: ´What are you talking about?´ Boehner repeated: ´Go f**k yourself.´ The shrewd exchange from last Friday reveals how the grueling fight over the debt ceiling, spending cuts and tax increases pervaded politics

Wow. If this is true, I may have to take back all the bad things I´ve said/thought about Boehner. Appropriate, since that is what Nobama/Reid/Stretch Pelosi have said to any Republicans/Conservatives [not the same] since 2008.

Obama Saul Alinsky Obama our Community Organizer (rebel rouser) does it again. I am sorry that Boehner was too weak,as are most Republicans to stand up and do what is right for the country. RR, HWB gave in on taxes and spending, then GWB did the same.
They claim to be Conservative but in the end all they do is CAVE!

This is the only thing that Boehner has done right recently but of course the left will demagogue it saying all republicans are uncivilized and need to be booted from government.
Cheney told leaky Leahey the same thing a few years ago,so what´s the big deal he also said Adam Clymer was a major league AH (big time).

But, now that he buckled and crawled to his masters, he can get the invites to the Washington Cocktail Circuit, right ?

You first, John. Boehner is an enabler of one half of the Democrats´ tax and spend road to ruin. So they just keep on spending. The real choice is not complex: We can cut spending or go bankrupt. Since no one in Washington is capable of cutting spending of their own volition, the Republicans have decided to help Obama loot the more productive members of our economy and then go bankrupt. Super.
If nothing had been done, spending would have been cut--anonymously and irresponsibly, but cut nonetheless. Tax rates would have gone up precipitously, and painfully, on most Americans, thereby setting the stage for Republicans to run on tax relief in 2014 and tax reform in 2016. Instead, we are going to stop spending the old-fashioned way: by running out of people dumb enough to lend us money. We literally would have been better off if John and Mitch and their GOP cloak room buddies had done nothing. They are worse than useless.

While obama-the-terrible jets BACK to Hawaii at OUR expense, costing US about $7+ million for his "excellent adventure", by all means, let´s just keep savaging John Boehner and the rest of the Republicans. What this tells me is that Boehner is not the wuss he´s painted to be. As for "caving", I believe that this isn´t the hill Boehner wanted to die on, for pragmatism´s sake, but is going to toughen up on the rest of this Administration´s attempts to marginalize or even destroy the Republican brand. Boehner needed to create the impression that the GOP is not to blame for the massive tax hikes that would have kicked in at midnight. He and the GOP need breathing room for the more important challenges ahead and this is it.
Now is the time for Tea Party caucus members to toughen up when the debt ceiling rolls around. If the GOP hopes to survive as a Party, at least now they have time to regroup and make peace with Tea Party people.
As for what we should be doing as a Party right now, if GOP congressmen are not at this moment furiously writing entitlement cut suggestions, complete with stats, to throw back in Obama´s face next time he pulls this sh**, we deserve to go belly up.

No curiosity at all from our "truth seeking journalists" about the reason for Boehner´s comment. It was enough for them to report the comment along with their speculative generalities.
Boehner should have told him (and us), in front of those ´multiple sources´, exactly why he was making that comment, although Reid knew the answer.

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has delivered some harsh criticisms to President Barack Obama over recent controversies surrounding his administration in a speech. [Snip] CNN says Jindal addressed the IRS’ extra scrutiny of conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status, saying those involved in the targeting should ´go to jail´. ´Anyone who participated in this targeting of Americans for their political beliefs, anyone who knew about it, anyone who simply looked the other way, and anyone under whose watch this occurred needs to be fired,´ Jindal said, noting that ordinary citizens who fail to pay taxes could face jail time.

Some 10,000 years ago, somewhere in the Middle East’s fertile crescent, happenstance sowed the seeds of much of modern agriculture. Pollen from a wild goat grass landed on primitive wheat, creating a natural--but stronger and more productive--hybrid. [Snip] Now scientists at Britain’s National Institute of Agricultural Botany (NIAB) have deliberately duplicated that ancient accident, with a different goat grass, in an attempt to restart--and enormously accelerate--the process with new genes. Early indications are that this could increase wheat yields by a dramatic 30 percent. The National Farmers’ Union president, Peter Kendall, describes the potential as “just enormous”.

Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

The Internal Revenue Service´s watchdog told top Treasury officials around June 2012 he was investigating allegations the tax agency had targeted conservative groups, for the first time indicating that Obama administration officials were aware of the explosive matter in the midst of the president´s re-election campaign. The disclosure to the Treasury general counsel and the deputy secretary was a cursory one, according to J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration. He said he didn´t reveal conclusions of the probe, which was in its early stages, and his disclosure came as part

The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.

A healthcare provider has sued the Internal Revenue Service and 15 of its agents, charging they wrongfully seized 60 million medical records from 10 million Americans. The name of the provider is not yet known, United Press International said. But Courthouse News Service said the suit claims the agency violated the Fourth Amendment in 2011, when agents executed a search warrant for financial data on one employee – and that led to the seizure of information on 10 million, including state judges. The search warrant did not specify that the IRS could take medical information, UPI said.
