Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton was hospitalized in New York on Sunday after doctors monitoring her recovery from a concussion discovered a blood clot, according to a statement from her office. The statement said that “in the course of a follow-up exam, Secretary Clinton’s doctors discovered a blood clot had formed, stemming from the concussion she sustained several weeks ago. She is being treated with anti-coagulants and is at New York-Presbyterian Hospital so that they can monitor the medication over the next 48 hours.
It sounds fishy to me too. How many doctors give patients an appointment on Sunday? Either she went in on an emergency or she is faking it. As long as they continue to keep the truth from the Press, they will make stuff up. PS: Heard she was at a party this weekend.
An entirely new defense for the "I can´t recall" response to interrogative questions posed. Even in her weakened position, it is a brilliant tactic. When God asks, she will have a perfect recollection. Won´t we all?
I wondered what the next ecuse would be when GOP senators wouldn´t hold hearings on Kerry until PIAPS gave a full account of Benghazi.I didn´t think they would come up with something this dramatic, even co-opting doctors at a hospital. They´re saying the clot was discovered in a follow up exam which is a surprise to me,since she never went to a hospital to begin with.
I did see a supermarket tab say the other day that she had a brain cancer scare, for whatever that´s worth.
What public figure of her stature moves around surreptitiously from home to hospital and back presumably with family coming and going to visit, all without any hospital or doctor statements or media video whatsoever. The corrupt news media´s coverage of this high government official´s medical treatment for weeks(!) isn´t even worthy of a banana republic.
Again, me thinks the bandages needed to stay on a bit longer.
i dont beleve it....i dont believe anything the clintons say.......she doesnt want to testify....how hard is it to get a dr to say she is too stressed.......obama offers a HC deal and it is done.....i just dont believe anything anyone connected with this regime says....
You don´t anticoagulate for "blood clots" to the head. That might only make things worse. You do anticoagulate for blood clots to the legs (DVT) or lungs (PE), but I´m not sure why these would have occurred due to a gastroenteritis or a fall.
More questions need to be asked, but of course, they won´t.
Could you imagine a suspense novel any better than this? Between the clown in the whitehouse that the liberal comics won´t touch, and this spy intrigue that the liberal authors won´t touch, what a waste of good material.
This may be the first time I have ever felt sorry for Hillary. She is easily accessible in a public place where anyone in scrubs could put something in her IV. The CIA is terrified of what she might reveal about their meddling in foreign wars if she ever stands up and walks out of there. Wouldn´t want to be her!

I expect this blood clot to travel to her brain, encounter the worms there, and stroke her out. She´ll recover, but she´ll be paralyzed from her vocal cords down ... temporarily, of course, until she´s safely off the hot seat.
Anyone notice how John Kerry so quickly agreed that his confirmation hearings should wait until after Hill has testified? Doesn´t anyone find that odd? He knows she won´t testify. He´ll get itchy to get into the job, and start pushing to excuse her from testifying completely. ´Have a heart! Some respect! Poor Mz. Clinton is ILL! Geez, you Republicans are mean!´
And what Wepubbican will refuse him? He´ll be on the job in no time.
Those rascally demorats are clever. They plant seeds of doubt and play with your emotions....
Look -- IF -- and I say IF -- she is ill -- she´s not gonna be an "indestructible" candidate for 2016.....
So -- if this is a campaign calculation -- it´s stupid. IF it´s an attempt to cover/up her role in Bengahzi -- shame on her. She still will stand before GOD and try and defend her role in the deaths.....There is no "affirmative action" in heaven....
The press is already doing the CYA for her. A "follow up" visit with her doctor?? There is no evidence she saw a doctor after her fall. Pay close attention to media stories which are elaborating on a fairy tale. AND a doctor just doesn´t "discover" a blood clot..either she was stroked out, or the clot is in her lung.
Hospitalized in New York? Uh oh. Let´s hope she avoids Bloomberg´s equivalent of the Liverpool Care Pathway -- you know, not cost effective to keep them alive. At the least, let´s hope Bloomie doesn´t find out what she was doing when she got the clot, or it´ll be outlawed.
to all of us who wonder and doubt, it´s really a shame and a pity that our government is so untrustworthy that a potential life threatening episode is viewed with a jaundiced eye by so many. For anyone else, this news would give rise to empathy and concern. These people? Not so much.
The money quote FTA: republicans have said that they are likely to hold up Kerry’s nomination hearing until Clinton testifies about the Benghazi attack, but the impact of this new disclosure was unclear.
Until or unless we hear from actual physicians (who - lets face it - could also be compromised), this is all about Benghazi and the Kerry confirmation...
#8, #10: Exactly. The media was reporting a concussion diagnosis *before* she went to a hospital. Not a single journalist noticed or was curious about her going to a hospital? A "fall" of this kind, resulting in a concussion and a clot, must have surely left some bruises and scrapes. This is Clinton Classic. Wag the dog. Put the story out there, and then tweak the "facts" to fit later.
Good points #8, 42 on the "follow up visit". Oh what a web they weave. Weren´t the DC commies supposed to be expert liars? Guess not!
This newest revelation of a pesky clot must be a response/counter to the condition Kerry won´t be confirmed until she testifies. It´s like a cold or secret war between the yes she wills and the no she won´ts.
Yes agree to all above; more illnesses to come. Gees, after all that grrreat gov healthcare and the ole sal is just fallin´ apart! ha ha. Goooo figurrree.
