| Up to 60,000 patients die on the Liverpool Care Pathway each year without giving their consent, shocking figures revealed yesterday. A third of families are also kept in the dark when doctors withdraw lifesaving treatment from loved ones. Despite the revelations, Jeremy Hunt last night claimed the pathway was a ‘fantastic step forward’. In comments that appeared to prejudge an official inquiry into the LCP, the Health Secretary said ‘one or two’ mistakes should not be allowed to discredit the entire end-of-life system. But Elspeth Chowdharay-Best of Alert, an anti-euthanasia group, said: ‘The Pathway is

Mr. Jeremy Hunt calls the Liverpool "Care" Pathway a "fantastic step forward". To what - Soylent Green? This is a slow-motion (perhaps) euthanasia program with deliberate withdrawal of hydration in at least some cases. In future here in the US it would be wise for all us "common folks" to be aware of what is happening to our loved ones in the hospitals, nursing homes, etc. Know the doctors, nurses, and other professional staff responsible for treatment. Especially know the administrators and their staff, so that they can appreciate that your are watching them and prepared to be helpful. Take notes. Make sure the staff and administration know that you are taking notes and making a record of the proceedings. It might be wise to consider having an experienced attorney identified if/as needed. Do not ever assume that the "authority figures" know what is best and will do it.

This isn´t even a panel. The doctor decides who meets the criteria and stops the food and water. No mention is made to the patient or family. Doctors are rewarded by the system for meeting their quota and harassed if they don´t. The elderly and the very young with need for special care are the prime candidates. Maybe Peirs Morgan can explain why doctors denying care to the helpless is OK but gun ownership is not.

When government controls healthcare, they now have a vested interest in your lifestyle behavior. They will pass laws controlling what you can eat (Hello New York City) but at the same time dismiss very unhealthy behaviors like sexual promiscuity.
In they end, he who pays the bills makes the decisions I and the U.S. Just handed over the decisions to a militant socialist community organizer.

See photos of the US Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius for that same crazed look of a mass murderer.

Contact Kathleen Sebelius and tell her Hillary Clinton has a blood clot. Tell her to put her on a end-of-life plan as she is old and useless and has caused much pain and suffering for decades.
That would be ´fantastic´

Sadly the snuffing out of the inconvenient is a major part of the "progressive" value system. They hide this deciding of who lives and dies in bureaucratic bafflegab. When I left Canada, with its wonderful "free" system, there were not sufficient dialysis machines to deal with all the patients. People were basically being chosen to die while the deciders hid behind "scheduling" issues. A critical part of their "cost control" was under-investment in capital assets. There were only 3 MRI machines in the country when I left.

G.D. America? No... G.D. Obama, for paving the way for this kind of socialist evil to take over our country next. The Affordable Care Act will go in this direction, and we can anticipate it sooner, rather than later.
Once this comes here, whatever you do, don´t put Mom or Dad into a hospital´s care. Pay a private nurse under the table to provide hospice care at home if you have to. And anyone who tries to take them away to an A.C.A.-compliant facility puts their own lives in God´s hands...

The body tends to shut down when deprived of food and water.
A dear loved one can also get into trouble if they are pushing TOO much fluid into the body via the IV so that the kidneys, lungs cannot keep up with it -
If you have a precious grandmother, grandfather or your folks having to go through anything, make sure a family member is there "on board" as an advocate on their behalf.

In Communism, the goal of the state is above all - Marxism does away with individual life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.
That is why the greatest mass killings of the past century were not done by religion, but by athiest Communist regimes against their own people (Che loved imprisoning homosexuals).

Maybe that newly minted HHS Hitler Youth Corps will be going around the country starting on Jan lst to snuff out what they consider people using too much health care. Politicans, muslims, unions, gays, welfare parasites will all be exempted because they don´t pay the bill for Barry´s utopian non-health care.

