| The Federal Housing Administration (FHA), hit hard by the collapse of the housing bubble, is still making risky loans on the taxpayers´ dime, and may need a bailout in 2013. An exhaustive study of the subject by the American Enterprise Institute´s Edward Pinto reveals some shocking statistics: An estimated 40 percent of the FHA’s business consists of loans with either one or two subprime attributes—a FICO score below 660 or a debt ratio greater than or equal to 50 percent (based on loans insured during FY 2012). The FHA’s underwriting policies encourage low- and moderate-income families

None of us can read everything but watch this one. FHA is a deliberate bomb planted in our financial structure.
This is Cloward-Pliven with a vengeance!

Not remotely amusing. The same *failed* Federal policies that spawned the current economic scenario - version 2.0 isn´t looking any better, and for some reason - our ´governing´ class is too brain-dead to deal with this issue in a rational fashion...
Then again, what did we really expect? The term ´failure´ in government-speak - is code for ´we didn´t throw enough of YOUR money at it´.
As the Ethanol debacle proves - results mean nothing to these people - only bureaucracy and job security...
But brighter people could have predicted this mess from the stellar performance of the ´public housing´ sector over the last half century.
Ya´ think?

I purchased my first home in 1964 by assuming an FHA mortgage, as second owner of the five year old house. So if I defaulted on the mortgage, the first owner would have been liable for the payments. And after 5 years, I sold the house to a young couple who assumed the FHA mortgage. That meant if they defaulted, I and the first owner would be liable for the payments. The logic of the assumable FHA mortgage went out the window in the early 1980s. I suspect banks lobbied through the change to nonassumable, because they were cut out of the mortgage origination money. And the FHA itself was cut out of alot of paperwork, since they were not doing new loans, meaning fewer civil servants needed.

The feral gov.commie & it´s FHA :{feral hut aberation:} bureaucracy has long since been out of real money. This redistribution crime by le curtsying bar queen Ø´blo the blamer and it´s fellow bath house habitue bwarnie fwank was never sustainable.
Perhaps chicago has the answer to population control that would aleviate the pressures on congressional leeches to house the welfare rolls and their constituents. Prisons seem to be helping the most, but doj´s fast and furious has not reduced the population as the leaders had hoped. Oh well. The best planned lies of lice and menches of oft nose dive.

The mortgage industry probably took years to figure out the right mixture of income and liabilities to screen out bad borrowers. But here comes Jimmy carter with the Community Development project which opened the doors to unqualified people getting loans. They came up with a community ratings system on banks to make sure they made affirmative action loans. Still,it didn´t go on steroids until Bubba´s last term.hen Bush bought into this ownership society.
As if the FHA isn´t bad enough already they´re now putting serious risky buyers into house who then want a new loan because they´re underwater. Here comes the taxpayer again.Food stamps still count as income unless you´re assessing poverty, then they don´t count as income.
The excuse they give for making these risky loans is there´s enough soluble homeowners to offset the risk. What a joke.

FHA is one of the most - if not the most - mismanaged organization ever. And the majority of its employees could not get a job at Walmart. Obama could balance a good part of the budget by getting rid of dead weight that is on taxpayer shoulders - all across the board.

Seize the houses and have Congress totally wipe out the FHA.

On Rush Limbaugh’s radio show this afternoon, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, denounced the Gang of Eight immigration reform bill, encouraging his audience to call their member of Congress to oppose the bill. Cruz noted there were about 20 Republican Senators that were on the fence about voting for the bill, but that he believed that it was “politically foolish” and “terrible for the country.” “It doesn’t fix the problem,” Cruz said. “We need to fix the problem, secure the borders and improve legal immigration.” Cruz dismissed the Congressional Budget Office report showing that the bill would actually decrease federal

President Obama´s visit to the Group of Eight summit has created a political row in Ireland after an outspoken liberal lawmaker on Wednesday denounced the U.S. president as a “war criminal” for his drone use and his decision to arm the Syrian rebels. Parliamentarian Clare Daly said her country´s government had showcased the country “as a nation of pimps, prostituting ourselves in return for a pat on the head,” The Irish Times reports. The “unprecedented slobbering” during Obama´s two-day visit to Northern Ireland, she said, had even led to speculation that “you were going to deck the

WASHINGTON — The CEO of the Associated Press told an audience Wednesday that the Department of Justice has succeeded in muzzling government employees from talking to AP reporters in the weeks since the seizure of AP phone records was revealed. “What I learned from our journalists should alarm everyone in this room and I think should alarm everyone in this country. The actions of the DOJ against AP are already having an impact beyond the specifics of this particular case,” AP CEO

President Obama on Tuesday downplayed Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s decision to suspend talks on a long-term security deal with the U.S. in protest of the launch of formal peace talks with the Taliban. Karzai also pulled out of peace talks with the Taliban the Obama administration agreed to hold in Qatar, which are to begin Thursday. Obama said his administration had always anticipated "difficult negotiations." "We had extensive conversations with President Karzai both before and after the Taliban opened the office in Doha," Obama told reporters at a joint press conference in Berlin with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

It probably wouldn´t have shocked political observers if Sen. Marco Rubio´s job approval ratings had taken a hit since becoming the Republican face of comprehensive immigration reform earlier this year. But the Florida Republican´s numbers in his home state are actually close to their best ever, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday, though the senator did get low marks from voters for his handling of both immigration and gun control. Rubio had a job approval rating of 51 percent to 35 percent, the survey of registered voters found.

PANORAMA CITY — School board members have approved a plan to rename a San Fernando Valley elementary school after First Lady Michelle Obama. Los Angeles Unified board members voted unanimously Tuesday to name Valley Region Elementary School No. 13 after Mrs. Obama. The campus, which was opened last August to relieve overcrowding at nearby elementary schools, focuses on healthy eating for students, a cause championed by Mrs. Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign. The First Lady was in Germany on Wednesday as President Obama meets with Prime Minister Angela Merkel and other leaders.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