Isn´t a scab a blood clot? It is probably her description of the scab on the head wound she gave herself so she would not have to testify. I find it ironic that her ´blood clot´ is holding up the confirmation of John ´blood clot´ Kerry - the man that got three purple hearts for his ´blood clots´ on the outside of his skin.
It´s so hard to believe congenital liars. Ms Clinton probably did had some heavy duty plastic surgery and needs to be out of the spotlight for a while. Also it doesn´t hurt to have a way to avoid having to testify.
I could never vote for any candidate for President who has a history of fainting, concussions, blood clots, memory loss ("I don´t recall"), lying (Benghazi attack followed a demonstration against a months-old anti-Muslim video on YouTube, landing in Bosnia under enemy gunfire), overt partisanship ("vast right-wing conspiracy") and incompetence (State Department´s internal report on security lapses in Benghazi).
The favored treatment for a subdural hematoma was not administering anticoagulants, at least when I was nursing, and especially this long after the "head injury." Even if they were giving tPA or streptokinase, these are drugs that are supposed to be given as soon after the event as possible. I don´t believe this story.
Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —
A New York hedge fund manager allegedly swindles $12 million from a prominent Baltimore family. An Indiana couple is accused of bilking hundreds of customers by charging for free trials of cosmetic products. A financial manager in Texas promises 23-percent returns but absconds with $33.5 million of his investors’ money in a classic Ponzi scheme. All three cases have one thing in common: money that ended up in offshore accounts and trusts set up in tax havens around the world.
Former News Corp president Peter Chernin has bid around $500 million for Hulu, the online video streaming service he helped create in 2007, according to two sources with knowledge of Hulu´s sale process. The website, jointly controlled by News Corp and Walt Disney Co, reached out to potential buyers in March after initially contemplating a deal in which one would buy out the other. It is not clear whether that transaction is still being contemplated.
After lengthy investigations, the Pentagon has determined that three Army generals committed misconduct in separate incidents, adding to an unusually long list of senior military commanders who have been censured over the past year.On Friday, defense officials confirmed that Army Maj. Gen. Ralph O. Baker, the commander of a strategic counterterrorism force on the Horn of Africa, was fired March 28 on charges of sexual misconduct. Two officials familiar with the case said Baker was investigated for allegedly groping a female civilian employee after he had been drinking.
The Obama administration appeared eager Thursday to downplay the North Korean military’s latest threat that it has the final authority to carry out “cutting-edge, smaller, lighter and diversified” nuclear strikes on the United States.“This is just the latest in a long line of aggressive statements,” (Snip)the recent tension between Washington and Pyongyang “does not need to get hotter.”The remarks were the first public reaction from the Obama administration since Wednesday’s claim by the North Korean military that the “moment of explosion is approaching fast” with the possibility of war breaking out “today or tomorrow.”
President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that
Political scientist Charles Murray has never backed away from controversy, but usually his opponents have been liberals. Friday, however, he managed to upset conservatives at the annual conference known as CPAC, where thousands of bewildered Republicans gathered to figure out the way forward after their party’s 2012 electoral defeat. Murray ditched his prepared remarks on “America Coming Apart” in favor of an impromptu admonition to fellow conservatives to accept the legalization of both gay marriage and abortion.
I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal
President Obama will cast growing income inequality and a decline in economic mobility as a “fundamental threat to the American dream” during a speech Wednesday in Washington. The speech will serve as an early preview for next year’s State of the Union address, according to a White House official, who said Obama would focus much of his energy over the next three years on the issue. “The decisions we make over the next few years will determine whether or not our children will grow up in an America where, if you work hard, you can get ahead,” the official said.
One of President Obama´s chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America´s youth fawning over the president are over. A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public´s. Even though Obama does not ever have to face another election, he should be worried about the findings for a couple of reasons, which we will dive into momentarily.
Good stuff from Jonathan Turley at today’s House hearing on executive power, although I regret that I couldn’t find a more user-friendly format for you to watch. There’s no compilation clip; you’ll have to make do with the C-SPAN embed by fast-forwarding to the time cues I give you and being patient while the vid buffers (and buffers, and buffers).(Snip)That brings us to point two: Even if Congress can’t stop Obama, the courts can. The problem there, though, says Turley, is that O and the DOJ have argued successfully in many cases that no one has standing to sue him
During a presentation at the White House in which President Barack Obama touted the benefits of the Affordable Care Act, the president declared that his signature health care reform law was not going to be repealed. This assertion led his administration members, his staff, and audience members to rise from their seats and give the president a standing ovation. Obama said that ACA opponents’ alternative to the health care reform law is to champion repeal and going back to the health care delivery system status quo ante. He specifically cited Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) who he said was asked directly for
A woman has revealed how difficult it is to eat healthily and stay full when living off an average food stamp budget. Melinda Moulton, from Huntington, Vermont, was one of 200 people to take part in the 3Squares Challenge, which saw her living for a week on just $36 worth of food, or around $1.71 a meal. Opting to try and eat as healthily as possible, Ms Moulton resorted to cheap foods like yogurt for breakfast, two handfuls of peanuts for lunch and lentil stew for dinner, all of which left her unsatisfied.´I don´t know how people do it,´ said
[Video] President Obama on Wednesday declared that addressing income inequality would be the focus of “all” of the White House’s efforts “for the rest of my presidency.” In a sweeping address that touched on raising the minimum wage, investing in infrastructure and ending tax breaks for the wealthy, Obama warned that the American economy has become “profoundly unequal,” declaring economic mobility the “challenge of our time.” “The combined trends of increasing inequality and decreasing mobility pose a fundamental threat to the American dream, our way of life, and what we stand for around the globe,” he said in an hour-long