#18, actually, no. Notice that this practice is being exposed and that the average person is horrified and angered by the Liverpool Pathway being prescribed for their elderly or infant loved ones without their knowledge or permission. Pressure is being brought to bear to change the situation.
In the US we´re going to copy the same dreadful treatment (or lack of) before too much longer.

There has been a sixth night of rioting in Sweden´s capital, Stockholm, despite police reinforcements being deployed. Cars were set alight in poor suburbs inhabited largely by immigrants, although the unrest was reportedly not as serious as on previous nights. The rioting also spread outside the capital for the first time on Friday, with youths torching vehicles and buildings in two towns. [Snip] It is believed they were sparked by the death of an elderly man nearly a week before, who was shot by police after he allegedly threatened to kill them with a machete.

The leader of the Lebanese Shia militant Hezbollah movement, Hassan Nasrallah, has promised his supporters victory in Syria, where his fighters are backing President Bashar al-Assad. Mr Nasrallah said Hezbollah would stay in the conflict till the end. Syrian rebels in the besieged town of Qusair say they are under heavy bombardment from Hezbollah combatants. The town is close to the Lebanese border, a conduit for both the government and rebels to get weapons. [Snip] He said his movement could never be aligned with Syrian rebels who, in his view, were supported by the United States and Israel.

One of the men suspected of murdering a soldier in Woolwich, south-east London, was detained by police two months ago, Sky News has been told. Local shopkeepers say Michael Adebowale was part of a group of Muslim activists who had been reported to police several times. They were told the authorities were aware of him. It comes as a preliminary report into what the intelligence services knew about Adebowale and his fellow suspect Michael Adebolajo is set to be handed over to an inquiry next week. Sir Malcolm Rifkind, chairman of the parliamentary Intelligence and Security Committee, said he had

The Metropolitan Police has defended the way it responded to reports of the killing in Woolwich, south London, after questions were raised about how long it took officers to reach the scene. The force said police were there within nine minutes of the first emergency call and firearms officers were at the scene five minutes after that. Mayor Boris Johnson was heckled when he visited the area. BBC London´s Home Affairs Correspondent Guy Smith spoke with Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley, former Metropolitan Police Commander John O´Connor and Roger Gray, a former firearms officer.

HANAHAN--The U.S. Naval Brig is once again being mentioned as a leading alternative to put terror detainees on trial after President Barack Obama this week rekindled his push to shut down the terror-suspect holding site at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. “I once again call on Congress to lift the restrictions on detainee transfers from Gitmo,” he said. “I have asked the Department of Defense to designate a site in the United States where we can hold military commissions.” Speculation immediately re-focused on the brig at Charleston as a leading choice where some of the 166 detainees could go on trial.

Proudly marching through the streets of York with cheers ringing in their ears, the men and women of 2nd Signal Regiment--recently returned from Afghanistan--were greeted by thousands of people lining the streets to welcome them home. In the hours after the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby by alleged Islamist terrorists in Woolwich, south-east London, on Wednesday, the Ministry of Defence had advised servicemen and women not to go out in uniform--an order that was promptly ignored by soldiers who refused to be cowed and almost immediately rescinded. 300 members of the Armed Forces were cheered by well-wishers who waved

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

On Wednesday, Drummer Lee Rigby of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, a man who had served Queen and country honorably in the hell of Helmand Province in Afghanistan, emerged from his barracks on Wellington Street, named after the Duke thereof, in southeast London. Minutes later, he was hacked to death in broad daylight and in full view of onlookers by two men with machetes who crowed "Allahu Akbar!" as they dumped his carcass in the middle of the street like so much roadkill. As grotesque as this act of savagery was, the aftermath was even more unsettling

Washington rumor has it that Obama wants to be U.N. Secretary General. There are several reasons that make that likely, and if it´s true, it throws new light on a lot of Obama´s oddities -- including his Royalty Bows, his Apology Tours, his Muslim Sellout, and the Benghazi Cover-Up. But first -- why would Obama be planning to become the chief of the U.N. before he has even finished his second term?

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.
