EXCLUSIVE: Gunman´s ´survivalist´ mother

The mother of Newtown school massacre gunman Adam Lanza was a survivalist who was stockpiling food because she thought the world economy was on the verge of collapse. Nancy Lanza began hoarding food and water because she feared that the onging financial crisis was going to bring about the end of civilized society. She reportedly became ´obsessed´ with guns and taught Adam how to shoot, but on Friday in a grim twist he blasted her to death while she laid in her own bed. Law enforcement sources told the Hartford Courant that

Comments:
Fox reported this morning that the murderer destroyed all of his computers. If this guy was so unstable I´m not sure exposing him to all these guns was the most responsible thing to do.

I am stockpiling food to prepare for the hyperinflation that is coming, isn´t everyone?

Now "preppers" are nuts, and they breed the kind of insanity we witnessed in Connecticut.

The world is truely upside down.

I´m headed to Walmart today to buy more ammo.

Just asking.

Lets think like a liberal:

Obama has failed to employ the strategies that create a vibrant and growing economy. Thus the shooter´s mother became concerned the economy was going to collapse and stocked up on ammo and purchased guns for protection from the hoards of "takers" she expected would roam the neighborhoods once the government entitlements ceased. Her troubled son took the guns and killed all the people.

Conclusion: it´s all Obama´s fault for his failed programs that started it all.

Shame on the media.

As obama continues to pursue his destructive agenda, the sense of impending doom this woman felt will become more justified and more common. The woman´s personal convictions are hardly relevant. The fact that she let her son have access to her weapons seems to me to be the crux of the matter.

How many of these episodes could have been prevented if the perpetrator´s mother wasn´t blinded by maternal devotion?

The mothers fears were not irrational but her solution was imprudent. #7 & 8 have it right. When the president fails in his basic duty to keep the citizens safe and is constantly stirring up class warfare in pursuit of his political objectives it will make the targeted people in the population nervous and that is when chaos breaks out. The president should stop all his talk about various groups in the population. There is only one distinction that counts - American citizens and aliens. That is one distinction he refuses to make!

I am not convinced she left the gun case open or let the kid have access to the guns. Knowing him, he could have easily held a knife to her throat and forced her to open the gun case. Before she could call the cops, he shot her dead.

This is just another trip to fantasy land with a media desperate to be relevant. Until the police reports are out, it´s all conjecture all the time, by the media.

So, what was her political affiliation? They keep trying to imply that Mrs. Lanza was a kookie conservative redneck- gun enthusiast, prepper, homeschooler. However, her location, home and lifestyle, leave that open to question.

Was she a liberal? Let´s be honest, if she were conservative, we´d know that by now, but it would explain, if she were a Zero supporter, why they are so desperate to paint her and a kook.

here we go. the script is becoming more clear. she was ´´obsessed´´ and a ´´survivalist´´. she was the risk. now I got it.

all we´re hearing is second hand info, and that may be all we ever hear since both mother and son are now dead. no one is saying whether or not the weapons were secure in a gun safe. and if that is true, perhaps the son had the combination. she ´´told a friend´´ that she was afraid she was losing the boy. since he hadn´t demonstrated any aggressive behavior a reasonable person would assume she meant that he was becoming even more introverted and was pulling away from her psychologically. if she was indeed so concerned with safety and survival, I´d bet that she was not careless with firearms. I have to believe (until facts are made much more clear) that she didn´t have a clue her son was this dangerous...

We should all know by now that the maintream media is worthless reporting a story like this one as it is their "DUTY" to exploit any story they report on to further a Lefty agenda and to protect Obama. I agree with others Obama has only himself to blame for scaring the majority of Americans with his Marxist agenda and class warfare. Obama is to blame for this woman´s worried mental state. The woman´s son was a mentally ill sicko that probably nobody could help.

After the dust settles, it may or may not be determined the mother was "obsessed" with guns.

She may have had a crazy kid, but it doesn´t make her obsessed with anything.

Time will tell what really happened.

Be very suspicious because these articles appear to be more opinion than facts. Especially the reporting in the American press.

So - this entire episode can be traced back to B.O.´s poor fiscal management!!!

If he had renewed the Bush tax cuts and not increased the deficit - she might not have had guns.

The poor woman who was murdered by her own son is not even buried in the ground yet and her character is already being assasinated. For shame!. Her only mistake was not properly securing her firearms from her son who clearly had some mental health issues. This whole tragedy and the three preceeding tragedies were failures of our mental health system. We dont need any additional laws. More than enough of them were broken already.

