| "Second Lieutenant Daniel K. Inouye distinguished himself by extraordinary heroism in action on 21 April 1945, in the vicinity of San Terenzo, Italy. While attacking a defended ridge guarding an important road junction, Second Lieutenant Inouye skillfully directed his platoon through a hail of automatic weapon and small arms fire, in a swift enveloping movement that resulted in the capture of an artillery and mortar post and brought his men to within 40 yards of the hostile force. Emplaced in bunkers and rock formations, the enemy halted the advance with crossfire from three machine guns.

Comments: Off hand I´d say Inouye is at least 3 feet taller than John Kerry. Didn´t care for his politics but he earned his Medal of Honor.

With very few exceptions, today´s elected officials are among the worst this country has to offer.

His Medal of Honor was well-deserved. But a giant in the Senate? Not so much.

MOH, yes.
Fifty years in the Senate doing nothing and in the end supporting a disgusting, degenerate Democratic party, no.

I had to revert back to my original screen name.
The worst thing that Inouye and felloow senator Akaka did was to push through a law affecting ´native hawaiians´ giving them capacious rights much like native americans. The problem with that is that it provides for goodies for the ill defined native hawaiians, to the exclusion of whites. I suspect that law will be a court-entangled mess for decades to come. It may be worse than the Pigford case.

...and that my friends is what happens when the President of the United States has your service record doctored fifty years later.
Mr. William Jefferson Clinton, is so disgusting that he thinks nothing of fabricating records just to award one of his friends the Congressional Medal of Honor.
This Senator deserved the Medal of Honor about as much as John Kerry deserves to be referred to as an American citizen.

His political integrity was in the arm he lost.
He was another liberal tax-and-spend hate-whitey Democrat, and as such, was a carbuncle on the arse of our country for decades.

Rep. Hank Johnson took to the House floor “like a kid at a carnival” Thursday to defend Americans’ right to helium in light of sequester spending cuts. The Georgia Democrat, irked by his Republican cohorts, gave a snarky, pun-heavy speech in support of the Responsible Helium Administration and Stewardship Act of 2013, which would prevent the closure of the Federal Helium Reserve, scheduled to shutter by October. “Mr. Speaker, I’m relieved, and I’m sure that the American people are relieved as well, that Congress is finally going to do something about one of the most pressing issues of the day,” he began. “That is we’ve got to ensure access to helium for all.”

PLAISTOW, N.H. — Last month, Cameron Lyle of Plaistow, New Hampshire had a decision to make. He could finish up his senior season of track at the University of New Hampshire, or he could give the season up and have an opportunity to save someone’s life. It was a no-brainer. Lyle will be donating his bone marrow to an anonymous recipient on April 24. As a result, he will have to miss the final two meets of his career, including the America East Championships, where he was hoping to throw shot put.

Ohio school shooter TJ Lane spewed vile and unprintable words today at the families of three students he killed, gave them the finger and then laughed and smiled as they described him as an animal and a monster. Lane, 18, got another chuckle when the judge sentenced him to three life terms in prison with no chance for parole. Lane was waiting for a bus to an alternative school when he killed three students during a Feb. 27, 2012 rampage at Chardon High School.

Several hundred illegal immigrants have been released from detention centers in Georgia and other states, federal officials confirmed Tuesday. They said the releases were made to cut costs in advance of automatic spending cuts that are scheduled to take effect Friday. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials declined to say precisely how many detainees they have freed or where they are being released. But they confirmed some have been freed from the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, 145 miles south of Atlanta.

Researchers from Lund University in Sweden have discovered the secret to dung beetle navigation, according to a news release from Cell Press. Researchers found that dung beetles use the Milky Way galaxy to navigate at night. Scientists have known for years that birds and humans navigate by the stars, but this findings is the first believable evidence for a similar ability in insects, according to researchers. This is also the first known evidence of any animal navigating via the Milky Way as opposed to the stars.

State Police arrested a female friend of a crazed upstate firefighter shooter yesterday for allegedly buying him the guns he used to kill two smoke eaters during a Christmas Eve attack. Dawn Nguyen, 24, a former neighbor of William Spengler Jr., allegedly purchased a .223 Bushmaster AR-15 and a 12-gauge shotgun for the wild-eyed manic in 2010, knowing full well that he couldn’t buy the guns himself because he was a convicted felon. Spengler picked out the weapons himself and went to the sporting goods store with Nguyen when she bought him the guns, said US Attorney William Hochul.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

On Wednesday, Drummer Lee Rigby of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, a man who had served Queen and country honorably in the hell of Helmand Province in Afghanistan, emerged from his barracks on Wellington Street, named after the Duke thereof, in southeast London. Minutes later, he was hacked to death in broad daylight and in full view of onlookers by two men with machetes who crowed "Allahu Akbar!" as they dumped his carcass in the middle of the street like so much roadkill. As grotesque as this act of savagery was, the aftermath was even more unsettling

Washington rumor has it that Obama wants to be U.N. Secretary General. There are several reasons that make that likely, and if it´s true, it throws new light on a lot of Obama´s oddities -- including his Royalty Bows, his Apology Tours, his Muslim Sellout, and the Benghazi Cover-Up. But first -- why would Obama be planning to become the chief of the U.N. before he has even finished his second term?

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.

Fox News chief Roger Ailes has sent a memo to his subordinates at the leading cable news network. He sent this memo to his staff today in connection with the federal investigation into an alleged leak to Fox News reporter James Rosen, a story that the Washington Post’s Ann E. Marimow broke earlier this week. The memo’s a masterpiece, too. For all those who wonder what it is about Ailes that endears his people to him — and that makes him such a good interviewee for any media reporter lucky enough to get an audience