So we learn that only crazy people would imagine that the financial systems are nearing serious problems. Right.

"Obsessed with guns" to a pathetic Brit is owning more than a double barreled shotgun and half a box of birdshot. Only crazy people would want or need more than that, right?

Self defense is essentially illegal in Britain, so the concept of keeping guns for self defense is negated, and they seem to like being serfs. How sad.

If she were really disposed as stated in this article, you would think that she would have sold her high value property in ultra liberal Connecticut and moved into the mountains in someplace like Idaho, where a lot of her survival minded kindred spirits are holding out.

I think that before passing judgment on her it is prudent to wait until the emotional smoke clears, and see what her ex-husband and surviving son, along with other family members and acquaintances have to say.

Either the mother, the medical professionals or both, failed to adequately identify and/or deal with the killer´s mental illness.

It is only coincidence that she was a single mother who was concerned about the safety and financial future of herself and her child in this quickly deteriorating 0bama economy. There are a lot of us who share those concerns.

This is simply another opportunity for the left to add to their narrative that those who refuse to rely on the government to provide for them and protect them are somehow less than mentally balanced and a threat to the national security.

´Never let a crisis go to waste.´

Those people who are aware of the insane debt Obama is racking up, recognize the unsustainable nature of the Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Obamacare, food stamps and welfare programs and extrapolate to the inevitable bankruptcy of this country necessarily followed by a societal meltdown when all those state dependent people are left stranded with no means of support and who don´t prepare to defend, feed and shelter themselves are oblivious to potential disaster.

So which is worse, being obsessed with survival or being oblivious to a possible disaster?

Wait a minute. There is some kind of financial crisis coming? I thought no budget Obama was working on that. Oh well, where do I turn in my food?

What did Ben Franklin say, ´those who give up freedom for security will have neither.´ Given a choice of becoming Israel or China, I´ll pick Israel. I know what the liberal left will choose.

DENVER — Colorado sheriffs upset with gun restrictions adopted in the aftermath of last year’s mass shootings filed a federal lawsuit Friday, challenging the regulations as unconstitutional. The lawsuit involves sheriffs from 54 of Colorado’s 64 counties, most representing rural, gun-friendly areas of the state. The sheriffs say the new state laws violate Second Amendment protections that guarantee the right to keep and bear arms. Opponents are criticizing the lawsuit as political maneuvering. The filing targets Colorado laws that limit the size of ammunition magazines and expand background checks. The regulations

WASHINGTON – Jay Devereaux hadn’t paid much attention to the daily drumbeat of partisan politics in D.C. But when news broke that the government was using taxpayer money to bail out Wall Street banks, he started paying attention and didn’t like what he was hearing. So the Florida father and information technology specialist decided to form a group, Unite in Action, to educate people in his area about the issues, he said.

The first lady is recruiting these institutions to join the “Let’s Move! WASHINGTON — Congressional Republicans, not resting with the Internal Revenue Service scandal, are moving to broaden the matter to an array of tax malfeasances and “intimidation tactics” they hope will ensnare the White House. Republican charges range from the clearly questionable to the seemingly specious, and they grow by the day. On Friday, lawmakers sought to tie the I.R.S. matter to the implementation of President Obama’s health care law, which will rely heavily on the agency. Whether they succeed holds significant ramifications for Mr. Obama,

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says it wants as many as 20 percent of its workers to "telework," use an "alternative work schedule," or do both, in order to "reduce green house gas emissions," decrease "employee stress," and give these government workers more time for "planning and preparing healthy meals." So says one of the HHS "performance measures" detailed in an appendix to the department´s latest strategic plan. HHS´s performance measure "4.D.05" says: "Increase the percent employees on telework or on Alternative Work Schedule." Telework means working from home via phone and computer.

Bloodletting, in the form of firings, dismissals, resignation, and expulsions, is a tribal rite in political Washington. It is most often used by the powerful on anyone less powerful as a symbolic sacrifice. Steven Miller, the now former acting commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, is the latest victim of ritual sacrifice. This week the Obama White House demanded his resignation to demonstrate the president’s “anger” at news that the IRS targeted conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status for added review and slow approval. Next, we’ll watch as Congress takes up the bloodletting knife.

The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

So allow us to do the work for him: There is no comparison. Nixon, in a series of crimes that collectively came to be known as Watergate, directed from the White House and Justice Department a concerted campaign against those he perceived as political enemies, in the process subverting the FBI, the IRS, other government agencies and the electoral process to his nefarious purposes. In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,
